First fighter to be added to DCS: Black Shark?
Teapot replied to Alexrey's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Man, I'm so relieved to hear that! Tornado baby you're still hanging in there! Your sugar daddy's going to fly you one of these days, oh the joy of it all ... the exultation, the subliminal excitation even ... :joystick: Cheers! -
... your most recent rep to me. Hitman, I was attempting a reconciliatory gesture through humour. Note that the original thread that resulted in our initial exchange has been removed, and rightfully so ... those issues do not belong in these forums, we cannot expect our own cherished alliegances to be shared by all and sundry. Now I'd like to move on, realising that your view of what is right and mine won't necessarily coincide ... however that should not preclude us from having civil conversation about something we DO share, namely the love of combat flight simulation ... Feel the love matey ;) Cheers for you and a good rep from me ... meant sincerely ... if I was face to face with you now I would offer you a hand-shake and a beer. Let bygones be bygones.

Flying around in a over-powered sail-plane sitting in a bath-tub for a cockpit? Nothing's going to make that seem glamorous . NOE, skimming over the contour's, deep penetration is what it's all about, and Tornado sim pilots don't have to talk about it (much) because they can DO it! Cas (ual) A-10 sim-pilots though, have a tendency to brag about how big their virtual gun is ... is this a compensationary thing maybe? :D Cheers! -
Would anyone be interested in these tooltips?
Teapot replied to miguez's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
You forgot .Del Numb-pad ... how could you forget .Del Numb-pad?? Sheeesh! Fancy forgetting .Del Numb-pad ... what a ning-nong ... obviously not hardcore .. forgetting .Del Numb-pad (shakes head in disbelief) ... makes me feel all numb inside :D. Cheers -
Yes ... I noticed this too! I got a few bad reps once ... and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that there was nothing but PURE LOVE in them thar hearts :D. Cheers!

What's the online flying like? Because with the right procedural environment created by player or group, it could work very well as a combat flight simulation training tool ... before mixing it up in the *real* virtualised war on some other sim. At a snap it might be able to be used for, team vs team, co-op, top-gun type of scenario's. Should the software be lacking in terms of these sortie creating tools in-sim, there'd be nothing stopping people from doing it the good old way with pencils, maps & protractors. From my perspective, I treat *all* my simulation flying as training sorties; half the fun is in analysing how to refine and improve. My 2 cents, Cheers!

Come on! You don't really mean that ... guys, how are we ever going to get the jet we all REALLY REALLY need if you all keep dicking around confusing the poor chappies @ ED with these other wishy-washy suggestions? We all know what SHOULD come next ... -

No it isn't! It's the winged apostate jet-pretender turbo-fanned abomination ... a flying garbage scow; I'd rather pick crusty dags from the crack of a tick infested Malley bull than 'fly' that flappy pig. :P Deep deep down, I know you all want to agree :D Cheers! -

Don't you mean NEIGH? :D I'm might be a commie bastard too, but nay .. maybe deep down I'm King Arthur? The peasants are revolting this fine day, out of my way serf ... by royal decree WE will only settle for a Tornado, nothing else will suffice I say! ... but I s'pose we'll make a few royal exceptions ... -
Aiyaya! We all live and learn, because we all make mistakes. At least, the mistakes we make here are in the realm of playing. Hopefully we can all get into the sandbox and start playing again! :D Cheers!

Any plans for a patch 1.13 or 1.2?
Teapot replied to RedTiger's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
If I had a choice of getting an improvement in LCFC or all resources being put into introducing the LCFC aircraft set into DCS with it's advanced simulation environment ... I would be wishing for latter. Lock On is great. But a DCS treatment of Lock On will be far greater. So here's my message to ED ... ho p to it guys on the DCS Lock On module ... make it snappy now :D Cheers! -
You can land on roads in Lock On. Same as F2. Sorry about crappy picture quality!

If you want to get Lock On & Flaming Cliffs go to : http://lockon.co.uk/index.php?lang=en If you would also like to get info on how to get Open Falcon go to : http://www.f4forums.com/forums/ ............ As far as comparisons go ... it's all opinion, and everyone has one ;). Personally both sims fulfill disparate needs that I have with Combat Flight Simulation; meaning that my ideal sim would give me the weapons systems/avionics fidelity & complexity of Open Falcon with Lock On's streaming eyeballs hair on fire thundering through the canyons, chewing on the tail of an F-15 with the smell of hydraulics fluid mixed with avgas and singed titanium visceral pantheon of the gods flying experience. BS sounds like it's approaching that ideal ... except that it's an ollie-cotter. Hopefully within the next few years (*sigh*) they/DCS might get a fast jet out, but despite the best laid plans of mice and men, simulation manufacturing can still run a-foul of the ravages of any run of the mill global economic environment ... As always, cheers! Teapot

... and I'm a sado-masochist ... probably leaning to being more of a masochist :D Cheers! Teapot -
I really like the idea. I foresee some GREAT scenarios happening in 2 - 5 years time; assuming DCS continues from strength to strength. :D Good stuff!

Looks fabulous! It's very cool banana's! Cheers,

I'm @ work at the moment, but regarding your js & throtle etc - they are in the advanced settings for Controllers where you can set individual axis and sliders. Sorry can't be more specific!

I'm not really qualified to talk in depth about a comparison of the avionics fidelity between the respective Falcons, for two reasons. a/. I've mostly flown OF 4.5 (and now 4.7) as my Falcon of choice - I tried AF and RV but with the former I (like Red Tiger) hated having to switch between 2D & 3 D to 'do' things ... and the 3D pit in AF is down-right BHUGGLY ... hasn't changed from the original AFAIK. In Open Falcon I can do most of it in the 3D cockpit; maybe even all of it :book:. With the latter, I could never get RV working to my satisfaction. b/. I'm still a noob when it comes to expertise with the OF avionics suite - (but I love it!) Knowing these limitations are mine, I feel free to say that my Open Falcon experience was in the order of a flight-sim epiphany! :D I am particularly impressed with the level of detail in the avionics suite; the research involved to do things 'by the book' has me researching far beyond the impressively complete sim-ware documentation, into how the Viper pilot thinks in terms of procedure to ensure that he is in the right parameter bracket at the required time ... pre-flight, ramp-start, weapons prep, taxi, take-off ... but even before that we are able to prep and individualise our mission beyond my other sim experience. In Open Falcon there is modeled in flight dynamic setting of waypoint of interest and I can do things with data-link (see b/.), with my flight that is not modeled in any other sim AFAIK ... maybe BS approaches that ... I don't know yet. I am in agreement with Red Tiger, in that the 'feel' of flight (however it is achieved), is a vital element in the flight sim experience. It is 'vital' in producing the suspension of disbelief; producing a higher quality experience of immersion. Personally, I dislike flying other jets in a sim that set out design the F16 flight experience; call me old fashioned :noexpression:; even so I would like to express my un-qualified admiration to those who find ways to extend the experience in this area! Happy New Year everyone! Cheers! P.S. For those who would feed their curiosity, may I suggest that the people of the 338th (who I think run the Open Falcon site) are extremely helpful when it comes to the intricacies of Open Falcon and the F16. It has been my experience thus far (I'm twopots on the OF site ... unfortunately; and to my disbelief Teapot was already taken!).

Teapot replied to RedTiger's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Right-e-oh people, you heard it here first! Straight from the horses mouth; we're being promised a flyable Tornado module in 3 - 4 weeks! :joystick: :D Cool banana's! Cheers! -

Copy EB; I understand that you guys have to make business decisions ... BTW, you wouldn't have heard any persistent rumours about the creation of a Tornado module in DCS in the near future? I hear whispers from the 'other side of the veil' that indicate it will be ED's triumph, its pièce de résistance! Any truth to that rumour? :music_whistling: Cheers! -

Really!? As in the assumption that there will be no more patches for Lock On FC is false? There is a GOD! :pilotfly: Cheers! -
My thoughts exactly :) ! Cheers!
