This is also why I bought my jetseat from Andre. I saw this site previously and I didn't trust that it would all go smoothly. Hopefully you can at least get your money back. 4 months is a long time to be waiting.
-
That's basically what I'm waiting for before I order. I've waited this long, I'll wait a bit more.
-
Should I also order from HP USA? I am just worried I may get an old one or one with a clip. I'll be back from vacation on the 21st so I would have it later. Running a 1080ti and 32gb with an 8700k here. Or is it better to wait for that guy on Reddit to confirm?
-
Yea I posted in that Reddit thread. Will wait to see what he says. I'm going in vacation soon so hopefully by the time I'm back we will have some answers.
-
I'm also wondering the same thing. Will all new ones come with a clip?
-
That's not really a recall. It's just best buy and amazon deciding not to sell it while versions with the issues may still be out there. An actual recall I would expect HP to say something publicly and allow everyone who got one to send theirs in for an exchange. Probably too low on supply to deal with that. Either way it was a crappy launch for them.
-
Yea I have 30 days to return to best buy too because of elite member status or whatever they call it. I'll keep waiting and see what happens but I'd like to get back into dcs at some point.
-
I'm just gonna wait until these are available on Amazon. Amazon returns are so easy today even if I have to wait until 2020 to get one. I don't want to deal with third parties involved. By the sound of what I've read here doesn't sound like dealing with HP would be difficult but at least time it would be time consuming.
-
Same here I won't order from anywhere else and honestly I want to make sure I end up getting a refreshed model. HP hasn't even publicly communicated about a refreshed model to anyone except those that had the first batch who have been in contact with support.
-
Yup those are the ones.
-
Or they were suppose to be wearing glasses/contacts with either headset.
-
Take a flat head screw driver and hold it on the two pins you see in the pic. At the same time plug it in to the PC. Anything metal will work as long as you put it on the two pins. It will take some time to get it right.

Yea I would return it and wait if you want to be safe and not deal with shipping it back and forth to HP if anything happens later. This sucks because I have not flown dcs in like 4 months. I told myself I would get back in when I get a new headset. Mainly because my original odyssey is just uncomfortable and I usually play single player campaigns..some sorties are very long and if I fail I don't retry it because it's just uncomfortable in the odyssey so far. Plus I want to better visuals too as that would help me out. That's the first I've heard of a major company saying their 1 year manufacturer warranty only covers parts. This isn't a washer or dryer, but just an tech gadget. As long as you are within the one year period an exchange should be done until you get a working one. That's very sad. I remember I had issues with a phone from Google 2 years ago. Each time I sent it back within the year and got a brand new one. Well, up until the point they started shipping refurbished units because it was 6+ months in. Reminds me of a projector I just bought from xgimi on Amazon. Great projector, awesome picture quality but one year warranty just means I have to send it back to China because they don't have a base in US. That alone makes me contemplate sending it back to Amazon for fear of something going wrong and then I'm out about 1k. Funny thing is I was hoping to spend a portion of that money on a V2 reverb lol.

Yea that sounds like more than just a cable design issue. Seems like it wasn't really ready for prime time yet. Oh well, it will most likely be a long time before I'll be able to have one.
-
That's pretty crappy on their part. If you have an older model with them now knowing it had issues, I feel like they should replace them. But I think they want to avoid a recall.
-
Ah in that sense consumer I'm thinking us but in reality it means businesses. Makes more sense now.
-
It's very rare that the consumer version would get 3 years and the pro model only one year. In the US very few products have a manufacturer warranty more than one year any way. At least that's how it is with most electronics. In Europe it's bit different.
-
So strange as that's what I read too. That is probably a mistake. Contact support and see what they say about the warranty.
-
Is the headset on your face seated properly? It could be the ipd software setting that's doing that.
-
Weird. The only time I had the issue described I took the headset off and realized I wasn't in full screen mode and the mouse had wondered out if the VR window into the desktop.
-
Do you press alt+enter after launching dcs in VR? It makes the app go full screen so the mouse doesn't wonder off the VR interface.
-
I really hope they had enough time to revise a V2 if there were other issues besides the cables keeping a solid connection. If he was adamant enough to mention a second version, that most likely means there will be. But in that case what do they do for the existing ones they already sold? I'd certainly want the second model if I received one with clips in the box for the cables. Wouldn't a recall work better in this situation? They probably don't have enough stock on hand to do that at this point in time, is my guess.

I have that card. I initially bought it when I had my Oculus Cv1 because my motherboard didn't have enough USB slots. I had problems with this card. Couldn't find which firmware worked best. Had my hotas and oculus and later the odyssey plugged into it. I would get random disconnects from my warthog then the flight pedals. I would see my throttle light up then intermittently go off. At one point the sensor in the Oculus would also have issues being recognized. So I bought this one and haven't had an issue since. I can't remember if the innatek card is still installed, most likely not since I needed the full bandwidth pcie slot. 4 Port PCI Express (PCIe)... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HJZEA2S?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I had to do that for the odyssey too 4 months ago. I screwed it up by changing to steam vr beta and wmr for steam beta which also changed the windows wmr app. I had a bunch of crashes and I had to result to unplugging the headset, removing wmr from windows settings and then removing steam vr beta and the companion wmr beta from within steam. This way I just stayed with the release version of both apps. Quite a pain really. I can't wait until dcs gets native wmr support. Hopefully by then i will also have a Reverb too because I haven't flown at all in a long time.
