I just got it a couple hours ago. I already doubt you'd regret the purchase, it's a pleasure to fly.
-
Checked control bindings, everything's right. Tried it single player from several positions (ramp, runway, hot) no problems. Unless I smash the throttles to the wall immediately, she goes pretty much straight down the runway. It's only hitting me like that in multiplayer.
-
I'll go over everything again here shortly. I've been out of town, so my pc was inaccessible.

That, I do not recall the specifics of. However, there was zero impact from crosswind during taxi parallel to the runway.

The other night I attempted flying the F-5 on multiplayer. I don't have much time in the seat of this aircraft, hence the thread. Before I state my issue, I will say I am aware of the nosewheel steering requirements, etc., as I can fly mission editor missions (NTTR) without issue, haven't messed around in 1.5.x, so don't know. Ok, on to the problem. I get her loaded, fired up, and taxi to the only runway. Line up, throttle up, keep her on center, rolling, achieve IAS where rudder should handle business, neutral rudder input, release nosewheel steering, and she makes a hard left. Rudder input does nothing, off the runway, wasted airframe. Repeat as above, maintain nosewheel steering a bit longer, same thing. Repeat as above, maintain nosewheel steering. Goes into some kind of Tokyo drift down the runway, same result. Repeat as above, disengage nosewheel steering at a slow roll with zero brake input with a centered lineup. Throttle up, hard left. In a nutshell, I cannot get the F-5 off the ground in multiplayer for love or money. In single player, everything functions as it should. So, am I doing something wrong or is there a problem?

Even with the perceived and real drawbacks that come with VR...I can't ever go back to a flat screen.

I saw something interesting regarding this topic recently. I had my touch controllers still active when I started DCS, though I was unaware of the fact. I took the A-10C, and the touch controllers manifested as gloves in the cockpit. You could move them about, but they didn't position properly to do anything. They were flight style gloves, so it seems they belonged in game. Would have been cool to be able to use them haha.

This seems to have done the trick! Thanks a million!

I submitted a ticket, it looks like they're already aware of the issue.
-
I posted it in the 2.x thread, but, I fired up 1.5x this evening, same thing in both versions. Since the latest updates, the cursor has something strange happening. It bleeds to the HUD when applicable, but even when it doesn't, it's aggravating, as it's on every screen.

Amazing work. Really looking forward to this.

Yes, I mean mods. I was using VSN mods just for something different offline. And some skins, like the Kilgore skin for the UH-1.
-
So, I did everything according to the steps you laid out, and without enabling anything, everything launched and worked fine. However, when I enabled apps, and went to restart, well...DCS no longer starts. I did a cleanup and repair, to no avail.
-
Nobody knows a workaround for this? Basically, just stay on non-IC servers? Nevermind; I see it's an issue that's been reported and ED is working on it.
-
So, my question is something like my title. I have some of the VSN planes installed, and they're fun for the single player. But online, I run into integrity check issues, and while I can't recall the exact reason, it was something about user/saved games/(aircraft)/textures. I don't have them installed to the main directory, only the saved games. Is there any good solution to this? I can't figure out the JGSME or OVGME things. I'd like to be able to use my "mods" in single player, but the multiplayer is pulling me in.

VSN flyable aircraft mods

I had to clean up some files, after that, the new method worked great. Thank you. -
VSN flyable aircraft mods
MurderOne replied to razo+r's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Since this latest update in 2.1x, I can no longer fly any of these. Previously, everything I wanted to fly, I could fly. I'm not sure what to do to make them work again. Everything works in the 1.5 version, but 2.1x is definitely no joy. First pic is obviously a Cat over Vegas prior to the last update. Second pic is pretty much everything I can fly in 1.5x... -
Well, I too updated finally to the latest build, and lost my mods. I am not any sort of computer programming type person, so tried my hand with the ovg deal, tried moving things, no joy. I certainly wish this was easier to do. I would rather spend my time building missions and flying things around than trying to figure out where to place my mods. No more VSN_(anything) for me, for now. Unless I stay in 1.5, where everything still seems to work. But 2.1xxx is so nice...

Seems we're all looking to a similar goal here, right? A-4s in the sky. As already stated, the more the merrier! I dig the little scooter, though I never worked with them. Hornet A thru D, all old BUNO, Fitron Comp Twelve, adversary fleet training squadron. That said, bring in the A-4s and I'll love you forever Hahahaha.

I'm really looking forward to the Cat coming to be. They hadn't been retired yet when I was serving, and we shared hangar space with 3 other squadrons, all Cats. Watching Cats and Hornets in the break always, no matter what, every time, made you ask yourself...how does such a big piece of equipment turn so tight? Watching the pre-deployment adversarial training from the command center, you would always think "There's no way these 14s are going to turn with the Hornets", then...surprise. An amazing aircraft, I'll definitely be in line for her. So, just want to say thanks for doing this.
