Hi, I think it would be helpful if the communications menu was expanded so that we could ask the wingmen about their status. For example, damage to the aircraft, number of weapons still available, fuel, current position (based on your own aircraft). I think that would bring more dynamism to the game.

Expectation on Air to Air missiles of the MiG-29A?
kotor633 replied to pepin1234's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
This thread is about the Mig-29A. But since the Mig-29SMT is mentioned here: I found this link. I personally find it very informative, perhaps it will interest one or two people too. It's just a shame that in DCS we can only dream of this armament for the upcoming FF A version... And regarding the R-27 T version: Then I don't have a bad conscience if I use it on the Mig-29A: http://www.csla.cz/technika/letouny/mig29.htm "Z protiletecké raketové výzbroje byly v našem letectvu požívána radiolokačně naváděné střely R-27R a infračervené R-27T, R-60, R-60M a R-73." -
And then a revised (FF) Su-33 (Su-27 would be fine too. But with the Su-33 we would be more flexible, in terms of air refueling, carrier takeoff/landing). Or how about a Mig-27? As far as helicopters are concerned, a Mi-28 would be absolutely brilliant. My opinion is that we simply have too many western aircraft in DCS. Enough is enough. And I also think that the avionics of the Russian modules have their own charm.

Topic closed. I feel the same as you, I'm so happy! This newsletter is incredible, the best in a long time. Thanks ED for that!

Expectation on Air to Air missiles of the MiG-29A?
kotor633 replied to pepin1234's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
Thanks for the feedback, but that still doesn't disprove the statement that "the IR guided R-27T is not available for the MiG-29". Because your text also mentions the Su-27. -
Expectation on Air to Air missiles of the MiG-29A?
kotor633 replied to pepin1234's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
Hi, regarding Mig-29 & R-27T I found the following statement: "There is no nitrogen tank in the inner main pylon, so the R-27T is not applicable for the MiG-29. The R-27T is only avaiable for the Su-27 and this caused a misunderstand in West. The MiG-29 only able to carry IR missile at the inner position, if it is an R-73, with its own pylon, like the two external ones. So the MiG-29 could carry six R-73, or four R-73 and two R-27R (and the R-60M as an early alternative for the R-73). The IR guided R-27T is not available for the MiG-29." Is that correct? -
What fighter jet gives the F-16 the most trouble?
kotor633 replied to cptmrcalm's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Hi, I'm asking myself a similar question right now. However, with regard to the Mig-29. But coming back to your question: I think we should differentiate between BVR and dogfighting? I don't know much about the subject, but from what I've heard so far, a Su-27 or an F-15C are right up there with the best opponents who are supposed to make your digital life hell in air combat... -

kotor633 Mig-29: Training Guide ( no discussion )
kotor633 replied to kotor633's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
Since everything in DCS for me personally has been about the announced FF Mig-29A in the last few weeks, I thought it would be good to post more tutorials on this model here. I really hope that when the model is released, more high-quality tutorials will appear on YouTube. -
Hi, ich danke euch Zweien für die Klarstellung.

Hi, that's good to hear. Thanks for your clarification.

It says clearly here: "This will feature either the AN/APG-63(V)1 or AN/APG-70 radars (TBD which one)". For me that means that ED isn't quite sure yet and we just have to be patient a little longer.

Hallo, aufgrund des aktuellen Sales liebäugel ich mit der F-15C & deren 4 Kampagnen. Was ich mal gelesen habe ich das The Georgien War sehr storylastig sein soll. Was mir nicht so zusagt. Aber lohnen sich diese Kampagnen? Sind sie fordernd? Haben sie Tiefgang?

Since January 18, 2024, the status is "the English translation was finished and is currently being proof read." But there is a recurring theme: still waiting for an English manual for the JF-17 (yes, that's not ED's job, but you can trigger the third-party providers to at least provide an English-language manual), the ARC-210 is still not mentioned in the A-10C manual.

I think that the statement "no one is forced to buy EA modules" is a quick one, but not thought through. What would be the alternative? Not using DCS? Waiting years until the module that really interests you is out of EA? Which would mean that ED would have to forego sales. And you would have to ask yourself how long ED could compensate for something like that... Simply buy another, finished module? That you might not be interested in or not at all (and thus spend money unnecessarily)? In the ED shop, if I haven't miscounted, 22 products (21 if you leave out the F-15E due to the RB/ED situation) are marked as EA. It's possible that my line of thinking isn't entirely correct, but I do think that if you choose ED you are somewhat forced to buy EA products. The business model is designed for this. Polychop was a positive exception with their Kiowa last year. And yes, EA doesn't necessarily mean that it's bad per se.

Exactly, it's just annoying! What I do is that when I see that this particular user Ronin_Gaijin has posted something in this thread, I don't go in there at all anymore.

This is all described exactly in the AV8B manual or Chuck's Guide. There are also plenty of tutorials on YouTube.
