  1. I'd kill for a 120ms ping. There are other issues, ping isn't the only issue, I think the server load and netcode plays a greater role in the warping.
  2. Leave it up to a bunch of guys to argue about things that doesn't affect them in the slightest. Honestly? Nothing wrong with being inclusive here. The more DCS players the better for everyone. Don't bring up the historical accuracy now and tomorrow you dogfight a Flanker in an Eagle, that has never happened before either. This is why we can't have nice things.
  3. There's a difference between monitors and VR i.t.o. competitiveness but its not case of the one is far superior to the other. Monitor + TIR people can look behind and around far easier than VR people and they can see smaller details because their displays aren't blurry. However, the VR people have a better sense of distance and maneuvering attitude and likely sense of speed which is an advantage in a dogfight. In my group we're more than 50% VR users and we resolve (harhar) some of these VR problems on MP servers with good communication. Don't think you cannot win a fight because you're in VR, you likely just need more practice.
  4. Yes, Its right-alt / right-control+Home to start, +End to stop. The same is true for all the FC3 planes. Some you can even start both engines at once with right-shift+home. It AMAZES me how many people will reinstall software for something like this. Why do they think that will make it magically start running the code differently?
  5. I think the player base is far too small to have limitations like this. If you play to win in PVP, use a monitor and TIR, if not, use whatever is more fun for you.
  6. Monitor users can look behind them far easier than VR users can. I think Mr_sukebe is correct, however, I won't advocate for the solution, removing zoom won't change anything.
  7. The Blue Flag Nevada campaign has less advanced modules than the Caucasus campaign. At the moment: Red: Mig-21, Viggen, SU25, Mi8, L39, TF51 Blue: F5, Hawk, A10A, Huey, TF51 All fire and forget air-to-ground weapons have been taken out, so the Viggen and A10A only has rockets and dumb bombs to work with. The Su25 can fire laser guided missiles and the F5 can drop GBU12 (in addition to rockets / bombs) if there is a JTAC lasing targets (JTAC dropped from helo). Hawk, L39 (and maybe TF51) can be used to call bombers.
  8. 1. Blue Flag is not about sounding professional. Don't worry about that. People are friendly and will help. Ask for help on the teamspeak server. 2. The coordinates are only useful in the Viggen, none of the other available planes have nav systems.
  9. There's an online map at http://gadget.buddyspike.net
  10. Yes, one frequency for the entire map. Usually: Blue ATC: 251, Blue GCI: 264, Red ATC: 124, Red GCI: 126
  11. Shift and double click. I've always thought it wasn't possible to select multiple units, unless you select the first unit in a group. TIL. ED: That is not how multiple select works, click and drag a box around them then shift and single click is the standard pattern.
  12. Usually yes, it helps to announce your arrivals and departures so that there aren't collisions on the runway. The GCI frequency is not the place, there is an ATC channel. Use '-freq' in the chat to see what the frequencies are.
  13. I haven't seen how to do this. ED should tweak the editor just allow one to make templates from any unit.
  14. I'd rather people not have signatures that takes so much space too.
  15. We should report bugs, this helps ED. What would help us (the users) would be some sort of feedback system from ED, that will acknowledge that a bug report has been seen and maybe some sort of update that will set our expectations. I think the current image a lot of people has is that we report a bug, it get's lost in the noise, and never gets fixed. This is likely not true, as BIGNEWY says, but we have no way of knowing. Asking us to 'have faith' is not fair to us, giving reasonable feedback doesn't cost ED anything.
  16. Are you not blacking out? If you pull too many Gs you'll black out (it happens very quickly in the F5)
  17. The Mig21 radar needs a long time to warm up. Also, make sure you flip the AC power switch AFTER the engines have spooled and only let the radar warm up thereafter.
  18. You can just change the loadout in the mission planner, take away some missiles and some fuel.
  19. Big hit in 1.5, not so big in 2.1 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Many many threads about this, use the search. Short version: MSAA-> Off, shadows -> flat or off, view distance -> medium or low, VSYNC -> OFF

    R-73 missile?

Its not only the launcher, you also need the avionics box inside the plane to be compatible with the missile. The one inside the BIS may or may not be compatible.
  22. +100 The text is very difficult to read. Maybe allowing us to change the font and background colour will help.
  23. I'd be happy if the labels were toned down a bit, like Dino is saying, you can not really hide at all. I'm in VR and even though I need even more help spotting things than screen-people, I feel that spotting targets are far too easy now. It is ok in WWII because everyone is on the same footing there but in this server the slow planes and helos are completely helpless once they're spotted and spotting them is super easy. You can tell they're being hampered by the fact that the map has been completely static for a number of days now.
  24. Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 9 I can't tell if joke or not. In VR the labels are huge blobs bigger than the planes. A bit annoying.
