+1 for me in the Rift CV1
-
oki dok, many thanks for your answers!
-
But it needs to have an enemy active radar emission in order to get locked on to it, don't it?
-
Thanks Iron for your quick answer! Would it work with the TV pod as well?

Is there currently any way to launch a Kh-58 from the Su-25T? Manual says nothing about it ...

Dear people ED! My feedback of patch 2.7.0: This patch is an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G piece of software! Weather is a game changer, graphics still runs with good FPS and the smaller patches (apart from weather) and the additions are really nice, some of them long awaited, finally they are here. Despite I had a lot of crashes after installing the patch on the first evening (I was near giving up), this nasty behavior disappeared (somehow) on the second day, after installing a new graphic driver (on the first day and going to bed afterwards in a sense of "everything will be good someday"). Wonder? I don' believe wonders, but it works now Currently I am superhappy about having it installed. Kind regards, TOViper

Can updates be stopped and re-started from same point?

Good luck with 2.7! -

Yes, for me it worked fine. I had to pause downloads for system preparations, and was 3 times out of three able to resume downloading the update. -
2.7 Viggen Patch 14-04-2021 Feedback Thread
TOViper replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
No, loading a mission a second time crashes DCS currently https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/267836-2704625-open-beta-crash-at-second-mission-load/page/2/?tab=comments#comment-4626229 -
2.7 Viggen Patch 14-04-2021 Feedback Thread
TOViper replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
I struggle with this information, because IMHO the bug that the AB always goes out at 14k was never fixed (despite it was marked as FIXED). It currently have no information about what exactly was fixed. I think HB might have meant that re-light is again possible below that altitude after their fix (at least this is what I can see right now in latest 2.5.6.OB). -

old bug, please look here if your situation fits to the ones described in this topic: https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/188454-fixed-ajs-37-viggen-afterburner-issue/?tab=comments#comment-188495 -
Same for Baron Squadron (3 people). Saturday would be perfect. Just asking ...

I did many test flights now, and one question came up: Why do the Tomcat's AIM-7M do not HOJ, while the F-18's do HOJ?
-
Hello unknown! Unfortunately, when I play your track file "F14B_AIM7M_SU24_ECM_OFF.trk, the lock breaks after a few seconds, and right at this point the missile goes straight ahead (which I consider correct behaviour). The lost lock is also confirmed by Jester. Maybe there is something wrong with playing TRK files. Can you provide a video of exactly what you stated above for the second flight ("- me in F-14B shooting AIM-7M(Jester STT lock, never loosing it) at Su-24 with ECM = off(advanced waypoint actions) -> my AIM-7M lofts, tracks and kills the Su-24")? The other two TRK (flights) behave as you described. Here is my mission, and my 2 tryouts, which work fine: F14B_AIM7M_SU24_ECM_OFF_TOVipers_tryout.trk F14B_AIM7M_SU24_ECM_OFF_TOVipers_tryout2.trk I tried flying against TU-95 with ECM=ON as well. The AIM-7M makes some pitch up and down after leaving the rail, then looses track (which someone could consider as correct behaviour I think): F14B_AIM7M_Tu95_ECM_ON_TOVipers_tryout.trk

Hm... can imagine the following scenario: After engine died at high altitude at low speed, and loosing normal means of trim by not using the RAT for any reason. At lower altitudes the engine was re-started successfully again, and then flight back home might continue. Something like this ... Maybe we find some RL pilot of the beast for experiences with that system around in these humble forum?

Tape player differences with Viggen and F-14
TOViper replied to JCofDI's topic in Heatblur Simulations
For me it just seems the Viggen is playing the song at a lower bitrate, nothing else. Standard Ferrometal tape instead of Chrome tape casette. I love it! -
+1 If that became reality, I would start buying them. Otherwise I would not buy any of them.

Hereby find some pictures, I have problems with canopy reflections over water. They apply to different aircraft (FC, F-5 at least), and different WATER settings, also different maps (at least CAUCASUS and SYRIA).

Update: Static weather, ISA+0, QNH 760mmHg. BESLAN airfield RWY 10 Elevation: 525m (according to F-10 map) Altimeter showing ~520m when Kollsman window is set to 1013mbar. Seems OK 525m ~1720ft rule of thumb: 27ft per mbar pressure (in lower pressure areas) equals 63,7mbar 1013-63mbar = 950mbar Altimeter showing 951mbar, which is 1 mbar more than required, but satisfactorily BTW: Standby altimeter still not showing the same values as the main altimeter. Deviations from ISA indeed HAVE influence on the standby altimeter. See attached TRK files (ISA+0, and ISA+10) 2021-03-19_Viggen_ISA_plus_0_Altitude_Check.trk 2021-03-19_Viggen_ISA_plus_10_Altitude_Check.trk

Still working as written above, and this time I even used more airspeed, see TRK. 2021-03-19_Viggen_TOSS_bombing_works.trk

During testing RR bombing on my own with newest OB, and also watching the TRK file using the current OB, I wasn't able to reproduce this issue. I remember having this from time to time in older versions of DCS, but I think it must have been solved during any of the last few updates. I therefore recommend to close this thread @RagnarDa P.S.: What I have experienced is that sometimes on the first run the 3km distance line doesn't show up on the A2 display, and after releasing the bombs it magically appeared. I am on this certain issue, but that's another story, and apart from this thread.

Ah, I understand. Indeed, I don't have an answer to this particular question. I personally suggest and prefer to do procedures the correct way, and if then something goes obviously wrong, posting it. If this question is really important to you, and in order to get more attention from readers (because currently it is located within another report), you may create a new thread regarding not following procedures and your observations / outcome. Maybe you will then get it answered by someone ... good luck!

I did. You wrote: "In CCIP (PLAN w/ HD bombs), I get one bomb release on press of trigger, then all other release when I lift the trigger. Edit: Owh, can it be because I go to ANF, which I shouldn't? -.-'" I wrote: "Works as intended. ...... HD bombs PLAN/ANF/MEDIUM/B1: bombs are released" What is missing for you in order to think I didn't even address your question?

At least it leaves enought roome to limit IAS to 1350 km/h when in zone 3.
