Although I do not have the Hind at the moment, I guess you should also adjust the RPM of the engine. Maybe you run your engine on too low RPM.
-
Well, half still means 75000, right? Try something like 40-45000 and have a go. And you might reconsider to review your shadows settings too.
-
OK - I have the same NCP settings like you, all default except "power management", FXAA on as I do not use MSAA (a potential performance killer too). Now, my graphic card is not as good as your one - I've got an MSI 1070 / 8 GB VRAM and I do not OC it. My CPU is a i5-11600K again, not overclocked at all, but turbo kicks in with 4,9 Mhz. Here are my settings in DCS. With these settings I only have small minor micro stutter on the Syria and Marianas map, all other maps run smoothly. Maybe you try these and see what you get? And do not set preload radius to the max., this will fill up you RAM without a reasonable advantage. So here are my DCS settings: Be aware that shadows are a total performance killer and you only notice them when flying low, if you do some sight seeing (my personal taste of course). SSAA too can hurt. Cheerio

I think he already overclocked his CPU, given the i5-9600K runs with 4,6 MHz in turbo mode. But to me it seems the CPU is the bottleneck here. Maybe one should show us the actual graphic settings of DCS and also the NVidia panel settings @Nealius. On the other hand, I also noticed some micro stutters every now and then on the Syria map with my rig. All other maps, except for the Marianas, run smoothly. Maybe there are still performance issues on those two maps. But that's just a guess.

Yes, you are right - time goes by so quickly. I used to setup and run Novell OS servers, then moving to IBM OS server to end up finally with Windows OS servers and desktop/notebooks. But at the end with all reorganizations survived, I ended up in 2nd/3rd level SW support for the last 15 years...

Hi all, thank you for your reply, @Rudel_chw. I sorted it all out (puh!). My OS is actually on a spinning disc. As I said, it works perfectly on the old crate. Now, for all of you building a new gen computer, your HDD (spinning device) might not be recognized correctly, although seen in the BIOS. The main raison, especially in my case, I migrated from Win 7 to Win 10 on my old computer with that said HDD (1TB). - The thing apparently is Win 7 does format resp. allocates the HDD differently as Win 10 would do with a brand new install. - Thus, the HDD will not be recognized correctly on new gen motherboard, especially the ones designed to have SSD type of hard drives. - I checked the BIOS again and enabled the compatibility mode to ensure old devices like my HDD will be recognized properly (legacy mode). - After this change and a lot of praying, my HDD was finally recognized and my new rig booted correctly. What a journey! Cheers Ehm, now what shall I say... I'm an IT guy, but it is my first build after 20 bloody years... a lot has changed since then. Now that I think of it, I'm getting really old!

Yes, but the problem is I cannot change the booting order - it always tells me, that there is no booting device.

Hi all, I just build my new system and now I have the problem that my HDD is not recognized correctly - I cannot boot the system, I always get into the bios. My motherboard: ASUS TUF Gaming Z590-Plus CPU: I5-11600K / LGA1200 RAM: Crucial 32 GB 3200 SSD: Samsung 970 EVOPlus GPU: MSI 1070 8 GB I updated the bios to newest release. Storage information show both drives, but the HDD, which is 1 TB is displayed as 2 TB. The HDD is the one with my Windows 10 (up to date). And yes, it worked this morning and I was flying yesterday evening without any issues. Any ideas? Thanks in advance Cheerio

No good quality??? Are you kidding us? To me it looks absolutely great! Cheers

Make sure your Windows OS is not managing the power settings of your USB devices. You can check it like this: Sometimes enabling USB power management by Win OS can cause weird behaviour like devices suddenly not being available anymore, as they went into sleeping mode.

Man, this term has been used so many times in the past and still is. I fear a bad outcome...

VR performance very disappointing looks nothing like ED videos
THERION replied to VRuser187's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Well, if you look at IL2 Great Battles (don't confound with Cliffs of Dover!) it seems, they're handling things better visual-wise/performance-wise. And there is absolutely no one owning a 2070/3080 etc. graphic card struggling with high settings in VR. I know, their using a different graphic engine, yes, but here to me it seems they continue to blow up the eye-candy without doing considerable performance optimization. Well, I wouldn't bet on this. Sure, Vulcan engine seems promising and quite good performance-wise, but you also need to clean up the code of the existing engine, because otherwise you will still have some performance issues. -

THERION replied to VRuser187's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I think it also depends on your "grass settings". I don't see any difference either on your cropped picture, but maybe you should try to display the map MFD on both settings and compare it - who knows, there might be a visible difference? I don't know. -

When I read the forum and all the complaints of the last months, I come to the conclusion that ED might have already chosen their way... all quiet on the performance optimization front. -
Hi, I'm not sure, but judging your short video it seems you're using mods? I can't remember F117 is already available as a module. So, assuming I might be on the right track, I'd suggest: - deactivate all installed mods first, at least for the moment (some mods might not be compatible with 2.7) - use only official modules and test again - try a scenario without clouds, then use a cloud set step by step - maybe there is an issue with the new clouds? - try the use a clean graphic card setup (NVidia control panel f.ex. or analogue to AMD), so no crazy settings / OC etc. Cheerio

Best+cheap Rudder pedal for use with TM Warthog?
THERION replied to Zoddom's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
It really depends on the budget you are willing to toss in. Crosswind, Virpil etc. are high quality rudder pedals, but they also quite expensive. Although a lot of gents claim that Saitek Rudder Pedals are bad and cheap - my experience is quite different. I've got those Saitek pedals now for over 5 years and they do better than its reputation. They are precise, yes they are, I have no spikes, no wobbling and they offer differential braking axis (left and right toe brakes). I use them since more than 5 years on a daily basis and I'm happy with them. And most of all, they are not as narrow as CH pedals and therefore comfy... Of course, if my budget would allow, I'd go for Virpil, Crosswind or a set of a bloody expensive Thrustmaster TRP Pendular Rudder pedal. But that's another story. Cheers -
Server profanity Filter - provide the list please

Welcome to the brave new world - all is very nice, we all have pearl white brushed teeth, we talk nice, we don't swear at all, go to church on Sundays, pray to God to save our souls... so nice and everybody wears his gun to protect all those ideals. Ridiculous, simply RI-DI-CU-LOUS... If you're really serious about all of this "cleaning", so don't forget to list all those individuals using Nazi / 3rd-Reich related nicknames for their avatars. -
1. AoA can be activated as an option, which you will find in the options tab "special". Here you select the Mirage 2000 on the left hand side to see the special options available for the Mirage 2000. There you will see the option "Show the AoA in the HUD" (first checkbox). 2. This is the second view of the VTB radar - B-scope mode. The other view is PPI mode.

Simple strategy for you: Complain about your back and ask your wife every evening to give you a shoulder / back massage with oil etc. and I assure you, after a week or so, she will gladly approve your investment for this JetSeat.

As soon as you purchased FC3 and you got a confirmation, you can start DCS and you will be able to download/install FC3 through your module manager in DCS.
-
Hm, sorry to disappoint you, my friend, but "more than capable"? No, I don't think so. The Syria map is extremely demanding! 8 GB of RAM is definitely not enough to run it sensibly - the map alone, with no action on it and you alone in your plane will eat approx. 14-16 GB of RAM.

I love this plane module as I always loved the Mirage - it's one of the most beautiful and elegant airplane to me. There are several reasons for this: 1. I'm French - so this is self-explanatory 2. I'm also Swiss - this is self-explanatory too because we had the Mirage III 3. Although a modern airplane, it is not too complicated to learn and master, but I'm still a beginner 4. This plane is deadly in good hands, even against an F16 or F18 - a real challenge This module is still not completed, yes, but I have a lot of fun flying this beautiful aircraft.

[NO BUG] "G" and "W" control assignments missing
THERION replied to Silent Film's topic in Resolved Bugs
Well, I can tell you the cause - It's been so since the last update. I too lost some key bindings. There's not only the brakes and landing gear you should check. I also had trouble with the autopilot, some weapons selections and radar functions. They updated/enhanced the key binding possibilities and that's why some old key binding options didn't work anymore - and yes, they did it without warning and without my permission.
