Bad cable design that causes disconnects and flickering which others have stated HP acknowledged doesn't really have anything to do with tuning and attempting to properly get it playable in dcs. We're talking about a sim here that everyone who's had vr already knows you have to mess with settings to get it right. Mind you also probably the least optimized sims compared to others in the VR category. If a company screws up and I'm a consumer I will buy their product as soon as I know they've fixed it properly. Wmr isn't exactly oculus where you just plug in and have a smooth experience anyway. I'm waiting until the revised units with the faulty cable design are out and then I'll purchase one. Dealing with returns from anyone other than amazon/best buy/Google is a pain in the butt anyway. That's disappointing. I'm betting the support people didn't realize what part they needed to send you since they had a hard time sourcing it in the beginning. Weird that it would cost so much.

Do we know if these are the revised editions?
-
Yea I'd like to know as well. Will wait a bit longer before I decide to finally order if it is indeed the fixed model.
-
I believe the new wmr update that fixed the issues with 1903 also did soemthing to this resolution slider in steamvr, as I remember he mentioned it automatically recommended that percentage after the update. You can still manually set it yourself too.
-
Most likely because they were ordered a long time ago and since there wasn't a recall, they don't seem to do anything.
-
You can only throw hardware at it so much. In the end the game has to be optimized properly.
-
That's what I am doing. I've had my 1080ti for two years now and it's served me well. I will wait until the next series which may be in the spring of 2020. I also think they will be expensive and we will pay through the nose but that's because there is competition at the low and mid range, just not at the top end.

If your Amazon order is shipping in September or October you are probably ok. That's when I expect the fixed headsets to be done production and ready to sell.
-
Let them fix the bad cable design first before you give them any money.
-
Does quest even work with DCS? I thought it's an all in one type of headset without a way to connect it to the PC?
-
As long as you drop down on shadows like other people have mentioned, you should be fine. There are 2-3 people here with 1080ti's including me. But I don't have a reverb yet. Another person with a 2080 which is similar.
-
Yea looks like the rest of us will have to wait until September or October to get the second version of them if they corrected the cable problem. I'm glad the new Windows update actually fixes the resolution issue now.

To be fair not everyone has the same vision. Most of them are at the beginning of this thread. I just stuck with the mod and never went online. Works for me up to this point but I have flown in months so I have no clue if anything has changed since. I was just surprised because it got quite in this thread after that mod and then all of a sudden it came alive again.
-
Yea I see this a lot too. This is the point I just give up because you just end up in a conversation that goes in circles.
-
Will be looking forward to what you have to say about this model. My best buy didn't even have any in stock in my area.
-
I thought there is now an option in the settings to choose a cleaner pit? I just use the available mod since I haven't been online with it.
-
Why would this consumer version be different than the first wave of units that were shipped out? Anyway I wish you luck. I'm guessing best buy may have got old stock? If anything happens after the 15 day return window I don't know if you get the same warranty perks as the pro model from HP.
-
Eh I'm there waiting along with you. Haven't put on my odyssey in months. Now that the bug for wmr is fixed maybe I'll continue the enemy within 3.0 campaign one day. Was really hoping the new hmd would help me out with clarity and stuff. Looks like we will see what happens by September.
-
Pretty sure at the rate things are going with HP it would be more than a few weeks. I'm willing to bet at least 2 months until they fix production and start shipping them out. Surely enough I think stock will still be an issue.
-
In windows wmr settings you can select 60 or 90 and it will apply it I believe.
-
Damn that's horrible. Also, it will be short stock too so probably still difficult to buy. Well I guess I'll get back to flying one day with my Odyssey instead. At least on July 9th they are supposed to fix the wmr issue that makes things blurry.

Usually in the US we get only one year manufacturer warranty. But the pro version is supposed to have 2 years since it's a business type device. Along with that you are supposed to get faster rma support. I think he got his in the US early on when orders first came through. I don't know anyone else in the US who got one except for reviewers.
-
Really depends how much you use it and how much you enjoy it currently. I haven't flown in months anyway so I'm fine with waiting either way. But if the have not informed you of a timeline for parts or repairs, then you may be waiting a while. I have no choice to wait though and I would hope that in some time they will provide a response to consumers.
-
Please do report if you get another one anytime soon. I'm just curious how it turns out because you can't even buy it in US yet.
-
I'm curious if any of the major reviewers have went back and reviewed again if they ran into the same issues we see here. Seeing as the cable design is faulty, it's only a matter of time until it possibly happens on their units too.
