  1. I saw this too. Rift with a 1070. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Just disable MSAA and use DS, works fine. Pity the MSAA wreaks havoc with framerate
  3. Would be great. I'm in the same boat.
  4. Indeed.
  5. Hi All, So now that 2.5 is out maybe we can tell each other what we have seen that is different, that is not in the changelogs. I'll start: My squad mates tell me the F15 and Su27 have tweaked flight models and I noticed the M2000 won't go M 1.0 as readily as before while carrying weapons and a fuel tank. I don't see new explosions for bombs yet, still only rockets and missiles and units exploding. What new stuff have you noticed?
  6. I started with 26GB free space and had to uninstall 2.2 in the end to make space and redownload NTTR and Normandy. If you start with 40 odd I think it should be ok if you had both 2.2 maps installed.
  7. Reshade and the control panel AA doesn't work for VR unfortunately.
  8. Yeah... this is impossible. Also, this is not how much is required because we already have some of the files on our computers...
  9. The official line is a full install requires about 100GB, but this is not what I'm asking. I'm asking: How much free space is required to download the files and perform the upgrade?
  10. Me and I'm guessing many others have 1.5.8 and 2.2 installed on an SSD. In my case I have around 25GB free. How much free space will be required to perform the upgrade? I know 2.2 will get removed afterwards but I'm guessing some amount of working space will be required. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. “Better mission design” is just another way to say don’t make it too hard for either team. If only we had a word for this idea ... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I find these discussions interesting. Some are saying no weaponry should be restricted at all and some are calling for some restrictions (for balance). One one hand I agree, don't nerf airframes too much. They were developed to be better than something, so let them be. One the other hand, this could lead to ridiculous scenarios. i.e. say your opponents have to group together to take out a single F-14 because it has a way longer reach than them and can spam the airspace with AIM54 (or the F15 with AIM120C). I know a bunch of you are saying, well that's the way it is in real life. Here's a question for you Would you, or would you not, play in the same scenario, but the entire enemy airspace is protected by multiple SA-10 sites and each SA-10 is protected by multiple Sa-15 / 2S6. So no matter what you do, you will get locked and launched on as soon as you go fence in and ARMs will get shot down by the SA-15. We have to balance MP in some way, else it gets angry-making.
  13. Yes yes yes. ED already told us they will do it but not when they will do it. You can calm down now ;-)
  14. Guys, its pretty simple. At taxi speeds (0-20knots) use NWS, 20 - 50ish (until rudder starts working) use differential braking (carefully) and after that the rudder will work. When you land, land gently on the centreline, let the chute come out and just let it roll until the rudder doesn't work anymore, then differential brakes then NWS once it is slow. I promise you'll crash a real one if you try to NWS at 100knots too.
  15. Doesn't work for VR :(
  16. My experience, and those that fly with me, is that the general performance is much worse than that in BF and in Dynamic DCS and similar servers. I see lots of people quoting high numbers, much higher than you are reporting, and some of it is hard to believe. I'll try and remember to post a screenshot of my afterburner curves next time, to illustrate.
  17. The CPU usage is low yes because DCS only uses 2 / 4 cores. I also have 50% usage. Are you sure you measure in Blue Flag, somewhere near the fighting, when there's a bunch of people online?
  18. 1.5 doesn't use much GPU because it is severely cpu-limited by DirectX calls, like i said mine runs at average 22FPS with GPU usage at 35% when I'm on Blue Flag. I can show the graphs. What CPU do you use?
  19. I get 11-22 fps, i5 7600k@4.5, 32gb ddr4, 1070 and VR. Gpu usage low. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Blue Flag runs CTLD so the helos are used to take repair crates to FARPS and Airbases, to transport troops to FARPS, airbases and fuelbases in order to capture them and to erect base defenses (IR SAM troops and SA-6 sites). In short the helos are an integral part of blue flag, your team cannot win without them. Mi8 is only on red team so if you join, join red. Blue has Gazelle and Huey, Red has Huey, Ka-50 and Mi8.
  21. What would you like to know?
  22. IRL you’ll be disciplined for getting the jet stuck in dirt. I suggest creating a mission for practicing your taxiing skills. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. In reality, people will duct tape a GPS / GLONASS unit into the cockpit if they have to. I certainly would. The F10 map with only you on it kinda simulates this idea.
  24. You can change the frequencies on your radio, so organise between your flights which frequencies to use for special purposes.
  25. So it preloads a minimum and has to keep loading more, as you fly around. Try maxing out the preload radius.
