  1. Sauber! Herzlichen Glückwunsch! Und danke für Server und Missionen (auch wenn ich aktuell kaum dazu komme, das Angebot zu nutzen :( )
  2. Do you seriously think that they would abandon the sophisticated software already present for the Cougar and return to a system simpler than a 5 bucks plug-and-play-joystick?
  3. Bah, a sign of weakness!
  4. Actually most historic single-engined planes from ww1 and ww2 have two levers as well, one for throttle, one for prop-pitch or mixture. So the question should rather be, why something like this was not supported much more earlier! The dual-stage trigger is great for WW2-planes as well, having guns and cannons on separate triggers. At least that's one of the features I loved the Cougar and the X52 in WW2-sims for. Considering Oleg's latest statements, that BoB is entering QA and awaiting a release plan of the publisher, I could be here before 2011.
  5. SimWare still has October 20th. :(
  6. Indeed ! ;) Nice movie - thanks for sharing.

    Kuky!

    Happy Birthday, Kuky!

  9. Just like in most games it's very hard at the beginning, but the further you get the faster you advance. In X3 the first flights took me hours and days to make some money. After the first few upgrades (larger cargo), I my profit doubled and trippled in a matter of minutes. Of course there are still high goals, but the start is the hardest. BTW: Did you install all patches? There was a nice cockpit-patch released when I was still playing the game.
  10. This is a schematic of the USB 3.0 connector: As you can see there are 5 additional contacts added to the rear. The forward four connectors stay the same. USB 3.0 cables are more expensive because of the additional wiring, but since they are also used for high-speed connections, they are usually better shielded. I use 2 USB 3.0 cables for that reasons and found them to be more stable than the standard USB 2.0 cable.
  11. LOL - that depends on how large the uploaded programming files are. j/k! Edit: They are downward-compatible. You can use an USB3 cable for a USB1/2-connection, but when using an USB2-cable to connect a USB3-device, you will only be able to use USB2.
  12. IMHO there are several similarities. In both games you can chose your career, start a company and make loads of money and play it more by organizing your financial empire or head out as bountyhunter or even as a pirate. Of course EVE has some major advantages over X3, since there are many more aspects that keep the game alive on the long run. Sure you can also go exploring and follow the X3-Storyline, but when playing with hundreds of players, the game is automatically much more dynamic and flexible.
  13. Smuggling is very profitable. :D
  14. Definitely not an X3-guru, but I played the game a lot. Sort of an EVE-Online for SinglePlayer. The game has a steep learning curve, but if you fiddle around with it, it's very rewarding. I was happy finding many parallels to good old Elite. Wow, that was a long time ago...
  15. Superiority is a matter of what you want to do with it. For most programs and older PCs/Notebooks, XP is perfect and more suited than Vista/Win7. If you want to use modern, hardware-intensive programs or games, Vista/Win7 is the best choice. That is, if you have the hardware the programs need, of course. ;)
  16. +1 to the two posts above. CH has a decent and longliving hardware and nice programming software, that is suited for quick programming as well as complex scripting. As Danish_Squid already posted, they also come in single controllers, so you can decide yourself, which stick or throttle you want. If you want it a bit more luxurious (and more expensive), I recommend to wait for the Thrustmaster Warthog.
  17. No, you don't.
  18. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Directx#DirectX_11 The difference between DX 9, 10 and 11 may not be automatically a visual improvement. DX is an interface and as such it makes things easier to implement better graphics. The best thing about DX10 and 11 is the multicore- and other modern hardware-support.
  19. Don't worry, the changes are minimal. The hype about Win7 being so much better and different than Vista is just  If you want to check that yourself, check the version number of your Windows 7-files and upgrades: It's Windows 6.1 :megalol: (Win 6 = Vista) The only major difference is the better marketing campaign.
  20. Way before USB here. I had my old CH Fighterstick some 14 years in use, or so. Great stick and I loved the fact that it had the programming stored in the device. That made it really easy to program and use - no silly startup of software to run in the background, like it's the case with most sticks today.
  21. Promotion and advertising in general is to raise interest in a product, not to give a detailed description of what the product is able to deliver. And the trailer does exactly what a trailer is supposed to do: Raise interest on a basis as broad as possible. And let's face it: Hollywood/Arcadish pilots from BF2 and ArmA1/2 are a lot more about explosions and low passes, than navigating at 30,000ft and killing targets with IAMs.
  22. :)
  23. Changing from DX9 to DX11 is not always a jump in graphics, but it may be a jump in rendering speed, IF you graphics card supports it. ;) But who knows what the change will bring for DCS?
  24. Superb! Very professional video!
  25. I think this a view from the players point of view. With a realistic perspective, based on statistics and hit-ratios, it's unlikely to engage tanks with Mk-82: If there is a single tank, it's most likely destroyed by a Maverick, if there is a group of tanks, a CBU will do the job. IMHO the advantage of the Mk-82 is the ability to carry a higher number and cover a larger area, whereas the Mk-84 is a good for a bigger punch. And besides that, the USAF doesn't have a major problem the NAVY always have to consider: Take-Off-Weight. So when the NAVY goes for a Mk-83 to reduce weight for a carrier-start, the USAF just choose a longer runway. ;)
