  1. So confirm you want the antenna position indicator on the Radar B-scope to indicate the position of the elevation wheel, not the actual antenna position itself? If so then that would be both unrealistic and pointless..
  2. The ALR67 won't detect an IR seeker, but if that missile has been cued by the launch aircraft radar then you will have indications you are locked, which can be a 'subtle' reminder to get your eyes outside and look for a launch
  3. TWS and LTWS are two different things. Other A/A modes in the real APG73 are VS (velocity search) and VEC. There are numerous A/G modes
  4. I can only speak for RAAF operators but they always fly with the moving map ON. However, it is dimmed down using the contrast buttons based on personal preference. This allows the text to be legible (it is also white text by default) Hopefully the AMPCD buttons are implemented soon..
  5. If anyone is interested, I’m selling my Gunfighter MkII Pro, along with the Monstertech desk mount. Both as new. As well as a set of Saitek Pro Combat Pedals...selling only because I managed to get my hand on some ex-military parts
  6. I had this exact thought after watching some Arma3 "Zeus Mode" videos. The ability to have a designated 'Mission Director' who can control/spawn units would be the ultimate dynamic mission. In fact, you could have more than one MD, eg. one controlling air, and one controlling land/sea assets from a map-like view of the AO. The land commander could then even jump into JTAC mode and give real time 9lines for example. This would allow much more immersive air-air BVR combat as well. Instead of AI formations just steaming hot until within an Rmax shot, a human MD could direct certain groups to manouver/abort/beam etc and create handoff/drop decisions for the blue air players to manage. Obviously it would require a sensible MD but with practice, this could be epic..
  7. Copied, thankyou
  8. I'm aware of that option, thanks. But even with that deselected, there is a lot of speech displayed as text on the screen, I was hoping that option would turn ALL of it off
  9. I would love to fly around with radio chatter coming through and absolutely ZERO text on the screen... In CAS, for example, I like to go full realism and actually write down a 9line as it's being read to me. Looking up and having the text visible actually kinda ruins the immersion..
  10. The Mk82 Snakeye ballistics look good for both FF and RET modes, but the aircraft impact point computation is incorrect. I.e. AUTO mode, RET selected: weapon impacts designated point AUTO mode, FF selected: weapon impact long of target CCIP mode , RET selected: weapon impacts where HUD impact cross was at pickle CCIP mode, FF selected: weapon impacts long. It can be seen on "test2.trk" using CCIP..In the dive I switch between Mk82 Snakeye in FF mode, and a slick Mk82. The CCIP solution has a drastic change, as if the computation is for the RET instead of the FF mode as selected. (the ballistics of a Mk82 slick and a Mk82 Snakeye in FF mode should be essentially identical) test.trk test2.trk
  11. Extremely rare for A/B to be required in a circuit..even a go around is generally done at mil, unless hot and/or heavy. The drag modelling of the DCS Hornet with gear+flaps down isn't accurate (i.e. too much drag) and I believe the latest update corrects this, although I am yet to test it.
  12. Good to know re. detents. I'm lucky enough to have access to a disposed throttle (and stick) so intend on supplying parts...but the budget spent so far is already a bit ridiculous so hopefully it turns out spectacular. Like I said, this unit has a lot of potential. AU
  13. Hi guys, thought I'd chime in as I have one of these units...and a a few hundred hours in the jet. Overall this product has a lot of potential, but there are numerous issues which I will list below. It seems to be more of a prototype (I hope) and Roberto has accepted my request to send it back to have the issues resolved. Considering the cost, I would expect it to be 99.9% accurate. Note I also paid extra to have the ">80% real switches" fitted; namely the TDC. So, in rough order of most annoying to least... -the TDC is not secure in its mount. The transducer can be rotated with minimal force, which obviously wreaks havoc on axis alignment -the TDC depress action only works some of the time (not at all currently)...possibly has something to do with the above comment -pots are used for the throttle axis, which I wouldn't normally care about, but they are not symmetrical, so split throttles are required for the same output (I've tried to calibrate but the issue still stands) - the wiring from the throttles through the unit is not secure or clear of moving parts. This has the effect of random signal spasms, and consequent throttle bashing from idle-max etc at a rapid pace. Unpredictable, and when I fly the Spit (left for RPM, right for throttle) it is essentially unflyable - the finger lifts are required to be pulled up to push into afterburner. This is inaccurate and annoying...the real aircraft requires a push through a minor detent..the ONLY time the finger lifts are touched are for engine shutdown. This is obviously a design flaw more than build quality, but must be rectified. - Comm switch and radar elevation wheel are not spring loaded to center like they should be - Comm switch is only 3 way (Comm1, OFF, Comm2) and it should be 5way as previously mentioned (Comm1, MidsA, MidsB, Comm2, Off) - Speedbrake switch is only 2 way, it needs to be 3 way (extend, off, retract) - Cage/uncage switch should be the same switch as the ATC and RAID/FLIR buttons (it is some random cheap button atm) Like I said, I believe this I have more of a prototype, and Roberto has accepted to help fix the issues, so don't pass too much judgement. I actually think it is a beautiful product, just needs to be tweaked. I am also sourcing some genuine switches and hopefully Throttletek agree to modify my unit to make it more accurate. Will keep y'all updated.
  14. As I don't have the update yet, can someone verify what is displayed when armed with an A-A weapon and the locked target gets within range? Specifically, if it is a hostile, "SHOOT" should be displayed above the diamond, and for a friendly/unknown, "IN LAR" above the TD square. (acknowledge it is still wip)
  15. I'm shocked no one has mentioned Slaw RX pedals. They are a masterpiece! And the customer service is second to none.
  16. If only the time was briefed in UTC..aka the only time an aviator is concerned with..numerous posts and confusion could be avoided
  17. The Hornet has both options (waypoints and sequences programmed in mission planning, and/or edit waypoints/sequences/TOTs airborne) There is also the CAS page if one is inclined to use it. Ps the open source flight manual explains these
  18. It is possible. But if you can program that data in mission planning it saves a lot of button pushing (same as A10C)
  19. The hardware is an old Hornet training aid (I was quite lucky to score it). It was used by avionics personnel before being disposed of. This also means I don't use Target software, at the moment Im using Joy2Key but its very basic. Tried to use Joystick Gremlin but couldn't figure it out. Where could I program a 'relative axis?' Thanks for the help btw
  20. The renaissance thread! After 3 years out of the Hog I've recently decided to learn the cold start and full SOP's, must br getting impatient
  21. Thanks mate, awesome work. The old girl needs some love
  22. I fly the F15 and A10 using the KG12 stick at the moment, it's definitely doable but slightly limited, and joystick mapping software is a must. The MCG provides heaps of options, but seeing as you have to wait and are keen on the Hornet there are two options inbound, the Thrustmaster F/A18 grip, or the RealSimulator F/A18 grip (which has been announced as both left and right handed versions: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=203226) No timeline has been provided for either so who knows when they'll be ready...
  23. A piece of combat footage tells a thousand words! First gun run shows the occlusion nicely Bonus points for who can explain why the sight goes "CCIP invalid" on Hog1's second pass! (target elevation is obviously still below aircraft)
