  1. If you can show me any other project of the same complexity that has so many improvements being worked on for your future excitement with an equally small team on an equally small budget that has NO BUGs, I'll gladly join your march. For now, I'm just happy with what we have rather than wasting my time being unhappy with what I don't have.
  2. You didn't mention which versions, but I think they did?
  3. No problems here with going fullscreen without that option. Maybe a settings-problem on your side?
  4. Ah cool. Thanks for the heads up.
  5. Wasn't the Dynamic Campaign Engine also in the list for 2020? I also hope for rapid further improvement of the ingame voicecoms.
  6. They already accomplished a very good release and you can't take that from them, no matter how dissapointed you are. Development takes time. Especially for the tasks at hand. The comfort prior to release was the simple fact, that the differential between the definite announcement and the release was pretty short, compared to the complete development of the cat. Now the time needed for features is the same, but you can measure it, it seems like the teapot never gets hot. If you think your comparrison is fair, is up to you.
  7. You might also check the autotrimmer-option in the gameplay settings, if you have an issue like that. I apparently had that option enabled accidently and stumbled across this thread while searching for a solution. It worked just like a roughly 5% deadzone for me and it was pretty deadly while flying helos.
  8. If you spend more time during startup than actually flying the aircraft, that really doesn't support the actual flight-aspekt of the simulation either. I startup most planes manually, but I do take shortcuts, wherever I can. As posted above, if I wait 12 minutes for a CV-alignment on the F14 or do the full checklists with lightschecks and stuff, that takes up a big chunk of the time I have with DCS. Time that I can not spend flying, which IMHO is the central aspect of a flightsim. And I'm not much of a dogfighter, so I'm surely no airquaker, if that's what you're implying.
  9. Looking at the current prices for SSDs in comparisson to what games + DLCs cost today, this might indeed be the more expensive alternative.
  11. New missions are coming up pretty quickly. Don't think of it like being cheated. Think of it to have the advantage to familiarize yourself with the map before the action begins. I also think that the map has many great challenges to master. Like landing your Harrier on the Burj Al Arab hotel. :music_whistling:
  12. Same problem here with 4k. I noted the mouse was greyed out. Alt Tab in and out or switching tasks didn't help. I had the feeling that the screen was simply very slow. It took about 20 seconds to show the news-tab. Edit: Seems to work now, after a third restart. Maybe there was something working in the background or some calling home not responding.
  13. Initially I also thought about rockets being misfired. When they walked around after the impact, though, there was a red-white band visible that had apparently been placed in quite a distance all around this truck. A command truck with nobody inside, it seems. Of course this is just my personal conclusion, but to me it seems possible, these guys sneaked into the training area. And hopefully were all just lucky to walk away from there.
  14. True. A Frankenthread at it's finest. :D I felt it worth a note, though, since the market for left-handed joysticks really changed a lot since then.
  15. With the current hype on Space-Sims, there are quite some good alternatives for lefties coming up. It depends a lot, though, on how much you want to spend: https://virpil.com/en/shop/sticks/vpc-mongoost-50-lh-flightstick-vpc#vina-tab AFAIK the grip also fits on the TM Warthog-Base: https://virpil.com/en/shop/grips/vpc-mongoost-50-lh-grip-vpc IIRC the Saitek Cyborg Flight Stick also was suited for lefties. I don't know, if it is still being produced, though.
  16. I'd love to see more trainers. But I would like them to have the ability to be joined by another player who does not have to own the module. That would be a great way to teach newcomers and show them the beauty of DCS. I've got many people to play RoF by this simple feature. Yes, sure you can learn flying in the Su25 or P51, too. But lets be honest: These two are probably not the kind of planes newcomers would like to master. And putting them in a plane and flying alongside in your own is not really the best way for teaching complex airplanes like those 2 examples.
  17. Very true. Still there WAS a noteable performance-increase even with the 1.5 engine coming from my old graphics card to the GTX 1080. And that was pretty much nullified for whatever reason. Well, ED will probably not waste too much time looking into 1.5 performance problems, with the merged version at the horizon.
  18. It's design to run VR with 2x FullHD at 60 FPS with full detail on modern games... When I got my GTX1080, it ran DCS with 120+ FPS. When I fired it up a gain a few patches later, I found myself with 25 fps. Same drivers, same settings, same mission, so that is most certainly not a problem with hardware.
  19. I don't know if this is really that much off topic. After all, the current status could very well be the consequence of exactly what was written above: a number of planes with different realism and simulation-depth scattered over a pretty long period of time. Planes that have barely any regional or chronological connection. And that again is quite the opposite of what the OP posted and - what I think - we all are wanting - possibly including ED themselves? But looking at it from the outside, it remains a question wether this is due to legal issues or simply a matter of available budget, manpower and technology. I guess we will have to see.
  20. Exactly my opinion. There is no AI ever as good and unpredictable as a real player. But if you set something up realistic or balanced, it's always different eras and simulation-details making a runup against each other. About the opponent: That is exactly the weak point, IMHO. Currently, we have Dora/109 against P51, Mirage 2000 against Mig21, Mig15 against Sabre or something like eastern A-10Cs against western A-10Cs, eastern full set of FC3 against the same aircraft with western nations, etc..... Sadly, the above is a list of 95% of all online servers. But none of them offers the feeling of a consistend battlefield. At least not for me.
  21. I don't think this is a problem of "too many aircraft". But IMHO the number of aircraft we have are scattered over too many simulation levels and time periods with barely any connection between them other than every single one for itself is a legend.
  22. The video posted above doesn't really tell you that much. That's the skylake-chips making a runout against each other and one AMD. If you got the "legendary" 2600K though, you'll most likely running the SandyBrigde, which has a much lower memory throughput than those CPUs. (Effectively almost half that of a modern CPU). Since the GTX 1080 scales pretty dramatic with CPU and memory adressing, the 2600K is most surely the bottleneck. That has not even to do with maximum usage, but with physical limitations of the chip. But it strikes me, that you are limited to 50 fps and mentioned that the 970 was in the same area. Are you sure that you have vsync disabled? 50 fps sounds a lot like vsync enabled on a flat-screen-tv via standard-HDMI cable.
  23. Ist normal. Musst einfach so rausgehen.
