  1. Nate, Thanks for the reply. I do understand that everything is subject to change - just would have hoped for someone to actually say if the ATC improvements had slipped as a priority. Whats the point of weekly updates if news some want never gets mentioned again after being announced? Not a moan really - just everyone has different parts of the sim the want updated be that more modules - graphic engines or whatever and expecting to be kept updated with announced improvements that get pulled seems reasonable me. Kind regards, Gary
  2. Open Beta?? So the open beta is available on steam but not anywhere else??? Can anyone who has it comment on the proposed ATC improvements? Are they included? Confussed.com.... Kind regards, Gary
  3. Well either that or spend some time improving it????
  4. Joey, Tend to agree....Such a shame really. I can't think of any other part of the simulation that hasn't been improved since release and yet everyone says its a weak area of the software. Might not be much of an issue for some - but things like new weapon models are of no great interest to me...
  5. No mention of the pulled ATC improvements! Please don't tell me we have to wait for 1.2.6 for it??
  6. Just had a quick browse and didnt notice the already announced ATC improvements? Must be in progress as was originally planned for 1.2.5 release... Great list and thanks for keeping it updated... Kind Regards, Gary
  7. KaspeR32, Thank you. Now you have posted I realise I had read that before! Thanks again for going to the trouble... Kind Regards, Gary
  8. The several improvement listed for ATC Sorry - I missed any list of improvements. Can you direct me please? Kind Regards, Gary
  9. Ok...so the ATC improvements didn't make it. Shame but if it wasn't ready it wasn't ready. 2 quick questions. Will the ATC have to wait until 1.2.6 or is it close enough to being good that we MIGHT get it in an interim update? Can you give us some idea of what the improvements consist of? I'm really looking forward to this and it occurs to me that if its just improvements to the current system I could be sorely dissapointed when it does come out. Alternatively if it includes fixes and new features then i can stay excited... Kind Regards, Gary
  10. P*funk, Obviously an intelligent guy. And yes I do understand. My only observation is that ATC improvements have previously been stated and then in the latest update seem to vanish. I'd much rather someone of some authority came online and simply said - we dont know if it will make next update - then that would be fine. ~~at least we all know its at risk or not. All i asked is for some more information..not for someone to say its all subject to change or just tell him its out with a silly smiley face... If its in then great. If its out then great - cause it obviously needs more work and if its not been decided - then great. just dont like being told something is coming - then omitted from the update and nothing but smart arsed answers... seems pretty reasonable to me!
  11. P*Funk, I really really do appreciate what you are saying. And i do understand that for exactly the reasons you state "everything is subject to change" is often quoted. i have no issue with what is or is not included in 1.2.5 (well i obviously do want the ATC stuff but if it aint ready it aint ready) All I wanted was some idea if it is or is not likely to be included. Apart from a couple of informative replies (about testing process etc) all i really got was two smart arsed answers from those who should know better and a whole bunch of when its ready crap. Think I tried to come across as someone who understood the complexities and that things change. Jaded perhaps??? Kind regards, Gary
  12. Viper, Nate, Again thank you for the explaination. I do appreciate that you only have licence to answer some questions and not to divulge details. My question originally was exactly the same as last time news of 1.2.5 omitted any mention of ATC improvements and as a result of the question of it being not mentioned Wags came onto the forum to say yes it is still included. Same question seeking clarification seemed reasonable in those circumstances. Thank you for the explaination of the release testing process - thinking about it i suppose having various candidates is obvious. To be totally honest I'm not particulary convinced of the answers i have been given so far (but do understand why) Given the logic of the answers so far seems to me a change log would never be published ahead of release - just in case something mentioned within it was broken in the final release candidate. Its obviously not just the ATc feature that could be a problem? (unless of course you already know it is) Not a flame guys i promise. You probably know i have been here a long time. Just a little frustrated as this feature is THE one that i have a personal wish for. (so fingers crossed it does make it) Thanks for all your time. Kind regards, Gary
  13. Viper, Thanks for the reply - It is appreciated. With the utmost respect I find your answer very hard to understand. 1.2.5 is either in release testing with or without the ATC improvements? Of course I understand the complex nature of what you are doing and yes, everything is subject to change. However, the release candidate either still includes it or not surely? Regards, Gary
  14. ATC in or out? Firstly thanks for the heads up with comments like "its ready when its ready" and "everything is subject to change" etc etc etc. Most enlightening. (I have actually been on here a very long time but thanks) Let me be a little clearer with my question. I simply want to know if the ATC improvements are still in or now out of 1.2.5 (I would love more info on what the improvements are of course but hey one thing at a time) I'm NOT bitching about it being dropped. (we don't know if it actually has been yet) A very simple yes or no from someone who knows would be great. Kind Regards, Gary
  15. Sorry to say - but yes you are wrong... Not posted the whole message but this is Wags update at the end of june. Next Stop... DCS Version 1.2.5 After the release of DCS version 1.2.4, we released multiple updates using our automatic updater. We are now moving towards the next major update, version 1.2.5. Our primary focus will be on improving game performance, addressing game play issues, and setting the stage for further modules. Key features planned for version 1.2.5 include: DCS World Improvements to the ATC system. New Tu-22M3 model. Images attached. Further improvements to game stability. Correcting module installation issues. Resource manager: Corrected logistic links. Resource manager: The value, speed and periodicity have been adjusted. Default supply speed is now 60 km/h. Anti-radiation missiles: Added proximity fuses and adjusted accuracy. Visual detection of a target for AI units will now also be a function of time. The time of detection depends on target distance, aspect angle, and the presence of already detected targets nearby. When a target is no longer visible, the AI aircraft will use the target’s last known position and velocity to search for it. Added "STOP TRANSMISSION" trigger action. AI behavior option "DISPERCE UNDER FIRE" now has new parameter - dispersion delay. Added new AI behavior option - "RTB ON OUT OF AMMO". Added more tooltips to the Mission Editor. Message filter for Lock On aircraft: RShift+\. Added several new constants (AI) and functions (trigger, Controller) in the Simulator Scripting Engine (SSE). Detection of radars by RWR has been reworked to make player and AI systems equal. The parking spaces for Anapa and Krymsk airbases have been corrected. Su-25T: The gun funnel has been adjusted. Added new Su-27 skins. Several factors governing air to air missiles have been adjusted. Updated airbase charts from www.10thGunfighters.de and www.ariescon.com Fixed input deadlock. M256 HEAT ballistics corrected. Improved fire and smoke of aircraft fragments. Improved material of flares. Adjusted logbook data accounting. Especially in complex cases with multiple changes of aircrafts in one sortie. Mission Editor: Added briefing picture dialog. If file contain inappropriate symbols in the name, GUI Error appears. The broken input after exporting to HTML is fixed. If you search the forum (better than I can) you will find a later update that didnt mention the ATC improvements. After questions were asked Wags came online to confirm they were still in 1.2.5 just asking the same question now as it does not appear in the change log posted... Kind regards, Gary
  16. Not sure if that is some smart arsed reply to imply if its not in the change log then it wont be in 1.2.5 (would have preferred you just to say not included anymore) If it is perhaps you might want to consider that it wasnt mentioned in a previous update but Wags came onto the forum to confirm it would be included. A straightforward yes or no would be great thanks. If it wasnt an attempt to look clever - I sincerely apologise Kind regards, Gary
  17. Could we have some offical news on the ATC update please? Confirmation its in or out of 1.2.5? At the risk of being greedy a little detail if it is in?
  18. By far and away the most important and needed update in my view...
  19. What happened to the ATC update????????? Regards, Gary
  20. Matt, Many thanks for taking the time to clarify. Regards, Gary
  21. Hopefully the ATC improvements will come in tomorrows update? Regards, Gary
  22. "What happened to the ATC improvements?" I would like to know too please. This is the one big improvement I wanted to see in 1.2.5
  23. Not trying to be deliberately unhelpfull but have you tried the search function? Not sure they will all be in the same place but I am sure you could find some of what you need at least.
  24. Not too sure how much information we can expect on a weekly basis. If you was to compile the last 4 weeks into one monthly update it would seem more has been done. That said, ED do have a rather nice habit of suprising us at times with unexpected additional update content - and long so it continue! Kind regards, Gary
  25. Agreed. Info on its development always welcome via the regular updates of course. Kind regards, Gary
