well that video answered my question...THANK GOD.
-
does that allow me to overlay my mips over DCS and I can align the two at the same time? also I guess this means I need to run steamvr in order to use it as well...
-
Id like to know if theres a way to overlay the outside world over the vr cockpit to get a 1:1 adjustment, but dont think it has anything to do with this thread. Ill have to research it for a while and see if its possible...

I was being sarcastic, my apologies. You dont normally see anything outside of your vr headset because of the obvious.

Additional Training Missions for the F-15E
Hammer1-1 replied to Rudel_chw's topic in Missions and Campaigns
are any more missions planned for the future? -
OK, I submitted a thread on their steam discussion and asked a similar question. Ill hopefully get a reply soon with some answers, but Im gonna have to figure out how to use this tool. Lot of info here that makes no sense to me.

Ill give it a look and report back, thanks. Edit: would you know a way to A) save my monitor positions indefinitely regardless of monitors being powered on, B) removing taskbars from the MIPS only, and C) prevent the mouse from traveling to the smaller monitors?
-
I assure you I dont. Just reinstalled from scratch DCS and solved 95% of my problems. Ive had nothing but problems with my computer not wanting to boot since I put these MFDs up, and yes Ive narrowed it right down to the actual monitor causing me problems (my left MFD). Id still like to see a way to turn these things off without the need to physically unplug these monitors. My monitors being relocated every single time I turn a monitor off in some random space...thats a Windows 11 issue, and to solve that I need to go to Windows 10 (and believe me, that sounds very tempting).
-
Thats not ideal for the most part. Every monitor Ive ever owned had an on/off button; these things constantly run. On top of that, DCS keeps loading up on a ghost monitor that doesnt exist when these monitors are turned on. To fix that, I have to unplug these monitors to get it to show up on the correct desktop monitor, not to mention they reposition themselves every single time you turn them off. These absolutely should have an on/off switch.

Other than directly unplugging these monitors, is there a way to turn these monitors off? For some reason or other, not sure why...but Ive been having issues with rebooting with these monitors turned on. My boot always pauses at the Windows logo screen (as if there was one in Win11) and go no further unless I reboot again with these MIPS unplugged. Im not even sure if this is a widespread issue, but at this moment I have no less than 5 monitors attached to this PC now with no less than 20 external peripherals, 8 of them being the MIPS. If there isnt, I would absolutely like to see this become a feature in the SimApp software if possible. Im getting kind of old, and crawling around under desks just to disconnect my USB hub isnt exactly good on the knees or back.

sounds like a similar issue with the periscope in the Mi24 where you feel like you're looking through the scope crosseyed.

Next level racing HF8 haptic seat pad & DCS
Hammer1-1 replied to markturner1960's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
A quote from Next Level Racing regarding the HF8 "Regarding the HF8 and DCS, not all features are supported as DCS has a varying amount of feedback points." Im sending mine back since I cant get mine to work anyways. -
Fresh reinstall of DCS. Everything fresh. BRAND NEW 100% download, first run of DCS after installing everything from scratch - no skins, no missions, no nothing other than downloaded from ED servers. No SRS ran, no SimApp, no Vaicom, no nothing but DCS...from the DCS launcher. It doesnt get any cleaner than this unless I reinstall Windows 11. Issue still persists. Old saved games folder deleted, old DCS main directory deleted. The only thing that didnt change was the location of where I installed DCS. dcs.log

I dont know why, I think its to run in openxr in vr instead of going through SteamVR or something like that. As for the F-16 stuff, I couldnt tell you exactly why that is, I dont have any sound mods for the viper installed nor do I have the F-16 Barak mod installed. This basically IS a clean install at this point, and Ive run repairs 3 times now. As for A/V suggestions, I dont run anything on this machine except for Windows Defender and even then DCS is already excluded. Guess Ill just uninstall and reinstall from scratch, see where that takes me as it probably would fix a lot of errors Ive been seeing. Ill report back when finished.
