  1. Who's that lot? Armchair experts like you and me? Because folks having experience in flying high-powered taildraggers IRL have mostly given thumbs-upses AFAIK.
  2. Please point out where you presented hard, concrete, quantifiable and unequivocal evidence in support of your complaints.
  3. The following quote from the AAF P-51 training manual 51-127-5 (p. 55, first paragraph) is somewhat vague, but interesting nonetheless: "In a normal takeoff, the rudder trim tab is sufficient to make the torque almost unnoticeable." The thing is, this PMiceli guy talks about bruised egos, while his own ego cannot even accept that he's wrong about this. Makes you wonder...
  4. As I thought Yo-Yo. Seems that folks claiming the D is a bad fighter just don't know how to operate her correctly.
  5. It has always been great at dogfighting, but it's not a turnfighter. You go A-to-A in the Dora, you fight in the vertical.
  6. AFAIK, no. Pretty pissed off myself, truth be telt. Here I am sitting in the Dora, talking in American English with my ground crew... the hell am I, an American defector or something? PS / EDIT: But then again, who gives a crap. Not flying DCS anymore anyway myself, due to stuff being either overtly broken or unfinished. So never mind... and who needs German voices for immersion anyway, huh?
  7. Absolutely true Art. But I'll still wait for DCS WW2 to mature instead of bailing out, because the flyables are so good. But the dev pace is indeed so glacial, that one can't help but feel a bit frustrated at times
  8. Well, DCS's flight and systems modelling is unsurpassed as far as CFSs go. So if you want a more realistic experience you choose DCS, whereas if you don't care about gamey sim-lite FMs and nonexistent systems, you choose something else with more gaming value. It's as simple as that.
  9. Right on bro! Fight the POWA!
  10. Huh? Well a Tempest then, it's a derivative anyway.
  11. Would love a Typhoon. Just wondering if there's any useful modelling data available for it, because AFAIK no flying examples exist anymore. Hmmm...
  12. Oh yeah. As I've said a gazillion times already, I'd buy a well-modelled DC-3 / C-47 on day one.
  13. Heh :D So am I the only one here who kind of likes them?
  14. RIP Bill Withers. The guy who made arguably the best soft-soul song ever, namely the venerable Lovely Day. May he rest in peace.
  15. Well, the mod doesn't seem to render any A/C at all I'm trying to sit in, so am deleting. But thanks anyway.
  16. Thank you much aplenty, Sir. Will download forthwith. S!
  17. Well yes, admittedly. But I OTOH kind of like the surprises too...
  18. Gladly, the patch notes have never mentioned every single fix and change released ;)
  19. Oh yeah, if you're running stable then the folder name is just "DCS".
  20. Delete all shader files in: C:\Users\<your username>\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\fxo C:\Users\<your username>\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\metashaders2 C:\Users\<your username>\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\metashaders\metafx And let the sim rebuild them (will take some time). Has helped in the past.
  21. Great! A step in the right direction. However, there's no information about any kind of speech mods there.
  22. Just wondering if this is possible IRL, or whether it would break the locking pin. I'd wager the latter.
  23. As I said, an oversimplification and you don't seem to understand that.
  24. To call the Dora "quite literally an A8 with a longer nose" is either an oversimplification or sheer ignorance.
  25. No need, because I was perfectly aware of my suggestion being a horrendous kludge to begin with. And yet, as an interim solution, it may well suffice in a pinch.
