  1. i9 is a little out of the budget. Think I am going to go with an i7-8700k and over clock it. 32gb DDR4 3200, and an MSI z390 board. That should be a decent help, yeah?
  2. with that, you are saying you could go the i5 route and overclock it into the 4 ghz range and it would out perform mine? I only play DCS in VR.
  3. Same here, the head tracking is perfect (same as when i had the rift).
  4. no, he is probably using mods.
  5. I am thinking of building a new PC and am cringing at the intel prices. I have not followed the PC industry in quite some time and wanted to hear your thoughts on AMD's Ryzen line. How they work with DCS and how it performs in VR. I am running an Odyssey+ and my current specs are below. I am really asking a lot of my machine (CPU) right now and need to move on. I will not be getting a new GPU initially, maybe a ways down the road as my GPU seems to be working fine and not loaded. My CPU is the bottleneck right now. Is Intel still the way to go or has AMD stepped up its game? if so, what Ryzen is the one to get right now if at all. Should I stick with Intel and just pony up? Thanks for the help.
  6. more often than not, these Tomcat CTD's are producing a log.
  7. 4 weeks from today.
  8. upload logs... say "i ctd when I fly the tomcat" doesnt really help much.
  9. It doesn't seek on speed AoA right away. It seeks 4.0 deg of AoA. You have to trim it to 8.1 deg (on speed AoA)
  10. HB has mentioned it is not enabled for VR. If in VR it will not show up no matter what you have set in the options.
  11. no issues here.
  12. No afterburners on CV take off. Bring gear up before hitting 280 kts to not overspeed them and cause damage.
  13. Doesnt seem to be one in game. I did see Victory mention he taped his filters to the VDI and HSD to keep them in place during the cat shot.
  14. Once again, it's a false positive....
  15. High school insult, well done. You must be very proud of yourself.
  16. beats me. There was a thread in here that figured it out. Was all kinds of weird but it is what it is.
  17. 17 Years of IT experience is what lead me to that conclusion, not your forum discovery of a false positive.
  18. SteamVR and in game PD multiply. There is no difference in Quality. If you run SteamVR at 200% and PD of 1.0 in game, you are getting a PD of 1.4 in game. If you run SteamVR at 100% and PD of 1.4 in game, you are getting a PD of 1.4 If you run SteamVR at 150% and PD of 1.0 in game, you are getting approx. PD of 1.2-1.3 Point being, it is easier to grasp the percentages if you turn SteamVR to 100, and just use the in game. Again, with the Odyssey+, any PD over 1.5 you will lose range in your ability to spot. Keep that in mind. Also, anything over 1.5, and the cockpit will gradually become fuzzier.
  19. you need to turn on your oxygen... LMAO
