  1. Depends. I shot down an AI insurgent Hip with just 2 short bursts from the L-39ZA's 23mm the other day and she literally went to pieces after the second burst. Maybe there's something wrong with the 15's cannons because the Albie's guns seem to work?
  2. I'm a groundpounder and I routinely destroy even light armor (BMPs, BRDMs and such) with the .50s. So nothing wrong with them as far as I've noticed. A more likely culprit IMO is the plane DMs not being up to par, and MP network packet losses may play a part as well. But there's nothing wrong with the guns / ammo per se that I can see at least.
  3. Incorrect.
  4. If you're interested in light CAS / COIN, the L-39ZA is your bird. Very easy to operate and fly.
  5. Although there's a consequential relation of sorts between the two, "new" and "added" are not actually synonyms.
  6. We wouldn't have received anything if there was nothing new.
  7. Flying the Dora? Well, the worst bug is when I ask for ground power and the answer is in American English. :o)
  8. Yeah, we've noticed. Like a thousand times already during the last week or so. So may I courteously suggest a change of tack? I.e. we take your underwhelmness as a default state of mind and you'll only post again when and if it ever eases up, since this would save both your keyboard and our nerves from premature wear and tear. What say?
  9. No idea of particulars as regards the C-101, but my Dora suffered an engine failure on takeoff recently as well and I too saw that "aw shoot" message. The reason, as far as I can surmise, was my forgetting to turn off the cold start switch and the engine thus receiving oil dilution fuel all the time! And we all know what happens to a hot engine without sufficient lubrication... EDIT: Oh, and I should probably clarify that "aw shoot" is a kiddie phrase for "aw sh*t".
  10. Indeed. Cue in the pipes laddie!
  11. Yeah Richie, that's the one I was talking about at least. Thanks for sharing.
  12. Oh yeah. Would love a DCS Peshka myself. Lots of hair-raising memories of divebombing in one in another sim long time ago...
  13. The problem is the workload involved. Making a complex mission with integrated scripting for randomization is a crapload of work. So trust me, we honestly DO need a dynamic content generator even if the benefits aren't obvious to all ;)
  14. Partly yes. If you want any added functionality such as new weapons systems etc. though, you'll have to pay for them. Or that's how I've understood it at any rate.
  15. No, you definitely shouldn't, but there seems to be a disrepancy between the Huey and the Hip as regards the amount of punishment each can take and still survive. Not saying this is necessarily incorrect though, but enquiring minds would like to know regardless ;)
  16. Ahem... https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4062915&postcount=63
  17. Not the same incident 9L.
  18. There's a RL video of one eating a Stinger or an Igla and just calmly flying away. According to some sources it did crash land later, but AFAIK the crew survived the incident regardless. So yeah, the RL Hip is indeed a sturdy beast.
  19. Huh? Didn't even start. Had I claimed something, that would've been a start.
  20. Just speculating here, but how do we know which kind of radio was installed in the machine ED based their modelling on? Because some high(ish)-powered transmitters may well use high-voltage AC for their RF output stages instead of just 24V DC, and hence the need for switching on the inverters beforehand. Just speculating though...
  21. Yeah, it's an OS level error on my end. Win7 sees the axis inverted for some reason. Investigating.
  22. OK. Still, this popped up all of a sudden after I'd updated DCS, and it's been ages since I've last touched any controller settings (or applied any OS updates etc.), so I'm inclined to believe it indeed is the latest patch. Weird  EDIT. Nuh, ain't the latest patch. See below.
  23. Absolutely OK for folks to prefer unrealistic furballing. Just as OK as folks like myself not preferring it in the slightest. Although it has to be said that I'm not currently flying DCS ops at all, apart from occasional circuits and bumps so as not to forget everything, so my opinion doesn't count ;)
  24. I concur, PG is the best. It's just an awesome map.
