You're running the engine too hard, especially from cold at low air speeds.

So much this. AIM-120C's are absolutely ridiculous. God knows what happens when the Tomcat arrives, but for the moment, something with that range - and EIGHT OF THEM - is just absurd. Especially considering it is a 5 button plane.

Because most people are rarely using their radars and a lot of the action happens low-down, the AWACS simply doesn't detect it. Stop relying on it and use your eyes, you'll start seeing things better. "Head down" in the cockpit is a bad thing unless you're well BVR in something like a Mirage or up.

It's just you but I had the same problem. Enable labels in game in the options, they should be on by default, then when you spot something, cycle Shift+F10 and you'll see, it's just a tiny black dot. Not a full label. 'Micro labels'

Please remove the ping limit or double it to 300 or something please. This is the only place you can fly an F5 and not teamkill due to no IFF. It is my fav server. I'm getting kicked at 190 ping.

Just got kicked for a ping higher than 150?? Never had that before, I'm in Pacific TZ so I can't do anything about that, what's going on? I never had a problem before today...

I'm posting this here in the hopes it helps someone one day. I have fixed my issue. Okay so I just followed a video tutorial on how to remove the Spring from the joystick, in order to lighten the load on the stick (Inspired by the 109, which is heavy to fly after a prolonged period of time, and encouraged by the potential of getting into helicopters) Anyway, spring removed I put it all back together, connect to PC and oh... It makes the connection "sound" (Win 10, x64 bit) but doesn't appear in my controllers, and DCS doesn't recognise it of course, either. Now I am worried. When I bought this, I got it second hand from Norway, and the guy that sent it over basically sent it in a giant box with not much real padding. When it got here, either through his own doing or during transport, the USB wire had split, so I have already done surgery on this ****ing joystick already. Fear of god in me, to the internet! Turns out it's going to be some kind of installation issue, so I think. I've installed drivers, tried to redetect it, tried different USB slots, all of that, and nothing. At this point, I'm thinking it is hardware related. "Reseat the joystick itself" I read somewhere - Okay, disconnect joystick, stick it back on.... hang on one minute. If the PS2 Female Connection on the base of the Joystick looks low, it probably is. That is to say, when I attach the joystick, the PS2 Female was so low it couldn't QUITE reach the male. Suffering from a lack of length, so to speak. Ahem. The solution for this is is to raise the Female connection. However, simply opening it up and yanking on it is hard on wires. I wound up taking the whole thing apart however I think it can be done more simply - Remove Joystick Remove base plate (Warthog Logo w/ US Air Force Logo) 4 Screws on bottom Unscrew both tiny Philips screws next to female PS2 connection DO NOT LOSE THESE Metal ring around PS2 Female should lift, maybe bringing PS2 connection with it Identify wire underneath coming off circuit board (it is the larger of the two) Feed this wire upwards, this should raise the Female PS2 Ensure when securing Female PS2 to make sure it is properly seated and perfectly aligned - The Joystick needs the 3 pins at the front, double check this. Ensure that you squeeze the Female PS2 into the silver holder firmly. I used a leatherman and VERY CAREFULLY used the pliars to squeeze them together. Reinstall silver PS2 holder/bracket Tidy wire underneath if needed, should be simple to tuck away Reattach metal base plate Connect joystick - happy flying. The reason the Joystick is detected but not recognized is somewhere in the stick itself, it needs to sense the buttons. So if you find you can see the "base" drivers, and that the Firmware update says "Device should have been recognized in HID" - this could well be the issue. I took it into my own hands due to buying second hand, and having no choice. On your own head be it.

Well today went better. I spent some time on a quiet server with 2 friends and had some dogfights in the 109 there. Then switched later to Burning Skies and managed to get three kills and land safely enough in the 109. Alright, 1 kill I never saw happen - just that I hit someone. Second kill was a good kill and the third was some poor sap in a seized engine Spitfire. Heh.

Hey DefaultFace, how are you that good? I cannot see anything flying around, and when I'm in a fight I just get trounced most times. I can manage the F5 and Mig21 okay (Mostly F5) but when it comes to warbirds, there is simply no smoke/afterburner to spot. I also find myself not holding energy like that, I just wind up flopping into a turn fight, ending up slow, and then dying horribly. And much like your Signature, it's not wrong at all.

Part of me is quietly optimistic for the 23rd - They appear to be doing a series of pre-release videos, and I bet they want it out by Christmas so they can drink their body weight in liquor and beer without worrying about working between the 26th and New Year. Here's hoping? #fuelthefire

83% appears to be full fuel without, presumably, the rear fuel tank or something, because its not got any armament atm apart from cannons.
