Heatblur already stated multiple times, that they want to do the F-14D or a F-14B (U) if and when they can obtain the neccessary documentation. So we can just sit back, relax, fly the A and B model and wait till it finally happens. E.g.:

Feedback Thread - F-14 Tomcat patch 28th Oct 2022
Pasquale1986 replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
@IronMike you may want to look at the VR performance thread regarding the FPS loss in 2.8 we see some significant changes in ressource usage with the update that also affects RAM usage. Maybe a cause for crashes and freezes -
There is defentily some change in Vram and ram usage. The new weather system is affecting this heavily. After turning terrain resolution to low and disabling the clouds the microstuttering is completely gone as are the FPS spikes. That doesn't make it better, but maybe this helps to point in the direction of the causing changes so ED @BIGNEWY can reevaluate. I definitely get a better performance than before on the ground and/or at night with illuminated cities. So there is improvement on one end.

investigating Large performance drop in VR after updating to 2.8
Pasquale1986 replied to some1's topic in Game Performance Bugs
That happens, when you have shadows on but terrain shadows off - gave me some headaches as well today -
@BIGNEWY you guys could have mentioned, that you gave Liwa AFB a very nice and comprehensive scenery upgrade! very very nice guys!

Hey @IronMike i think i got this. When you have terrain shadows disabled and "normal" shadows on, then the shadow of the F-14 is always projected on everything. If the aircraft is on the ground the shadow is projected on everything you look at. E.G if the aircraft is placed under a roof and you use the external view, the shadow of the aircraft is projected on the roof. Should be pretty easy to replicate. If shadows and terrain shadows are turned on, the problem doesn't occur. -

Thx for the check. On Persian Gulf and Caucasus. There seems to be a Problem with the shadows - as said it seems the shadows of the A/C are projected in the Cockpit. Its pretty visible on my end while standing on the runway. Metashaders and fxo folders were deleted a lot since the update to 2.8 -

Has anyone else problems with the cockpit illumination and shadows? Since 2.8 even under heavy clouds - where it's really dark - the cockpit is brightly illuminated. I get no such problems with the Hornet. And the shadows og the Aircraft on the ground are projected onto the Cockpit. Looks extremely weird while standing on the runway - it gives a semi opaque impression in VR -
Thanks for the idea! Doesn't help on my end though. When i want to get anywhere near my normal FPS range i simply have to deactivate the clouds, use preset "nothing" and shadows. On my end it seems like a direct consequence of new weather - new weather locks my FPS to 32 or lower. Performance with the new night lighting e.g. over Abu Dabi is vastly improved. Same over here.
-
At least the performance with the new lighting system is much better than before on my system and it looks amazing
-
Same over here but with oculusVR and a 1070. Lost around 15 to 20 FPS over all altitudes and even if i just look up in the sky with no clouds or objects in view
-
Yep works - thank you. Until this update i used "View center" because you can press and hold it to adjust the camera in VR which was very handy. That doesn't work anymore. And i lost 15 - 20 FPS in VR, too - even in a clean NTTR map (was locked at 45 FPS in 2,7), with occasional micro stuttering...
-
Hey guys, i can't recenter the view as a VR user - it's unusable at the moment. I used the "View Center" function before. Has anyone got an idea what could has caused this or how to mitigate this problem?

We have the new AI model incoming; we have multicrew developing quite nicely; HB is working on the A-6E; Maps (esp. with Kola anounced) are getting bigger and bigger; it's time to think about producing some multicrew heavy bombers and the BUFF is the most versatile and interesting choice there and it's just cool. Bottom Line: We need a B-52 Module
