Webcam only head tracking for BS without IR
DTWD replied to tank000's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
http://www.free-track.net/english/ Works in BS now with the patch apparantly. I would also hardly call TIR "bulky". Right time for bed now. -
The other way round isn't it? Vista got a higher performance with using both cores. And that is with only 2GB in...now imagine if he had 4+GB memory handling would start plaing a bigger role.

Can you get AA on? It will really help your visuals. And if that CPU is anything like the Core 2 Quad (well it is technically) you can overclock it to 3GHz really easily, which is always going to help.

Macca, What OS are you running? There is a version 3 beta that may help you out. I have no idea what it does, or what it's for, but I found it anyway: http://www.3rd-wing.net/LOCFG/LOCFGSetup_beta3.exe Regards Paul

Hi Gary. This is for Window OSs XP and up. Run BS and ALT+TAB back to the desktop and then press CTRL+ALT+DELETE. If given the option choose task manager, if not task manager will open. If not selected choose the Processes tab and look for the BS executable. If you can't find this easily go to the Applications tab and right click on BS and choose "go to process", this will then take you to the Processes tab and have the BS exe selected. If it doesn't find your BS short cut (on the computer, basically whatever you click on to run the game) and choose properties and look for the "Target" path under the short cut tab. The name of the exe is on the very end of the text string. Back in Task Manager now select the BS executable and right click on it, you will then see a "set affinity" option. Click this and choose which core(s) you want it to use. If they have a cross or a tick in them they are active. If you don't have a "Set Affinity" option chances are your on a single core CPU. Regards Paul

Sweet! Cool flying, nice edits and camera angels. Just a word of warning though, either my download was duff or there is a glitch in the file, I would imagine most players can power on through (mine did) but it could drop out about half way through if not. Regards Paul
-
Looking good as usual! Regards Paul
-
Downloading it now, but be aware you can't right click on the file as it takes you to the HTM file. Just click on it in a good browser (FireFox) and it offers to download it or open it. I imagine in IE it will try and play the file regardless. Regards Paul

New Tutorial:: F-15C AN/APG-63 TWS Mode
DTWD replied to Ironhand's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Cheers. Downloading as soon as I navigate on over to your site. Regards Paul -
Then don't move your head so much :D You can tweak your TIR settings to make it harder/impossible to do this as well. Regards Paul
-
It could maybe be tweaked slightly, the repeated requests are annoying, but other than that it's a great feature. Regards Paul

The admin rights thing is fine, I can live with that, I have never had to disable UAC for anything. Regards Paul
-
If you don't know what it is chances are it is on. It's basically the thing that pops up and nags you about everything. Thing is I would rather have the nag than something running when it shouldn't. Regards Paul
-
Good good, fingers crossed. Regards Paul
-
Nothing? Has everyone bought the CIS version and doesn't care anymore? Regards Paul
-
Have you tried leaving UAC on and installing it on the root? i.e. c:\DCS\BS instead of C:\Games\DCS or C:\Program Files (x86) etc etc etc Regards Paul
-
Hmmm I am going to have to respectfully completely and tottaly disagree with absolutely everything in that post :D Regards Paul
-
Wahoa there, you have to switch UAC off to install/play this game? Are you serious? LOMAC/FC hasn't got a problem with UAC why does BS? This isn't good news. Regards Paul

Let the countdown begin... A bit ago we were told that the BS manual would be out a month (or so) before the game was released. Since then there have been a few "issues" with piracy and ED responding with comments of making the western release more secure and working on a demo to plug the gap. Well the manual was released yesterday and if everything was the same as it was a few months ago we should be seeing the game in around a month. What I was wondering is, is this month time table still in effect or have things changed now? And if the month time is still on the cards and you wanted to release a demo before the game was out does that mean we will be seeing that really soon? If the time table is drastically different is there any news on some fluffy expected release date of both demo and the full release? Regards Paul

X52 Pro - Profiles in game or in SST software?
DTWD replied to V1Rotate's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Use the SST, you can have several profiles and modes all setup, it's all very good stuff. Make sure you get the lasest software and drivers off the Saitek website. You will probably find it easier to bite the bullet and do your own profile, I have downloaded several for LOMAC and find they don't quite work how I want and change one or two options, but that then impacts on other buttons and so you change them. Before you know it you have changed a load of keys that you might as well have just started a fresh. Regards Paul -
Holy smoke!what happened to this mod?
DTWD replied to skarden's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Wow...cheers for the link, that terrain looks amazing. Is there any news on these downloads and release dates? I don't want to miss these when they are released. It also appears the mod mentioned in this thread is doing what I am trying to do (but better), so does anyone know what exactly what this mod is? Regards Paul -

DTWD replied to skarden's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Anyone got a link to this? I found the thread but don't have the time to re-read and read parts of it to find what mc_smile is reffering to. Many thanks Regards Paul -
I had a problem a while ago, I had a log on for this forum and a log on for the http://www.lockon.co.uk all of which didn't work. The certificate isn't really a problem, just accept it. The certificate is for the russian version of the site and not the english one so it's not correct. Not a biggy, just register. If you can't (it may be some funky setting in IE) try FireFox as that's what I used and it worked fine although admitadly a few months ago. Oh and I have butterflies in my stomach...it all feels so close! Regards Paul
