Update : MiG-21 Yaws violently to the left - Issue isolated
THERION replied to foxonefoxtwo's topic in MiG-21Bis
You definitely need to check ALL your axis assignments for your MiG-21. I'm nearly 100% sure, you will find some double assigned axis. This happened to me not only with the MiG-21, but on all plane modules - especially when you just bought one and you didn't set up any inputs / buttons. And DCS has the bad habit of assigning every single axis you may have to nearly all axis input options for a plane, when you start with a new module. The first thing I do, is to clear all the categories in the axis setup options - except for the mouse and TrackIR input axis! This way, I make sure not to have any axis interfering with each other. -
Choose the new name for WSO AI. It can't be Jester anymore

I'd opt for "Vanessa"... -
If I remember correctly, you need FC3 to make it work as a flyable/playable aircraft. A lot of modded aircraft need FC3 as a base to be flown. There are only a few aircraft mods running without FC3, like for example the A-4E v. 2.0.

Make sure your windows explorer shows you all file types - as I can see on your screenshots, the file extensions are not displayed. In the option menu of your windows explorer/file explorer you can change it and make the explorer to show all file types and especially hidden files. Without this, you hardly get at chance to see all files.

Community A-4E-C v2.3 (May 2025)
THERION replied to plusnine's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
I had a similar issue with another mod the other day - the RAFALE 005 pack. I found the problem, so check: In DCS go into the module manager and have a look in the tab "installed". Here make sure your mod is not disabled (green slider button). -

Hello guys, thank you so much for this absolutely amazing work - what a beautiful airplane!!! Really nice and with lovely details. You did a very very good job, a piece of art... and to be honest, I have some payed modules that don't look as good as your mod. Thank you very much guys. Cheers -
Merci.

Sorry, it seems that I overlooked this. Excuse-me.

I've also noticed a strange issue - it is not related to a specific plane. Although performance in general did not get worse, but still is a problem, now I get some strange "blackouts" when looking at the mirror, especially over cities. These "blackouts" have nothing to do with the intended blackouts after harsh manoeuvres - no, is when flying level over a city and checking the mirror. If I turn off the mirror, the problem is gone. I upgraded my rig recently and I don't push the graphic settings to the limits. I really start loosing my patience! The modules are definitively NOT cheap and I spent a lot of money for DCS. I ask myself if I can expect some optimization for DCS World from ED or do I have to change my hardware every quarter or after every major update? This is nonsense!

You can download the actual manual in the first post I think.

I don't think so - it is applicable for both versions.

Test flying by chords(!) and not visual cues only
THERION replied to jonfog's topic in DCS Core Wish List
This is a general problem in flight simulators - no matter how good your setup actually is. Some have FFB devices which might give some cues, but still it is not very convincing. But did you try out the JetSeat? This device gives you a lot of tactile cues (well it's actually a rumble/vibration) and helps a lot to compensate the lack of forces and feedback you would actually have in an airplane, car or whatever you think of. The JetSeat is completely configurable with the free software for DCS. I do have this device and it helps me a lot. Also with this device I learned to fly clean too, meaning to have your plane trimmed and glide well. Here you will get some further information: For the free software: Cheers -
I had the same experience, but in my case I did consult the manual - I love reading manuals. There you will find everything you need to know. Just saying...
-
Did you say "and IF it will become a full module"??? This is absolute blasphemy to use IF in context with the Mirage III.
-
Yeah - it works and I never changed anything on this matter in the control settings of DCS.
-
It's actually RCtrl + Pause for me...

So, finally the stable version has the same "feature" in loss of FPS. Now, you will also have some complaints from the stable guys. I really hope ED is not going to neglect this issue and find a fix for this. Right now, I will definitively stop spending money on DCS, although I know that ED does not care.

Hi my friend and welcome there are a lot of guys here who'd like to have your FPS experience. These are very good numbers. Did you try to cap your FPS in the Nvidia Control Panel? To let's say 80 or 100. With this you may equalize your FPS and still have a very smooth experience. Cheers

Tried as suggested - but alas, nothing changed here on my system.

Who and for what Would you like to buy any new modules?

Who and for what Would you like to buy any new modules?
THERION replied to mosqui's topic in Game Performance Bugs
That's a really silly remark! People complaining have brand-new GPUs and good CPUs! The game engine needs serious improvements by ED. And they need to set it on the top of their ToDo list. Because, if you're building a house and you realize that the basement is weak and leaking, for sure you do not start buying expensive furniture and marble plates for your bathroom as long as the f***ing basement is not OK, don't you? -
Hello everyone, I have some questions regarding the Fullscreen mode in DCS: In DCS I have Fullscreen activated in the options of the game. Now, I very often read about using LALT + Enter to activate or make sure, Fullscreen mode is active. 1. Is this keyboard combination a toggle function (on/off)? 2. Why do I need to use this keyboard combination although I've already activated Fullscreen mode in the game's options? 3. How can I configure DCS the way it is always running in Fullscreen mode and how can I actually see, if my game is running in Fullscreen mode (during a flight f.ex.)? Some advise would be very appreciated. Thank you. Cheers
