Yup i go over exactly this and why in my tutorial
Short answer: Wings swept past i believe 50* your maneuvering flaps no longer work, so less sudden changes in lift and less porpoising occurs.
I don't know, i cant find info on it. Jester doesnt use it, and even NATOPS says just this
Air-to-ground check — Coordinate With Pilot.
a. Select A/G.
b. A/G gun — OFF.
c. WPN TYPE — MK-84L.
d. Attack mode — CMPTR PILOT/TGT and MAN
Side effect of meh UI work on OBS' part. I just deal with it... or use to (new 2 pc setup for streaming/recording and I dont really do much VR these days)
This is an issue in DCS not the F-14, happens on all modules and broke in the update on the 6th. You can get around it by selecting the key or axis from the drop down box instead of pressing or moving it.
Only RWS and TWS show anything on the TID, PD Search and Pulse do not. Pulse is a very necessary thing to learn so using the DDD is also important, DDD is essentially raw data, TID is translated when available to translate.
The RIO can do Flares and Chaff
The pilot can only do 1 or the other depending on a RIO setting. The pilot has 1 button DLC engage/disengage which will dispense the selected CM type set by the rio when wheels are up (DLC can only be engaged when wheels are out)
So, typically rio does chaff and flare and sets up the pilot to be able to do flares. But if the RIO wants the pilot to do chaff he can set that up, but needs to remember to flip to flares before the pilot needs them if he isnt going to engage them ;)
Thanks for the warm feedback guys! Im going to try...keyword, try... to get a video about IFF up tonight, hopefully it will clear up a few things in that regard.
