need track replay GC “Hey what are you doing!”

I assume its because the collision model with aircraft and the ground is old and clunky. Way back in the day of Flaming Cliffs 1.0, it used to be that only the runway on airports had a landing surface - anywhere else you would just 'splosion. It hasnt been updated significantly since then AFAIK, but its a tad bit different with movable landing platforms and how they're connected to the world at large. On top of that, the game engine thinks that the modeled vibration in aircraft counts as movement on the deck and the game differentiates between an aircraft truly static vs a moving object...and since everything moves now, the old clunky ground (collision?) model is now whats holding it back. See, I highly doubt you would have this problem in any of the FC aircraft on land, but anything with a professional flight model is going to be different in that regard. stupid rambling incoherent text I deleted but didnt get deleted for some reason or other -

I havent seen any notices from Windows Defender in any way...not really sure how to stop it either from doing what its supposed to do. How would I go about fixing it?

dont have an A/V installed

This is on a fresh install on a new computer. Dont have any other issues with any other modules, but havent been able to use it since the last patch. This is also persistent in both MT and ST versions of DCS. I checked the module manager and its not listed. Tried repairing, still cant get it working.

I did fine with an 8086k and a 3080ti. I just upgraded to a 13900K and didnt see much an improvement in DCS. Itll only really shine when MT becomes more widespread than anything, but as it is Im getting 100+fps with everything maxed out in MT in 2D. 3D I havent tried yet, but Im willing to bet its typical.

a year later? wow...been a hot minute since I last flew this heli then because I cant fly with this issue. Ill have to check and see if its still borked. -
I saw the ghosting really bad using all the motion blur options from what I remember. Didnt see it in the HT version though...

Happens when I rotate the camera around. This is in the apache training mission; didnt alter any settings after installing the patch. This is not in MT. DxDiag.txt

its difficult if not impossible. you need ground power and a huffer cart to start. most (not all) F-104s have a wind turbine that can provide hydraulic power, but unsure if it provides any electical energy. if it does, then Id say yes it can mid-air start but you would need some airspeed to windmill the engine at the right rpm.

Can anyone point me in the general direction on explaining how this system overclocks? Trying to figure out what efficient cores, performance cores, yada yada, hyperthreading and what-not...lot of things that never existed in i7 chips until recently like thermal velocity that I have a hard time even understanding. I see some scatterbench vids, but doesnt really do a good job explaining what these features are.

I think I found the culprit. Either I have a bad DIMM module, or I have a bad DIMM slot. Either way, Im thinking about returning both the board and the memory modules to be on the safe side. I cant remember what I used last night, but I checked the power output for the video card and it was showing 350 watts powering the video card so Im thinking the card is powered. With the motherboard not recognizing my external, and this weird memory thing, Im just going to play it safe. Its the first DIMM slot thats screwy, and from the looks of it I also have a memory stick that "looks" like it could be damaged, but functions. Ill report back when I have the new hardware installed. DCS managed to run on this rig finally with the problematic stick of ram and the DIMM slot empty, so Im thinking Im on the right track now.

Theres also a couple of other problems Im experiencing. I have a plug and play external hard drive that windows 11 doesnt recognize half the time, and DCS refuses to play even though I have all the drivers and gaming files installed. Im thinking the motherboard may be at fault. Its a very fresh Windows 11, XMP is loaded on the ram, yes those are the latest drivers installed, psu cables are where theyre supposed to be, and VSYNC is turned off.

Recently upgraded from an Intel 8086k, 128gb Gskill Trident and an Asus Maximus X Formula to an Intel 13900k on an Asus Maximus z790 Hero with 64gb GSkill Trident. Using 3DMark, Im comparing my new results from my older PC, and Im scoring almost 30% lower than my previous build. My cpu benchmark improved, but my graphics card looks like its underperforming very badly. Previously was at around 17000+ GPU benchmark, now its floating around 10300. I did switch to a new PSU and Im thinking that its under powered, but Im not sure if thats the case or not. I have this CPU clocked at 5.9ghz at the moment. My PSU is an Asus Thor 1000W P2. GFX card is an Asus RTX3080Ti TUF O/C edition. I have two 8 pin connectors attached to the card and they're placed correctly in the power supply, but Im not sure how to measure power output to the video card while its benching. A lot of power supply calculators tell me that I should be running a minimum of 1000w for this pc...could my PSU be bottlenecking me? What could I be doing wrong here? Im ironing out the kinks in this build right now. One of them is when I change something in BIOS, it doesnt like to reboot, but it just hangs....so Im also thinking the motherboard could be a problem too. Also Im not sure if this is significant or not, but I do have a PCI-E M2 controller in the last pci slot on the mainboard with 2 NVMe drives inside. Would that cut my benchmark down THAT much??

As per sig, I am upgrading to a new chassis, motherboard, ram, cpu, power supply...the previous setup is still a beast, but its an outdated beast nonetheless. 3DMark still has it listed as top 10% in the world when it comes to gaming, so its definitely no slouch for being almost 5 years old. Would it help anyone to do some high end benchmarks while I build this computer? Its going to take me possibly all week to get this computer built; I have all of the maps, all of the aircraft, maps, all the missions and campaigns. Obviously I dont have time to do the campaigns, but I can run a user built scenario specifically designed to benchmark (providing anyone has something they designed that can be used to bench). Here are the old vs new specs: Old Intel 8086k @ 5.2ghz (5.4 max) Asus Maximus X Formula z370 128gb DDR4 @ 3200mhz Gskill Trident @ XMP profiled speed Western Digital BLK M2 NVMe @ 3500MB/s New Intel 13900 (min speed @ 5.8ghz, will attempt over 6ghz) Asus Maximus z790 Hero 64gb DDR5 @ 6000mhz Gskill Trident Z WD BLK M2 NVMe Obviously its a few generations behind, but it can get some highlights of how much of a bottleneck PCI-3.0 is with a 4.0 compatible graphics card plus how beneficial clock speed can possibly be when compared to older generation high clocked CPU's. If there's any interest in the poll, Ill go ahead and run some benchmarks chosen by the community: take your pick of the aircraft, terrain...only thing I would ask is if someone can provide a benchmark mission to run. There are still a lot of things I need to do to finish this new build. Working until 2am doesnt really help my time, but I might just go a full water cooling loop instead of an AIW, plus I might get a 1200w psu instead of the 1000w I have replacing my current one. Should be done by the weekend if I go with the AIW. This is specifically to be a DCS World benchmark, maybe 3DMark & nothing else.

I bought the ram for 350$ while it was on sale. I had (still have actually) 32gb of the same ram @ 3200ghz. Ofc I have a lot of stuff accumulated over the years with this computer, along with 4-5 different SSDs, a 4 pack of HDD tb hard drives that can go with it, but it isnt going to be shipped. Ive been building on this computer since 2011 but none of this computer is from 2011...except my first SSD. Yes, it still has original equipment............. Anyways, the RTX3080ti is getting recycled into my new build. Ive had it a year, the next gen 40**ti series cards are going to be just as hard to find when they release, so Im keeping the video card until then.

So Im building a new PC. The old one is an 8086k in an Asus Maximus X Formula board, 128gb of Gskill Trident Z, a Thermaltake Riing 360 setup plus an evga 1000w power supply. Question is what would be a great price to sell it at? Ive maintained it pretty well, and its been heavy use...but its also still a great damned PC. The tower is old: its a Corsair 760T-ish, its kind of an upgraded case that had the aluminum side panel and added the plexiglass from a 760T but its missing the front piece for the disc drive...but have had it for the better part of a decade if not longer. None of the capacitors are swollen, plenty of life in the unit as a whole. What you people think I should sell it for? It held my RTX3080ti for some time quite well, but my new rig is going to have practically all new parts, but Im not selling any of the M2 drives. And in case you're wondering, Im getting a Cooler Master HAF700 Evo case. I start building it on tuesday.
