Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 9

This is the problem. The labels are better than radar and that shouldn't be the case. Same on the Fishbed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Can we also get rid of the labels? They give the radarless yoo much of an advantage in this scenario. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

No, I think the plan was always to have a different BF server on each map. 1.5 is so broken at the moment they've put that server on hold until the issues are solved by ED. -

So, has enough time passed so we can discuss the targets / SAM / AAA / Bombers? Flying A2G missions are still pointless. Calling bombers is the only viable strategy. Can we maybe try bigger/softer things to aim at? Buildings, groups of trucks, fuel tanks etc. I feel the WWII Blue Flag has a nicer solution, to make up for lack of guided weapons. -

The gadget is broken. Still showing last night's status. -
Nah, no contest. The DR1 can do 115mph and has two 30cal machine guns. The F22 can go 1000+mph and can shoot and hit the Dr1 from way further. Also, it moves so fast the Dr1 prob won't be able to aim and hit it and the small caliber guns may not even damage the F22 appreciably. Basically, to win, the F22 pilot only has to do a supersonic buzz of the Dr1 to break it.

well here's your chance to F5 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
No, only the A10C and M2000 have this ability in game now.

You need to add the countermeasures pod if you want to release countermeasures. The AJS37 doesn't carry any internally. Not sure what you mean, the RWR will detect radar signals.

Hardly matters here, A10 has better self defense (better A2A missiles) SU25 has better A2G weapons and can fly a lot better than the A10. Either is still vulnerable to the F5 / Mig21 and you shouldn't be in a position where they can find and kill you. Besides, the A10 can hang 4x Aim-9M. -

DCS 2.1.1 - missions taking a lot of time to start...
lemoen replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in DCS 2.9
The first time it also needs to compile shaders and it may take a few different missions to load before the most common ones have been compiled. That may have been what you saw. The game won't run at all without the runtime in place. -

One question: Is there a reason EW radars have been taken out? Standard radar coverage on NTTR is pretty spotty and EWR will make a huge difference in this scenario, given the weak radars of the planes. -

I think the problem with adding the A10C is that there is no Red team equivalent that allows you to remove the targeting system. On the A10C you can remove the targeting pod, leaving it to only use free-fall bombs and rockets, on Red team, the Su25T has shkval built-in. Maybe adding A10C and KA50 without the use of targeting pod / vihkr isn't such a bad idea guys? (and Viggen hint hint) -
I think you can see it on the kneeboard.

Yeah, it involves spamming bombers and protecting the Hawk :D Honestly, 2.75inch rockets don't do anything. -
You mean to see them with your eyeballs? Because the radar really shouldn't see them. There's a reason look-down-shoot-down was highly sought-after

I agree about the rockets, but keep in mind that Blue's HE and HEAT rockets don't really damage anything besides unarmored targets, the S-8 rockets on the Mig and Sukhoi is much better, hence the reason the bomber was used so much. I think there is actually a really good opportunity in this scenario for strategic targets. Imagine each team has a fortified target (an area with factories?) and as long as theirs is alive they get to use A10A's with mavericks / SU25Ts with Vihkrs / Viggen / KA50 from one location. Destroying the other team's target removes their use of said airfield until it is repaired via crate* * you get the idea. At the moment, attacking bases requires heavy use of the bomber, which is not a satisfying experience. We want to blow the stuff up ourselves! So allowing us to unlock more powerful strike aircraft via the completion of a task will encourage even more teamwork and tactics! -
@Verde, I think they fixed upside-down radar thing, so you're not supposed to be able to see other planes against the background clutter easily anymore, regardless of your orientation.

The lag happens when someone joins the server. I think Ciribob knows how to fix it, requires pre-spawning a bunch of things or something, he said. Its great fun so far. Great dogfighting, escorting Hawk's on recon missions. CAS is a royal pain in the arse though, Shilka + Strela is a menace. -
Even if a joke, if I did this at my work, I would get a very strongly worded written warning and probably disciplinary action. I feel this sort of answer is not good enough and basically a slap in the face. Imagine: Client: Waiter, this steak has gone bad, you should probably tell management to check on your suppliers else you may lose business. Waiter: Well Sir, rotten meat is OK from time to time, we don't really want clients with weak stomachs here.
