  1. Hours? Days? Weeks?
  2. I think the Huey's start button is on the bottom of the collective and you can't see it or click it anyway, so you kinda have to use HOME or bind it to something you like.
  3. Problem with EDs solution is that you can’t peak under the ring, so you need to switch off nvg look inside the cockpit. They need to make the ring quite a bit smaller so we can see inside and outside, and have it work in MP. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I fly helos (All of them) on MP a lot and in Blue Flag and DDCS at least, here's plenty of non-shooting flying to be done. In Blue Flag you fly crates around and unpack to set up defences, repair bases, transport troops to capture etc. In DDCS you have to sling load crates to set up defences and convoys etc. Very little shooting happens from helos (besides the KA50 and two of the Gazelle variants). If you want to have the easiest to start and go, the Huey is the thing. You flip about 4 switches and it goes. It is quite slow though and is tricky to sling-load with. The Mi8 has a bunch of steps to do to get it to go, about the same amount as the Ka50, but after a while you can do them in your sleep. ITO sling loading and general comfort, the Mi8 is the best one, and is my favourite of the transport choppers.
  5. Choppers are hard to find on radar if they move slowly, in DCS. The rotors don't seem to have any extra effect in this regard from what I've experienced, usually the lock breaks when I come to a hover.
  6. Well, most of us play in VR with framerates of 22-45 and most of us don't get sick because of it. 90 is great! but it almost never gets there in DCS. I wouldn't worry about the 80Hz vs 90Hz. Its not a problem in DCS because most of us can't reach that anyway.
  7. No I just found it on the site.

  9. Yeah you can see this effect when using night vision goggles. The display (left eye?) shows a chunk of display below the illuminated ring of the NVG but in the rift you can only see the ring. It would make sense to not render that part, maybe we can get a few frames extra?
  10. There's been a clear trend lately and I think it warrants a look by the testers and devs. +1 Drexx
  11. While in MP your client has to calculate a lot more stuff than when in SP, it is much harder on the CPU in general (which you can see by the much lower GPU usage, it's waiting) so most of us in MP turn down the things that increases CPU, like view distance, shadows, MSAA.
  12. Known issue, look elsewhere for the threads. We've been informed it is mostly fixed internally, hopefully fixed at next update...
  13. INS Bombing still releases MK82 on trigger, instead of automatically.
  14. SA-11 launches still cause the same lag.
  15. Did you fire at the correct group, the northern one? The others may shoot the missiles down.
  16. To do the calculation correctly, the distance should be calculated referencing ground speed and the drag calculations should reference airspeed (IAS is probably close enough)
  17. The lights are borked for all planes in 2.5 at the moment, sadly. It has been reported though and I'm sure a fix is incoming at some point.
  18. An observation: The GBUs can fly a bit further because of their fins -> more drag but also some lift. Maybe as a first approximation that cancels out drag.
  19. You can move your default head position around with rshift-rctrl-numpad 2,8,4,6 then save the rctrl num0. You will find, either way, that there is no way to sit back in the cockpit AND see the entire hud. Choose one or the other.
  20. From Wikipedia: The radar horizon for the radar at a 1-mile (1.6 km) altitude will be 102-mile (164 km) and the one at 75 feet (23 m) will be 12-mile (19 km). Daniel, I think you need to sit down and think a little bit about the problem before posting all these threads. Most of them have pretty simple answers.
  21. This isn't a headset, just a display, according to the article. For those those that think that this will require multiple 1080Tis, think again. With Foveated rendering only the part of the display where you are looking will be rendered at full resolution, which for this display is around 3x that of the rift / vive. The rest of the display can be rendered at a much lower resolution because you don't need to see as fine details there, and you can't. Researchers reckon about 2x-3x increase in performance using foveated renderring, so it may not be as bad as one would think.
  22. Make sure your throttle axis only has one device assigned to it. It is possible your joystick or rudder pedals are also assigned to throttle, causing a conflict.
  23. Yeah it's screwed. Some threads about it over at the Polychop section. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. In our group of 10+ players, half of us have this problem. It could well be many 1000s of players being affected.
  25. Depth of field only works for external views.
