  1. That's good info. I think he's on the stable steam and wmr version though and he has a 1080ti so 100% should be fine for both global and application settings. But if it's the stable steam vr version 100% might be too much. Maybe try 80%?
  2. Try this guide. https://vr4dcs.com/2019/08/03/rig-tuning-tools-list/
  3. There are others here with a 1080ti that run the reverb. I'm not sure how far back those posts are. I think there should be a sticky thread with the settings for each of the software settings but I don't know if we have one. Make sure to set shadows to low or off and global shadows flat. Set pixel density in dcs to 1.0. Turn off civ traffic, lower the amount of trees and fog if you have all that maxed. Turn off msaa too.
  4. That's the first thing I did when I got an nvme 1tb drive. Formatted and reinstalled windows with just that drive active and then attached my other drives after. I have dcs on another 1tb ssd which is really full now and I haven't updated dcs in months either. I will have to do so when I get the reverb though. Im glad it works fine on a separate hd than the os because it sure takes up a lot of space but at least it does not take long to load.
  5. I think at this point all of them come with a clip included. If everyone else's that was ordered from HP has shipped by now and have no issues I think I'm comfortable enough to order one soon and finally replace the odyssey. I'll probably put up my Odyssey for sale when I get home.
  6. Apparently the Reddit post says if the box has L54016-001 Rev A on it this should be the new box. Will also wait to see what the voodomax user says in that thread.
  7. Yea the voodomax user on Reddit said the new ones come in boxes that look different. I asked him what the new box should look like because I'll be ordering from HP US site soon.
  8. Hmm it should be the newer version. Try the driver update the person above mentioned and if that doesn't help, definitely contact HP directly or on Reddit and let them know. If some of the new models have the issue still, they should definitely know.
  9. Did you order from HP direct or a third party?
  10. Yea I'm not sure if this is recent because it's been happening to me ever since I swapped from the rift CV1 to the regular odyssey. But that's when someone mentioned just putting the headset on, and clicking dcs icon through the desktop app in the cliff house.
  11. I used to do that in my original odyssey but after I was done with DCS and I exited the game, then closed wmr window, the next time I wanted to fly if I just clicked my dcs icon on my desktop, it would not launch. Wmr would open up and steam vr too but only cliff house in the headset showed up and dcs would be running in the wmr window on my desktop. I'd have to reboot my PC or use task manager and force close everything related to vr for it to get it to launch like you described. But at least launching through the headset I never had that issue again.
  12. Just put the headset on, cliff house will come up. The first time you will need to open the desktop app. From then on, each time you put the headset on it will load up cliff house with your desktop open. You then just click on your dcs shortcut. This way you are launching dcs in VR through your headset. Everything else gets launched as needed automatically. You still have to go alt+enter to make the window full screen on your monitor.
  13. Damn that's unfortunate because I was hoping you would have gotten a revision 2 but no one really knows except to go by the date on the device. I'm waiting a bit until some people that ordered from HP to see how they fair out.
  14. I've ordered similar ones for my Odyssey but from here: https://widmovr.com/product/hp-reverb-prescription-lens-adapters/ The ones for the odyssey weren't too thick and are fine but looks like I'll need to order new ones for when I get a Reverb. I'm not sure about the site you linked, I had a good experience with mine.
  15. Nice I'll have to practice how to use the AGM as I haven't flown the hornet in a while. Waiting on the HP Reverb before I play this campaign again.
  16. Very nice case. I have an entho evolve tempered glass case which is very heavy but looks really nice. I don't mind the rgb as long as I can configure them to turn off. Gigabyte has some nice sound options too integrated. My Asus also has this but with the latest windows 10 their standalone app that enhances the audio doesn't work so I have to use the built in windows one for Asus which was a bit weird at first. If I remember correctly the first time I chose gigabyte too because they had a lot of USB 3.0 ports on the back. Funny, I have mine on a wooden plank too under my desk haha.
  17. That's unfortunate, in that case make sure to spend a proper amount of $ for a good board. Gigabyte and Asus are pretty good with neat features now. My brother has my gigabyte g1 board now when I switched to the 8700k processor and it's still running fine (it's probably 3 years old now if not older). Make sure it has the right amount of USB ports as last year I noticed several mobos were skimping out on the number of 3.0 ports available. Should not be an issue if you add a USB card but I like to have them on the board since I use mostly all of them. Pcie ssd and m2 slots should be standard by now on most boards. As long as you future proof it for whatever you may want to add. If you do only just buy a board just check to make sure your ram will work. Most new boards will support ddr4 but if you are building a new system your current ram sticks won't matter as you may need new ones anyway.
  18. Doesn't have to be an ROG Mobo. I have a z370e Asus board and it works fine for wmr and my original odyssey. Any recent Mobo that supports the newer Intel chips should also support avx instructions. I also recommend microcenter if it's close to you because changing a Mobo isn't tough but it's time consuming so if anything does not boot up or post it's easy to return to microcenter. My second build, a brand new Asus board never booted up so I took it back and they let me get a different one no questions asked.
  19. I also have a seasonic 850 they are very good brands. Most USB power issues though come from the motherboard. For me the innatek card didn't work with the Cv1 for long. I had to order a startech one that had individual power bus delivery.
  20. Of course lol. The girlfriend will be very upset if I'm trying to use a computer while away with her on what's supposed to be a romantic birthday vacation. Although I can't wait to also get back to flying after months of not doing so and waiting for a better resolution.
  21. Yea I can't order anyway right now so I'll wait. Seems like one guy here will get it soon so I'll be reading his response on it while laying on a nice island beach :)
  22. Yea im not worried about price. Just concerned if HP will have stock when I get back as I don't have access to a PC or internet until I get back on the 21st. Right now I'm getting ready to leave for vacation but I figure I'll have a chance as soon as I get back to get one and finally replace my original odyssey.
  23. Yea I plan on ordering directly from HP but since I won't be back or near a PC anytime until the 21st I was wondering if they would sell out and I would have to wait another month or so. I will definitely not order from a third party even not from Amazon at this point since like you said who knows if they have old or new stock.
  24. Do we know if stock is to be better now? I won't be home soon but I do want to get one as long as it's a new revision. Debating if I should order one now or wait until the 21st as that's when I'll be back home.
  25. I'll probably place my order when I get back from vacation, directly with HP if possible. The way I set up the original odyssey was simple. Plugged it in, windows started downloading updates to apply windows mixed reality. I then downloaded and installed steam vr through steam and wmr for steam vr also from within steam. I used to start dcs by putting on the headset, cliff house comes up. I would open my desktop from within the cliff house and use the mouse to double click the dcs icon. Everything should launch from within the headset without issue. You just have to hit alt+enter to go full screen on the VR window that pops up on your monitor.
