  1. My default sound is set to my speaker system
  2. There's no mention of it in the update patch notes thread, but this update has moved my audio to my rift headset (Don't care for this). Is there a way to change it?
  3. 1080ti
  4. I don't know that I'm doing anything special, though I have ASW disabled by default via the oculus debug tool. If you don't know where that is, it's in C (or wherever you have it): program files/ oculus / support. I disable Steam prior to launching DCS. I run FXAA in Nvidia Control Panel, Anti-Aliasing off, maximum pre-rendered frames to application controlled, power management at prefer maximum, and in the last line virtual reality pre rendered frames, I have set to application controlled. I also habitually hit ctrl+1 when I enter the cockpit. Edit to add: I also have set the resolution on the in game controls to 1920x1080 instead of the native resolution for vr.
  5. I can't believe this isn't a full blown retail product yet. It gets hot in there, and we all seem to be home brewing solutions. I like this solution.
  6. I'm not up on all the details, so this question may be completely irrelevant. That said, if the Russian aircraft are classified, what about export variants?
  7. I agree with the above poster. MSAA off with deferred shading. I get pretty solid vr performance, and definitely no disadvantage with MSAA off. In fact, I'm not running any in game AA.
  8. Awesome work. I wish I have a quarter of the skill you guys who do this have. Looking forward to it!
  9. Use your imagination. Everyone fit for flight looks the same in a flight suit.
  10. Everything works on my end with the exception of the air brake. The original key binding does nothing, and the assigned switch on my warthog does nothing.
  11. What a fun little jet...I dunno what else to say. I can't get the speed brake to close though.
  12. This looks like it's an amazing compilation of work, passion and dedication. From the videos, it looks like a "module". Looking forward to it!
  13. That's odd. I just ran my A-10C last night for the first time on the release version and had no issues with them.
  14. Let's see. Hornets? Tomcats? Carriers? The Gulf? Yep. I only fly multiplayer occasionally, and I spend most of my time in single player. I'll be snapping it up for sure.
  15. Simply stunning. I look forward to my own personal A-4 "Goshawk".
  16. Are you increasing the percentage of fuel on the slider in the rearm menu?
  17. I don't know whether it's sam related or what. I know that setting up a Patriot and then running increasing number of enemy aircraft over the site results in dcs grinding to a halt. It happens whether you're watching the launcher, the missile, the target aircraft or from your own pilot point of view.
  18. I don't personally believe in waiting for the next generation of anything. Why? Because I would always be waiting. My Harleys are older, but I get to ride them now, I don't need to wait for the next model year. GPUs are the same...wait for the next gen. Then the next gen gets pushed back. There are, as everyone has mentioned, downsides. But the immersion, the "being there", it's worth it, in my opinion. Will bad guys in mp get the jump on you? Yeah, probably. I guess it's all in what you want to get from the situation.
  19. I love it, I can't see ever going back to a screen as an option.
  20. I just had the Perry hit by everything the Tu-142 would drop and keep on sailing as well.
  21. Selecting full screen in settings, if you fly in VR, makes no difference. You still have to alt+enter.
  22. I don't know how to attach a mission. A simple way to reproduce is set up a Patriot, then start sending planes over it. Grinds to a halt with multiple aircraft. System specs are: Win10 64, i7-8700k, 1080Ti, 16g ram @ 3000, DCS on M.2ssd. I play in Oculus Rift as well.
  23. So, if I run any map on 2.5, and just run air to air, or even some ground units, I have no issues. Smooth gameplay, fairly steady fps, etc.. However, I had run a setup with a few SAM sites, and that's when I ran into issues (fps drops to 1 then back up to normal). I have tried to search regarding this but it's not showing me anything. So following the mission with the SAMs, I created a clean mission with an AI aircraft and one Patriot site. The AI was set to fly straight over the Patriot, and the Patriot would fire at the AI. With one aircraft, there seemed to be a slight stutter as the missile neared the aircraft. When I increased the number of aircraft, that slight stutter became a stop, reading 1 FPS, and it was prolonged. When it got moving again, the missile impacted the aircraft, and things returned to normal. I have tried this with the Hawk and Patriot, and AI aircraft have been assorted; everything from MiG-29A to whatever big old Tupolev turboprop. Results are always the same. I'm not maxing out memory, cpu, gpu, or disc read/write/whatever. I can't figure if it's a bug, glitch or ?
  24. Completely agree with the value sentiment. We definitely get a lot for our money with DCS.
