  1. So what are the WW2 servers doing then? Are they allowing labels on?
  2. In modules like the KA-50 it's possible to save flightplans & routes so that they can be reused, however it seems like that is not possible in multiplayer because the player can't modify the mission file. It would be super handy if this could be rearchitected so that players can control their route files and are able to create and maintain their own flightplans for each map. While there is realism in having to know how to create waypoints and manage your nav systems, it's frustrating and a loss of immersion to have to recreate them every single time you spawn, change roles, etc. I think it's possible for the server admins to edit their mission files and create flightplans for each capable aircraft, but why put the burden on them? Allow players to save their own local copy of flightplans to reuse on any server.
  3. I saw this once or twice, or something similar, when I put a market on the F10 map, instead of appearing on the map, it appeared in the upper left corner of the screen AFTER I closed the map.
  4. Here's a log file from yesterday. Lots of references to missing textures, json files, etc. i7 5820k | 16GB RAM | nvidia 980ti | 1TB SSD dcs.zip
  5. Yep this is why I don't think the problems with performance are memory related. When I watch the dcs.log file during startup, I see lots of timeout errors occurring, each one adding maybe 30s or more of wait time. I see errors like missing textures, missing json files, etc. This is on a completely fresh install.
  6. The Through the Inferno US server was running Nevada yesterday. It was actually fairly OK after the excruciating load-in times, but of course as more players joined the stuttering started.
  7. It is really bad and on the servers I've been playing, it's a common occurrence for most players.
  8. I haven't gone through all 300 pages of the thread :D but any thoughts on adding external camera view? I love to admire the different views while playing and like to see what my teammates are up to also
  9. Could be that the caucasus map is far more interesting and varied. But I was checking today and I did see a handful of nevada maps on the server browser.
  10. I'm starting to think he's not coming back :(
  11. I was having this problem, turns out I was forgetting to turn off Auto Turn to Target.
  12. Looking in the log file in the saved games folder, it looks like there are a lot of missing textures being referenced during startup, that seems to be the source of the delay at least from actively watching the log while trying to load in. I've tried dcs_update repair and update - no files are found to be missing. What I haven't done is try to go through the zipped files in the various directories and find references from missing files in the log, thinking that perhaps some things aren't being extracted that should be during the installation process. The last thing I want to do is to have to delete and reinstall this whole thing again. Apart from the massive time it will take to get everything reinstalled, all modules reinstalled, I don't want to lose the control setups again.
  13. I am having similar problems. Don't know what was going on as I was able to log on to MP servers the other day and play OK, though under 2.5 it has consistently seemed longer and longer to connect to the servers.
  14. ka-50 is great, my favorite module. Kind of sucks at night though and if a fast mover ever gets an eye on you, good luck!
  15. aw man 2.5 running Open Conflict would have been awesome
  16. Gotta go with the shark with the 2.5 caucasus map ... looks like it's going to be amazing for helis
  17. The "Through The Inferno" servers (one each for caucasus and NTTR) are pretty good. They are PVE focused however, but pretty dynamic in terms of mission spawns. The NTTR has a bit more advanced area on the north part of map for experienced players ... not sure if there is PVP there or not.

    F-15E?

where do i send my money
  19. Mirknir, thank you for all of the work you've put in to make a place for people who just wanted to learn the game, with a wide variety of aircraft and a nice big map with easy to find objectives. Yet there was always that pvp risk if you strayed too far. In my mind one of the best balanced servers around between PVE learning for noobs like me, and PVP battles for the more adventurous. I think there are some things you pioneered that other servers should take a look at, especially the spawn system for missions and how you included lat/long and count of units, etc. It was a good mix of providing necessary information for people but still requiring them to have a look around and develop their SA. It's a blow to the community to not have your server on that list anymore. Best of luck and I hope you can start to enjoy the game again as a regular player!

    F-15E?

The instant it goes on pre-order I will buy
  21. Hm I've been flying on 2.1 and haven't had that problem.
  22. I bought the viggen because it can carry a bomb called Mjölnir
  23. I notice at least in the servers I play on, that the su27 can't mount the SBK-25 rockets (I think that's the right name) but the SU33 can. SU33 seems a little bit better for multirole, though with no laser guided munitions its effectiveness is limited at best
  24. I do most trimming including course corrections with flight director on. That way the heli isn't trying to fight me while i reorient. So, FD on, reorient, click trimmer, FD off. I dont' like click and hold method because i've found that sometimes the trimmer button will release if I'm not holding it tightly enough, and on my x-55 hotas my hand does tend to slip as I'm moving the stick around. What really blew my mind about the trimming and autopilot system in the ka50, is that flight director off is also autopilot. It will not only remember the trim but also the heading and will fight to reorient to that heading if you move the stick. What the cyclic/collective display (if you're using it - right ctrl + enter to toggle) shows as the A is the route following autopilot. And by the way it follows your PVI waypoints, not your Abris waypoints - they aren't linked!!! *mindblown gif*
