  1. If they do, they'll have quite a standard to measure up to; set by Open Falcon 4.x (IMO), as far as avionics detail is concerned.
  2. Ni hau Rick! Thanx for the cockpits, very nice work ...
  3. EVO works for me ... maybe these might throw some light? G'day mate, these are my js settings for the EVO. Seems to work for me; fwiw, I hope it might be helpful for you ... My gain settings ... and the LOMAC in game settings ... Cheers and g'luck Teapot
  4. I purchased Falcon 4.0 when it first came out; but @ the time couldn't play the sim with any decent frame rates. Same too with Flanker 2. So my F4 and my F2 have been sitting in packing for the best part of a decade. Recently I upgraded LOMAC FC and have quite enjoyed the immersion, however after seeing persistent accolades of Open Falcon, I downloaded 4.5 and installed it. I can unequivocally state that I'm now (again) experiencing the immersion I haven't felt since flying D.I.'s Tornado and ED's Flanker 1.5.; and I thought I was over American planes :music_whistling:! IMO Falcon 4 with it's ascendancy to Open Falcon is THE masterpiece of flight simulation, that turns out to be the greatest there ever was ... I sincerely hope the DCS experience will continue along that vein. Cheers.
  5. You're hi-jacking the thread ... poo 2 you, anyway what sort of comment is that? Back on thread, this is good information about the card. Has definitely piqued my interest.
  6. "Promise" is such a loaded word ... AFAIK there's no "promise" as such. I believe it's a tentative forecast ... of a time-line they'd like to stay close to if they can. If we start to think in terms of promises and such it can potentially lead to all sorts of self induced pain  Cheers!
  7. ... and without Flanker 2 there would have been no Lockon ... I'm in complete agreement. I think Alex did the math well (thanks Alex :D), it will probably be another 27 months before the first fast jet arrives on the scene. So Lockon won't be going on life support just yet . Cheers, Teapot
  8. I was ruminating my dear Sobek (while I wait for my own sweet copy or two or three of BS) ... upon statements in the Q&A section made by the BS team ... the point being that despite what is said officialy vis-a-vis the longevity of Lomac ... nothing really has been said because said longevity relies on continued support from the community. My guess is that the 'community'will migrate en-masse to BS as soon as the fast jets become available ... at that point Lomac will be as good as dead ... P.S. Btw .. what's the picture in your avatar ... I've been trying to work it out! :)
  9. ... and of course, that might quite possibly mean that DCS will have to model aircraft from the cold war era ... what an orgasmatronic supposition that would be :music_whistling:.
  10. Considering the answer to the 2nd question following the 1st (above) ... I'm tentatively curious if the other aircraft (including the fast movers) will have the same degree of fidelity in avionics/systems as the KA-50 in BS apparently has. If they do (and I think they've said that the other aircraftf will have to be up to the same standard) ... it will ipso-facto result in the demise of Lomac ... at least as a cfs that is considered in its day to have that level of 'hyper' reality. I think the precedent was set when Lomac:FC succeeded Flanker 2 ... the same will happen to Lomac. But!! Das ist gut! Это хорошая! (courtesy of http://www.howtosayin.com/) Over the years I've divested myself of bucket-loads of drool day-dreaming about a sim like BS with the jets ... I think that the wait is nearly over, I think I see Wags & the ED team shining a torch from the end of a tunnell ... hang on fella's I'm coming!! :joystick::D Cheers, Teapot
  11. Well at least I should have a decent 'puter by the time we get the western version of BS. I have to say that the screen shots and the goss on BS indicates a phenomenal sim ... it might just be enough to turn me into a dedicated chopper pilot :D ... in the mean-time I've got some catching up to do with LOMAC FC ... kinda like preparations for the arrival of the Messiah (BS of course). Cheers!
  12. Not sure if I'm "the" Teapot ... but I'm the only Teapot I've seen flying around the virtual skies circa Wardbirds, Aces High days as well as being a denizen of the Flanker 2/Falcon 4 & IL2 forums on SimHQ :P... which is where incidentally I had a mate call-sign Leafer alongside Jekyll, Peril and a few others ... Yes, it's been a while ... around about 6 years I guess ... dusting off the F22 hotas only to find that everything's USB these days ... and worse, I've got to borrow my wife's computer ... but spec-ing out a new super duper flying rig ... Lomac's been ordered etc ... just takes time (and money) that's all :pilotfly: Cheers mate! Teapot
  13. Dang it Kuky, every time I see a post by you I hit my screen cause I try to squash that damn bug in you sig! And then I realise it's just a bug in a sig ... Cheers, Teapot
  14. Err Leafer old pal ... don't you mean "squire" ... unless of course EvilBivol really is your daddy! Cheers, Teapot
  15. October 2008 ... there was a noticable increase in people with vacant visage, speaking what sounded like bad Russian while drooling ... was this a hitherto un-discovered sub-type of Tourette Syndrome? :megalol:
  16. Thanks a bunch Matt! I'll be using those for sure! Cheers, Teapot
  17. Oh so it's sim history now is it? OK ... First 'sim' I flew was Sub Logic(?) early precursor of MS Flight sim for the Commodore 64, followed by a very early Falcon (I had a Hercules graphics card on an 8088), which I thought was really great. Chuck Yeager, F117, Falcon 3, Microprose F14, Tornado + addons, Flanker 1,1.5, F4, EECH, Flanker2, Janes F15 & 18, Fly, Flightgear, MS flightsim series, X-Plane ... they're the ones can I remember. Before that I vaguely remember one in the dark dim past (Something with Eagles in the name) that had a bunch of planes and allowed you to start in the hangar ... which was really cool hehe.
  18. I take it that we're all buying BS then? Hehe .. unfortunate acronym. Reminds me of the Honda RS, which over here is an acronym for Rat Poo .... just as BS is an acronym for male bovine fecal matter. Interesting coincidence.
  19. Jim Mackanochie?!! ... yes, Flanker 1 was the first sim that truly fueled my combat flight simming addiction :). Hanging out on MRC, in awe of the top 10 on the original Flanker Ladder, Shepski, Papadoc et al ... it makes me feel old. Cheers, Teapot
  20. ROFLOL! Hiya there Leafer, I knew a Leafer once in AH (I think it was Aces) ... Anyhoot, thnx for the laugh. Cheers, Teapot aka Rip Van Winkle, because I 'slept' through the entire LoMAc +FC + IL2 series and am only now beginnning to catch up again ... :joystick: Doh ... nearly forgot, of course I'll buy! Who wouldn't?
  21. Tornado + Harrier GR-X variety
