  1. The real jet allows you to select AA/AG/NAV master modes, as well as program the CMDS with weight on wheels.
  2. Hopefully the "Align" function on the HMD page will be implemented soon
  3. Hold the up or down arrow (PB12 or 13) for about a second, two options will appear in the UFC, "WYPT" and "MRKP". Colonise one of those, enter required waypoint/markpoint number, press enter. Def helps when all 59 waypoints are used. (nb. not implemented yet)
  4. For white text, edit the following: x:\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\FA-18C\Cockpit\Scripts\materials.lua Line 29 to: MDG_materials[MDG_SELF_IDS.HI] = {255, 255, 255, 255} Note: The first mod I described leaves the lettering too bright at night, as although the code for the MFD SYMBOL/CONTRAST/GAIN pushbuttons exists, they don't seem to have any effect (release version)
  5. How to fix it... RL pilots just dim it so it's there in the background but the lettering is still visible. To achieve this, edit the following file: x:\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\FA-18C\Cockpit\Scripts\Multipurpose_Display_Group\AMPCD\indicator\AMPCD_init and delete the first few lines of code so that it only displays the following: opacity_sensitive_materials = { "MPD_DMC_OUTLINE", } -- Parameters handling functions THEN when you boot up the jet, the AMPCD brightness knob only needs to be turned to about 9o'clock (just above completely dim). Check out my screenshots:)
  6. Anyone willing to part with their TM Cougar TQS? I actually only need the grip (going to wire into my own throttle quadrant)
  7. If you can get the brake lever as an axes output (vice momentary switch) I'll be very keen.
  8. Has this been sold?
  9. The waypoint you set as bullseye doesn’t have to be in a sequence. Although currently all waypoints created in the ME are assigned to a sequence in the DCS Hornet. Hopefully one day in the ME/Combatflite we can assign the 59waypoints and 9markpoints to individual locations without being part of a sequence (more like the real life data cartridge)
  10. Funnily enough, when the SA page is implemented, your SA will increase.. Hopefully it’s not too far off.
  11. Purchased, super excited to get home and get amongst it! In the meantime I went and found an old copy of the book to read beforehand. Many thanks Reflected, I’ve been waiting for a campaign such as this.
  12. Logic, or you can take my word for it, which is based off 500+ hours in the F/A-18 (not simulated) Dispenser switch ON (not BYPASS), weight on wheels: should be able to box PB8 ‘ALE47’ on the EW page, setup the programs etc. Nil expendables will be dispensed. Dispenser switch ON, weight off wheels: box ALE47, with PB19 ‘MODE’ in STBY (displayed under PB8 ), nil expendables will be dispensed with HOTAS/Sill switch actuation. Dispenser switch ON, weight off wheels, cycle PB19 until ‘MAN1’ displayed under PB19: flares and/or chaff dispensed IAW the program setup and HOTAS/Sill switch selection, regardless of master arm position. The above is accurate for the real jet. I’m away and unable to check the DCS jet atm, but I wouldn’t bother contacting Boeing.
  13. On the ALE47 submenu of the EW page, there is the ability to safe the system so that expendables are not released by accidental actuation of HOTAS. This is the normal way of arming/safing the ALE47 (not sure if thats implemented in DCS).. And yes, WoW also inhibits flare/chaff dispense
  14. MA does not need to be armed for the ALE47 to dispense IRL.
  15. Yet to be implemented is an STT contact’s heading on the top left of the B-scope, but if you can get a hostile’s heading, you can make the “bearing sandwhich”: - take the difference between the reciprocal of a bandits heading, and add/subtract that to his current bearing to you. This is to heading to fly for intercept. Eg: Bandit bearing 330, bandit heading 180: reciprocal is 360. Difference 30 segrees, so fly heading (330-30)= 300deg. Caveat: this is assuming bandit is flying same speed as you. If a hostile was racing to takedown a tanker/awacs, you would just make the intercept as ‘hot’ as possible and buster/gate to save the day
  16. Alternatively you could request a ground lase from a JTAC. As long as the cloud base isn’t too low, the seeker will detect a laser spot on the ground with enough time to guide onto it.
  17. JHMCS would be a game-changer. Even if it may be from a later suite (just guessing)
  18. Just personally, what I would love more than TWS (as I assume it would be easier/ quicker to implement) is a goddamn TDC bullseye and BRA readout on the b-scope. It actually makes a huge difference in A/A engagements!
  19. Dude thats awesome. Thankyou.
  20. FA18 is a FBW jet so force feedback isn't required. For WW2 or any non-FBW aircraft though, it would be epic. I hope the Brunner can get implemented into DCS, I'm frothing at the thought of flying the Spit with a FFB stick combined with Simshaker
  21. I had this same suggestion some time ago..the Zeus acts as a "Mission Director" and could: - drive OPFOR air assets for DCA/OCA missions, with the option to act as C2 as well. - spawn ground units as well as acting as a realistic JTAC etc. The possibilities are endless really!
  22. Nailed it Alien. Your mod allows us to fly with the moving map (TAMMAC) dimmed but not off...which is how it’s flown IRL these days. BZ!
  23. Good pickup! Although there’s no reason you’d need to switch to True heading
