I just did a similar move: new z390 mobo, 9600k, ram etc. I did not uninstall anything, just installed the new mobo drivers once the upgrade completed. For the Windows - obviously it got de-activated after the upgrade, but retrieving a license from the Microsoft account (https://scottiestech.info/2017/02/26/upgrade-your-motherboard-without-reinstalling-windows-10/) did not work for me by some reason. It was around a midnight, but I gave it a try - called Microsoft support, and surprisingly they were able to reactivate it within like 5 min :).

I just did a partial upgrade to my system (cpu, mobo, ram), and ended up with Gigabyte z390 Aorus Pro motherboard. Most of the reviews suggests it has the best VRM (voltage regulator module) implementation. VRM comes into a play when you overclock your CPU, and what I've gathered from the research is that Gigabyte did it better than other brands (MSI,Asus).

Exactly my experience with Pimax 5K+. I could not figure what makes the image so 'flat' firstly despite the higher resolution and FOV. It is like you are not really in a cockpit but rather looking at a huge LCD screen with a 3D image on it.

Не, на фиг. Имхо, хог - лучше. На вартхоге три хатки, а тут - одна полноценная и какая-то пимпа внизу. Да и потом хог и ручка F-16 - практически одно и тоже, это плюс.

It is just wrong, a marketing thing. The lenses are fixed, and you can't move them by software. Software adjusts other things in respect to your IPD stuff like distortion profile etc. The only user who will get a 100% alignment are the ones with IPD matching exactly to what it is fixed to in the headset.

I'm not sure about Rift S. With CV1 I use Oculus tray tool. Connect the hmd, start the tool, set ASW on or off and it guarantees to be the way you I set it unlike windows Ctrl-1,2,3,4 keys that are always a gamble.

It depends on many variables: your hardware, a module etc. The fact is - it makes world moving much smoother at a price of some artifacts.

Welcome to the "It's never perfect in VR" club :). For the smoothness - have you enabled ASW? Helps a lot.

The trees in Caucasus have always been wrong no matter what. They are unrealistically tall/big especially for that region. Anybody who ever been there (incl my self) can tell that. Why it matters - it breaks immersion giving a wrong perception of altitude.

just connect your cougars, start DCS, get into a Hornet (or A-10) cockpit and you will see that everything is mapped automatically, including your frkin secondary menus :)

Я, собственно, и взял вышеупомянутую Gigabyte Aorus Pro, именно за реализацию VRM.

В биосе (Gigabyte) я выставил "Normal", т.е. 1.2v. Когда проц не загружен напряжение 0.6v, под стресс тестом - 1.18 максимум.

Totally agree about the buttkicker, especially for helicopters.

Да понятно, но я к тому, что скрины, на которых уже видны силуэты крафтов, актуальны только для сравнения разрешения девайсов, а не как подтверждение видимости контактов с большего/меньшего расстояния.
