A-10C Pilot Qualification Course Missing Phases on Steam?
ZeeMan90 replied to Horns's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Phase one basically means "read the 700p manual of the warthog" :D For step 4: as it is not longer for sale try this: (A) https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/699221/ (B) https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/929766/ -
You can also buy the DLC campaign "The Ultimate Argument". It has 20 missions and only costs $9.99 (or € in my case).

Perform Take-Off and EFATO
ZeeMan90 replied to CrackerJack's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
In the Training of EFATO I took off with my FPM on the 10° ladder. Radio said "your pitch is good". In the qualification itself I did the same and the speaker said "your pitch is too high!" In my next attempt I switched on the stat-bar with ctrl+y. During takeoff I achieved 10° according to the stat-bar and got the "pitch good" message. Strangely the FPM was on the 5° ladder on the HUD. So my question. How do I reliably read the pitch degree on the HUD? -
Whatever floats your boat sir :) For me I am it was important to get the slew control working due to being accustomed to it for MAV and TGP control on the A-10C. I hoped that I could map it for the Mirage as well. Thankfully it is possible. The first few hours I spent getting used to reversed controls but then I noticed the Axis setup menu which allows you to invert the axis. So If you push the slew control down the cursor will also move down and vice versa. For horizontal movement it is not necessary to invert the axis. PS: In the beginning I had DMS on my HOTAS setup for the cursor as I wasn't aware how to map the Slew control :D

More like a slew. I have set the Axis for TDC vertical and inverted the Y Axis.

As I have no means to compare the real world frames to each other, only in numbers, do you have sources for your statements? I would like to educate myself on that matter.

Hey guys, currently on the verge of finishing the campaign and being at 95% success rate I wonder what the 100% parameters are. From getting different results I assume that landing and parking on the designated spot will give you 10%, AAR up to 25%. In Mission 03 you probably have to do a successful AAR, otherwise you only score 75%. In Mission 10 I intercepted and splashed bandits, even the transport plane and its escort. After choosing to give AAR another try I succesfully made contact with the Tanker and getting a transfer complete immediately after contact (as I have flown this one on unlimited fuel :D) and still only got 80%. In Mission 11 I drifted off the taxiway and was stuck in the field hence only getting 90%. In Mission 12 I only got 85% although the strike came trough and I succesfully RTB'ed. Have you made different experiences with getting a 100% score or less?
-
For some reason this is doing the opposite for me :D I rather get contacts if I solely focus on the basket and then adjust with tiny inputs. Looking on the tanker causes me to be too far to the right or left to the basket hence not getting a contact.

This time everything went just fine. Wingman got shot down en route to WP 04 over the village and everything else set in properly. Attacking targets for some reason doesn't punish the player. For Instance in the last couple missions I just shot down everything hostile without clearance :D No penalty from mission command, flight lead or the sim itself.
-
After that I went loco and shot down both Su-27 and Mig-29 in the AO wit Magics and guns. Unfortunately I crashed when taking the SA sites under rocket fire :D I will replay and report back :)

Mission 8 gives me a Mission Failed notification for not staying on the path or altitude although I am on the requested speed, path and altitude. Still the mission goes on as Pontiac 1-2 is shot down by a MANPAD.

The Mirage's SP Campaign goes through most elements of the training missions again. They do it in a faster pace though, as there aren't any indicators that highlight switches. Therefore you should have gone through the training sessions a few times. Unless your are already seasoned in this matter for AAR training creating your own AAR training mission is a must. Otherwise you will only get 75 points in Mission 4 if you don't make contact and take fuel from the S-3 succesfully.

With constant TMS down you can ground stabilize the crosshair. This way it will be easier to move around the cursor. I recommend creating a mission in the editor with multiple targets on an airfield to practice slewing with the cursor. Apart from using TGP with Maverick seeker slaved to it the Mav seeker slew itself is an excellent tool for locking on closer targets of opportunity.

Thank you for your help guys. After a few more training sessions and campaign missions :joystick: , using the Mirage's navigation system is not bad either. It is just a bit unusual at first. Even more if you are used to the TAD and US HSI, but it feels like second nature now. So much that I rarely use the option to show waypoints on the VTB.

Yet this users are grabbing other early access titles and play them for years in an incomplete state. This gotta be the definition of double standards.

Do your engines on purpose sound like the hypnotoad? :D

Have the January bug on Mission 03 as well. But I can't change the month. It is greyed out. Any advice on how to change it nonetheless?

Parameter Input Select (Left) 4 switches that allows the left side parameter input for Target Designation. 10. Parameter Input Select (Right) 4 switches that allows the left side parameter input for Target Designation. Also laut einem Video, sollen das wohl verschiedene Radar Modi sein. DEB/FIN stellt dabei eine Intercept Guidance dar, jedoch ist sich der Sprecher nicht sicher, obs in DCS auch eine Funktion hat.

Thank you for the update Baltic Dragon  At first when I heard the explosion I thought that it will be an instant action mission. Base raid by the Russians in progress while you have to be cool and proceed with the start up as usual for a counter attack :D But after no more explosions occured I looked around with F2 only to see the crash :D Thankfully this bug doesn't stop you from completing the mission, at least for me.

Three Steps to a new Warthog HOTAS
ZeeMan90 replied to JINX_1391's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Welcome to the club:thumbup: What is your Serial No. if I may ask? :) -
Hey guys, can you please tell me how long the TrackClipPro's cable is? My rig is not on my desk so I would to know how long it is prior ordering one. Looking forward to your help. Regards

I have read the chapter about navigation, yet it is missing some fool-proof examples on how to properly utilize it, at least for me. The warthog has the TAD and fixed waypoints, no need to look constantly at the HSI. As soon as your nose points in to the right direction you see the square and you know thats the waypoint. Being accustomed to this lack of instrument flying, it takes a while to use them again more frequently, at least for a total rookie like me
