  1. the monitor works. its the alignment of the picture when in DCS; it either shows up misaligned or not at all. Check this out, this is with VR running in background.
  2. I need some help troubleshooting an issue. I had just installed a Winwing F18 MIP today and started experiencing this issue almost immediately. This wasnt an issue prior to this, so Im thinking it caused the problem. Ive selected the preset VR; this is one of my 5 custom profiles I made when this new updater was released and all of them have this issue now. On the main screen you can see all the options I have selected, so the profile is being read and interpreted I assume. On the other screens, I cant change any values, nor are there any values in place. The tabs Difficulty through Misc I can select options and thats it. All of this coincides with all of my profiles; I cannot alter these profiles for some reason or other, and think SimApp had something to do with it, but I obviously cant be 100% sure. Id like to know if I can salvage these profiles because I took a long time trying to create these profiles for specific reasons. I had made one change to my sim monitor profile and altered the resolution, nothing more. This was the resolution that SimApp told me I needed to change so I can run the MFDs plus I had to switch my monitor dropdown to WinWing.
  3. So I followed all of those steps, I cant get the bottom (or #2) MIP to display at all or correctly. Need help trying to troubleshoot, and I cant find much of the issue Im facing in order to fix this. If the monitor isnt working at all, then the right and bottom MFD are incorrectly displayed as the screens look like they're moved too far to the left.
  4. oh I spent 100 bucks on this hub, its quality. Same brand as the older one too so I figured it would be ok to use it. Nope.
  5. Ok, solved my own problem. I bought a new USB 3.0 hub to fit the new number of devices on my flight simulator and used the older power brick for it to save time. Didnt know they delivered different power volumes, so I installed the new power brick. Worked just like a charm.
  6. Im trying to get these things up and running for the first time and these monitors remain undetected. They are shown in Display Link Manager as being present, but no display detected on all 3 of them. I have checked the cables and they are all plugged in correctly and I have the USB cables sent to a powered external USB 3.0 hub. The drivers are installed. Definitely wondering if I missed something, but a display is a display...and detection should be automatic.
  7. for the most part its rigged up now. collective isnt here yet, but should be on monday. looking really good, feels comfortable, but damn if this wasnt an ordeal to put together. had to sacrifice the extension on my VKB MCE and none happy about that...but it is what it is. tomorrow I get everything working.
  8. So I am missing one.
  9. While I am looking through this thread, I am searching for info for what cable I need exactly to get these up and running. The set I have has 3x USB C to 3.0, and 3x USB 3.0 cables for a total of 6. All of these MFDs have a USB 3 and a USB C port. Since the MFDs and the buttons attached are two separate entites, I have to assume there is a cable for both, taking both type cables for power, and all 3 cables therefore are used. That still leaves me short on several other pieces, so what exactly am I missing here? There are two USB C ports on the UFC plus SATA with 1 C in use. The SATA cable from the UFC powers the HUD panel. The 3x MFDs has 3 ports (USB Cx2 with one of them 5v power, USB 3.0 for HDMI) with 1 USB C and the 3.0 in use. Is this the correct way to power these units? I think Im missing a few cables, but need to know first.
  10. This piece arrived today, so I'm opening it up and starting on assembly tonight. Chair should be here by Monday hopefully. Ordered a collective from K-51 and it's coming tomorrow too.
  11. I mean this front half. Oddly enough, this piece is coming in first today, the other half on monday I think.
  12. That's just clever. I have a warthog stick floating around the house and never thought to use it like that. I might have to try your method and get a second one. I'll have to mull that over, there's a couple things I'd like to get. My winwang F18 MIP arrived today. Is there a place in the front half of the unit to place a throttle at?
  13. I saw your makeshift TEDAC with two warthogs. Thats an interesting setup, actually. What did you use for the center monitor?
  14. Chose to get this monstrosity today. Have a Winwing F18 MIP coming alongside it too + K51s collective sometime this week. Ill put pics up when everything comes in...say, around the 4th or 5th. Would like to know if I can mount both a collective and a throttle on this thing simultaneously. I have two throttles, and one of them is straight up going to be a button box instead alongside throttle axes for twin engine helis.
  15. have you tried getting a track file from your guests?
  16. Ive always put them in the main directory.
  17. You wanted a tip, thats a great tip to follow. Pulling back on the right throttle will swing the nose to the left ever so slightly and so forth. You also use 50% less throttle movement just using one throttle, and you wont accelerate or decelerate as rapidly as using both throttles. All you have to do to counter that is just a tad bit of rudder pedal or rudder trim, and its not even that much. Take it for what it is or ignore it. Its not so easy in other aircraft, like, say the F-14. You can take those fundamentals to all the other aircraft, but you cant take the easy method for granted either. Those easy methods dont work in other airframes or high wind shear tanker patterns. You wanted a method to reduce sensitivity of the throttle, this method gives you 50% less.
  18. mentioned earlier you need the server track file and not the client side.
  19. best thing you can do to mitigate sensitivity is to reduce the throttle friction. You can also halve the sensitivity by spooling down or up one engine rather than two. The trick is to spool the engine in the opposite direction of where you need to swing the nose to hit the basket.
  20. were you able to change cameras without the file getting corrupted?
  21. does look kinda funky though, thinking its a different hub. Maybe its just the paint.
  22. Corsair Mk9?
  23. Yeah I dont get it either. Its not like there isnt a MiG-29 over in Nellis thats been there for years, not to mention theres a civilian here stateside that actually owns a MiG-29. Granted they arent 9-12's, but even still....a russian engineer passed on soviet state secrets to NATO specifically about the 29's radar capabilities years ago. I get it, but I would think Putin's opinion wouldnt really matter much about that. Maybe its the fact that ED resides in Moscow and Ukraine?
  24. can we get at least a probability scale on this? we talkin' like chances of getting hit by lightning, Yellowstone erupting, mac and cheese for dinner, or confirmation of the Fermi Paradox?
  25. so is this thing still going to happen? its been one big conflicting argument for a while now.
