  1. Right. You've cleared that up for me in your first 2 sentences (ta for that!). Well in that case ... bring on the Dynamic Campaign addon, as long as it's a good-un. :)
  2. There is a certain jenesequa about knowing that there's very little AI involved on the 'other' side (pardon the French heheh). I know exactly where Leafer is coming from! Conceded that I think that a DC done well could be a valuable asset, although the feeling of *real* is qualitatively more intense on a MMOCFS than when flying with a LAN squad in my experience (mind you LAN squad can get pretty intense as well). The jury's out again on that one from my perspective (only) because I hated the experience in the early versions of Falcon 4. I'll do as Subs has suggested and give the DC a weeks jaunt in BMS 4.32. :o). Of course that means I'll have to go through some of *tanit's* BMS tutorials and that in itself will probably take me about a week (wife, family, job etc). However, always nice to have a mission to accomplish :D!
  3. Just remember FSX does not equal DCS. The way I see it is thusly ... FSX and DCS are the raw canvas upon which addon developers can work their particular forms of artistry. The better the quality of the canvas, the better the quality of the overall art (aircraft and other things/objects). So ... your experience with Razbam products in FSX will not necessarily hold true or relate to Razbam in DCS:World :).
  4. What are you saying yes to? The Thunderchief or the Viggen? :D Air Land Sea doctrine here we come! Woohoo!
  5. I'm actually hoping for a persistent server like Aces High (or Warbirds Online or even WWiiOnline). I flew for a while in Aces High and loved the dynamic nature of battle there (particularly the air battle), however what soured it for me in the end was the lack of engine management. Now, if only we can get a persistent server environment for DCS:World:Combined Arms, we can have persistent campaigns sorted by era or by conflict for example ... imagine the possibilities! IMO, if you provide the conditions whereby a plausible (and fun) scenario may develop you will end up with an exciting experience, especially with DCS level of real world fidelity. I think Aces High is evidence of this (though it doesn't quite have the same degree of fidelity). It also tends to be self policing, in that idiots get a rep for being idiots and either learn to adapt their game personalities, or find their continued existence in the game becomes untenable ...
  6. I like your style :D
  7. Thanks for the good advice Subs. Will make every effort not to let it get under my skin lol. I entirely agree that BMS are well placed to make a killer F16 for DCS.
  8. I didn't like the IL2 F4U (actually all the planes had crappy FM's ... *in my opinion*), it was way too tame. I guess I'm more of a study sim kinda guy. While IL2 excelled in atmosphere, I never felt that far removed from *arcade* whilst playing it. I believe that the world is ready for (fanfare and cymbals) DCS: WWII ... (no I'm not talking about the wii :D) Can you hear the whisper from the corn fields? "BUILD IT AND THEY WILL COME" ...
  9. That's a lucky find! I hope that you guys do release this one. Can't have enough jet trainers y'know
  10. Subs, blow the image up (double click on it) and you'll see that it's a low-light shot (night-time) and the detail is in the cockpit ambient lighting ... it's flawless IMO.
  11. Without a shadow of a doubt! These are awesome screenshots.:D
  12. Me too. I'd much rather put my money into something that's still being actively developed and continuously improved ... aka DCS: World. I'm sure the VRS addon is still *alive* but it relies on FSX, which is no longer developed AFAIK.
  13. Me too ... I've flown the model in Flightgear. Would love to get my mitts on it in DCS.
  14. Yes I got that impression as well . I think it was my initial post on the BMS forums that drew a lot of ire. A subsequent thread started by SUBS17 is having a much more receptive audience and generating some useful discussion. It's a real pity from my opinion that the "DC" of Falcon becomes the lynchpin for continuing development in the BMS environment because I rarely use it, much prefering individually crafted T.E.s. It's just my opinion, so don't waste you breath flaming me! Look, IMO the BMS devs have done (and are still producing) stellar work w.r.t. avionics, systems and flight modelling. I'm no mathematician or aeronautics expert, but I *feel* that their advanced flight model for the F16 is still not as fluid as the *simple* flight modelling for FC2 and certainly can't hold a candle to the feel of flight in the dedicated DCS series. But then there's nothing factual in my opinion there, it's just the consequence of a gut extrapolation of my own flying experience as a grunt; read *baggage* in Hueys, Kiowa's, Nomad's and Pilatus Porter's (waves on the miniscule chance that there's ppl from 8/9 Bn Royal Australian Regiment circa 1980's here - I was Pyro from Recon Pl, Spt Coy btw). But Falcon 4 still feels dated, although the Dynamic Campaign is much better than it's previous incarnations, I feel that the efforts would be better applied to DCS: World than to reviving a tired old war-horse. F4 was great until relatively recently, but it's now time to let it rest in peace .... *in my opinion*.
  15. :chair: Hey leafer old m8 ... you alright? You passed out for a momnt there
  16. Now, now leafer lad. Don't you know that some of us have man-boobs? :megalol: Nevertheless, I think the models are amazing. Kudos to the fine cratfsmen who made them, because they're all works of art! Now that's unfair! Glowing Amraam makes awesome videos. However, I too would like to see a well developed PR showing for the Props in DCS:World ...
  17. You all know he speaks the truth! It should be flying in a digital combat simulation world no less :music_whistling:.
  18. Wo! It's a fantastic development. I hope it doesn't take too long.
  19. This influx of good news is giving me the vapours! :D ... and did I just read Scooters!? You can't see it but right now am doing a jig. When words fail me .... Oh, and WELCOME ABOARD!!
  20. Ah yes, with regard to forums in general I tend to agree. However I still think it's the best thing we have to accomodate our collective clamouring for more info. I think this forum is particularly well structured and very good at presenting information. I don't know what the weather is like where you are, but it's 6 degrees C here today and I'm still adapting to the cooler weather. Also the missus thinks I'm just weird that I get ney-kid every time I read this sentence on the forum! Sorry, couldn't resist! But we do hear from Wags, JimMack and the forum moderators/ED Testers; all the time! Almost information over-load IYAM. We should be happy campers.
  21. I think someone famous once quipped something to the effect that if you get heaps and heaps of engineers playing with Borland C++ (on a PC) you'll eventually get a flight simulator ... I think it was Shakespeare ... or was it Einstein  ... Specifically though, I agree with everything you've said.
  22. The SAAB Viggen. I would love to have a Viggen. There's a bunch of Euro guys who model a Viggen (among other Euro jets) for X-Plane. And *just in case* ED/DCS dev people might think these ppl are worth contacting; these are the guys who make the X-Plane Viggen. :) http://gsainz.free.fr/pages/contactpag.html (Viggen X-Files) From their Contact page: ******************************************* You can contact us by mail at contact-viggen-xfiles@1s.fr Send your e-mail in international English.Be advised that we do also speak Swedish and French. (Si vous ne parlez pas Anglais il est toujours possible de nous envoyer un message en Francais ou en Suedois :)))) You can expect a short (and miraculous) answer if you speak German or Spanish onlly. Not a chance of reply if you speak any other language....sorry. You can also post a message at Viggen-x-files forum (click on the banner). ******************************************************************************
  23. + 1. We're still facing the possible conundrum of the 2 pit dilemma ... situation ... thingy :D. I have fond memories od IDS's Panavia Tornado. It had the best mission editor of its time (stilll holds up to the standards of today IMO). The Tornado GR x is definitely one of the all time classic jets of historical significance, and it's just too cool for words.
  24. Thanks mate. I'll check out Dan Murphy's .. otherwise I notice they sell via the Net. Freight Free for a doz. bottles or more :D. I'll get some to celebrate when DCS announces the next DCS fast jet module (not including FC3). Can't really reciprocate in kind. Only have dung beetles and Coal Seam Gas in this vicinity lol!
  25. :thumbup:Same here mate, same here ... sans Steam these days. Hmmm .. SA. Home of the finest Reds on the planet. Old Horace Rumpole didn't know what he was missing advocating Pomeroy's (except he probably did).
