  1. No, definately not. It's just that for me it works better if I have my own problems to solve, not those of a text book. It depends on what you want to do. Is there anything specific you'd like to achieve by learning Python?
  2. Strictly speaking Python is a scripting language, not a programming language, but that is just semantics. However, if you really want to get into programming then perhaps start with a real programming language before you start to play with a scripting language. Chances are that if you do it the other way around you'll continuously wonder why things are so overly complicated :D If you really want to get into writing code/scripts try to think of specific problems you want to solve. For me it never worked to work out the examples in a book. I had to have an actual problem from which I would benefit from solving. (This is how I learned a bit of MySQL, php and LUA to create the 51st stats page).
  3. No. Check config/export/lotatc2-2.0.lua and increase the SAMPLING_PERIOD and comment out all things to do with the log file (io.open, io.write etc). Moa will know how to do this.
  4. Thanks guys! Much appreciated!
  5. Grattis på födelsedagen EtherealN! Van harte gefeliciteerd Bart!
  6. I suggest you try to decrease the refresh rate and disable logging to file.
  7. You can also use continuous action but use something like random(5) to randomize the time between bomb drops.
  8. It would be great if ED could implement laser and IR pointer trigger actions, where we could script triggers to have ground units lase or IR point other ground units or trigger zones. This would be analogous to the smoke marker on unit or smoke marker on trigger zone trigger actions.
  9. Like I said, try a HMMV armament (not sure what it is called in game).
  10. Not all units are able to mark targets using all methods. Last time I tested HMMVV's can't designate by laser or IR-pointer. You would need to use a unit that has some kind of weapon, like the HMMVV armament. Note though that that will likely fire on your units, so in the advanced waypoint options set their ROE (rules of engagement) under options or command to HOLD, and make the unit invisible and immortal. Also, be sure to set these options before assigning the FAC. If this doesn't work I can make you an example mission, though there are already plenty of those on the forums.

    Kuky!

Happy birthday Kuky! Have a great day!
  12. This mod also works in A-10C, the only thing is that network.cfg is located in $HOME\Saved Games\DCS Warthog\Config\network.cfg Thanks to c0ff for pointing this out.
  13. So the AI is caught cheating in A-10C as well? We should ban his *ss!
  14. Congratulations 59th! It is a joy flying with you in Georgian Incident!
  15. This weekend we will organize another GCI weekend. When: Coming weekend, September 9 to 11, evenings from 1700Z. Where: 51st PVO FC2/BS Server [212.37.145.18] 51st PVO TS3 Server [51st.hopto.org:9987] We will try our best to provide GCI controllers during the evenings of the weekend, starting from 1800Z. Using the LotATC v3.0.0 software, controllers will be able to direct flights/aircraft to the battle area and provide increased SA to participating pilots. Everyone who joins our Teamspeak to fly the event will be given a flight callsign and a specific TS channel in order to keep the communications organized. Anyone who doesn't want to fly with GCI support is free to join the server as usual, but we encourage everyone to join as it's much more fun Our controllers will be using English and will not provide GCI in any other language.

    Grimes!

Have a great year Grimes! :drink: We need to catch up some time!
  17. You can replace the SA-10 launchers with Smerch units which should be able to move in a column. Then when the convoy gets to where you want it, use triggers to deactivate the convoy and activate the SA-10 SAM battery.
  18. Here are some screenshots from our flight.
  19. Interesting initiative! I'll try it out over the weekend.
  20. I'm sorry, but this is hardly an explanation. What is the physics behind fan blades being the most obvious reflector?
  21. Could you explain this statement a bit further? Why is something that is hidden inside the aircraft the most obvious reflector of radar energy? Yes it is rotating rapidly, but due to the ducts it is rotating in a plane perpendicular to the emitter/receiver.

    Crunch!

Congrats Steve! Have a good one!
  23. I suggest you search these forums to get answers to your questions. These issues have been discussed to death....
  24. I am not sure I agree with RvE releasing the video. You guys in 3Sqn found that pylon thing that could've ruined multiplayer if it had been made public but you guys decided to keep it to yourselves, and I think that was the right decision. I do agree that things were messed up and ED needed to know about it. I still maintain that the debate about ERI/LEAVU/GEAR is different because with FC2 we have the opportunity to add these scripts to the integrity check which takes away the fears of them being used for cheating. This was not possible with the FC1.12 seeker, chaff and barrell roll issues (though Yoda tried to find and implement workarounds with ERI). The thing that people must realize is that if we want GEAR to become main stream we have to think about how this will be received on public multiplayer servers, and I think the only way to make that happen is to include it in the integrity checks. Couldn't agree more.
  25. That's a cool idea also!
