  2. Mostly single player, starting to play more multiplayer nowadays for me... For me, when I started out, playing on airquake/spamraam type servers really turned me off of Multiplayer. As someone with an aviation background, and a keen interest in military aviation, the utter lack of realism really bothered me. So I started playing single player missions, and began designing my own. The whole squadron scene intrigues me, but I do not have the time to commit to a formal structure such as they are. Currently my multiplayer flying consists of flying once every week or two with the folks over on the Wingman Finder Discord channel https://discord.gg/sx4YEV I like to think the missions I have been designing lately for single player are some of the most realistic scenarios you can get in the game. I'd invite any of the "Mostly Multi" crew to check them out here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/?set_filter=Y&arrFilter_pf%5Bfiletype%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Bgameversion%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Bfilelang%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Baircraft%5D=&arrFilter_DATE_CREATE_1_DAYS_TO_BACK=&CREATED_BY=sedlo&sort_by_order=TIMESTAMP_X_DESC&set_filter=Filter
  3. Knife Fight In a Phonebooth Knife fight in a Phonebooth is a multiplayer, COOP or PVP/PVE mission set on the Persian Gulf Map. The goal for both Red and Blue is to provide close air support to a nearby ground battle, all the meanwhile trying to prevent the other side from doing the same. Flyable aircraft include the F-14B, F/A-18, AV-8B, KA-50, SA-342M, A-10C, and the M2000C, DOWNLOAD LINK: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305720/ Mission Documents can be found here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/bijrx4gukr2jmgd/Knife%20Fight%20in%20a%20Phonebooth%20Briefing%20PDF.pdf?dl=0 They are also available in each aircraft's kneeboard. MISSION OVERVIEW Today’s mission we will be providing close air support for our ground forces as they try to take back the oil fields from the hostile invaders. WEATHER A strong high pressure system continues to remain in place over the AO, which will give us VFR conditions for the next 24-36 hours. Conditions will be, throughout the area, few clouds and visibility 8 miles in haze. Winds in general will be moderate from the northwest. Overnight temperatures will be in the mid 20’s, rapidly increasing as the sun comes up to the expected high of 39 degrees. Be advised, the enemy will also have this capability. Both AWACS are considered high value national assets, and are defended heavily. Do not try to approach or shoot down the AWACS aircraft. We also will have a UAV patrolling overhead to lase targets of opportunity. Take advantage of this! DO NOT FLY WITHIN 10 NAUTICAL MILES OF THE ENEMY AIRBASE. THEY ARE HEAVILY DEFENDED AND WILL ENGAGE ANY OF OUR FOCES IF YOU ARE WITHIN 10 MILES. IF YOU FLY INTO THE ZONE BY MISTAKE, EXIT AS SOON AS YOU CAN! 2. DO NOT TRY TO TAKE OUT THE ENEMY SAM SYSTEMS AT THEIR OWN BASES. 3. DO NOT TRY TO SHOOT DOWN THE ENEMY AWACS! 4. The ground forces are scripted to be actively engaged in combat. If one enemy formation is destroyed, another will appear shortly to take its place. If all goes well, there will never be any lulls in the battle. 5. Keep an ear out for any pop up bandits. They’re nasty! GOOD LUCK, HAVE FUN, AND DON’T FORGET TO MONITOR GUARD!
  4. Updated the Harrier Red Flag mission to version 1.51.... It adds some new triggers and threats, plus cleans up some of the scripting. Check it out! https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3215738/

  6. Right now the carrier comms seem to be using a numerical representation of the callsign for the first number, plus the last two digits of the MODEX (tail number). eg: Callsign Enfield with a MODEX (Tail Number) 405 is announced as "187". It's WIP, I'm sure it will be sorted out soon.
  7. Hello! Is the SET FAILURE action in the mission editor not working anymore? I've got several missions where a failure is due to happen that is not happening anymore in the latest open beta (2.5.5.33184) Attached is sample mission that works in other versions. FAILURE TEST1.miz
  8. Hello! Would it be possible to be able to make the current radio frequencies the radios are tuned to put into cockpit parameters? It would make my mission building so much more realistic. Thanks!
  9. Just uploading a fix now... Should be live shortly.
  10. It’s possible. I’m out of town and can’t check for a few weeks.
  11. This is huge! A great way to keep things organized better. THANKS DCS!
  12. I never really did solve the problem, just haven't used the beacon function with CTLD since.... Not that this is what's going on here, but have a look at your log files and see if it's a similar error. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3573736&postcount=5
  13. Curious, I had this exact problem a year ago or so... Trying to add a sound to an action and ... NOTHING... The sound file in question was the beacon sounds for the CTLD, and once I tried to load that file everything froze.
  14. Outstanding!!!! Thanks, folks! PS, the directory structure has to be like: Config/View (capital letters to start), otherwise it won't work).
  15. When you say add to the Miz file, do you mean unzip the miz, create a folder structure config/view, put labels.lua in it and then zip it back up?
  16. Thanks for the tips! It'd be cool if it was included in the vanilla editor, though.
  17. Just a suggestion... Personally, I find spotting other aircraft in DCS to be very difficult, and often fly the labels on - dot only setting. The issue with that is that the labels are either RED or BLUE, depending on which coalition it is. I find that makes it too easy to tell which dot is a good guy, and which dot I need to engage. Can we have a setting for the Label - Dot Only to be monochrome for all aircraft? Maybe just an yellow or orange dot for all? That way it will still help with spotting, but not make it too easy to tell who is who in the zoo. Please, thanks, over and out. SEDLO
  18. Put this code in as a DO SCRIPT near the start of your mission... Handler = {} function Handler:onEvent(event) if event.id == world.event.S_EVENT_SHOT and event.initiator == Unit.getByName('yourUNITNAME goes here') then trigger.action.setUserFlag('501', true) end end world.addEventHandler(Handler) Give your AI a couple of TRIGGERED ACTION, one being SWITCH WAYPOINT (to whatever one you want it to go to when you shoot), maybe a ROE Weapons Hold, and a REACTION TO THREAT as None. Now, set a condition that when flag 501 becomes true, you make the action AI TASK PUSH, and set the SWITCH WAYPOINT, ROE Hold, and REACTION TO THREAT NONE in the drop down.. Of course, you can make the flag whatever value you want it to be, and don't forget to put the UNIT Name of your aircraft in the code above (not the GROUP NAME).
  19. I found how to do things like this in the word document posted in this thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=81376 Make sure your DCS is not running. Now you need to change a line in the file "Mission Editor.lua" which can be found in your DCS install folder here: Mission Editor/Mission Editor.lua Open that file with Notepad++ and find and change the following value: “OPTIONS_ADD_COMMAND_CODES_TO_TOOLTIP” line from “false” to “true”. Restart DCS and go to the Options/Controls area. Hover your mouse over the keyboard of joystick values of the command you wish to know about and a pop up will show you the command number and the values. Everytime you update, repair or reinstall DCS, you'll have to change the Mission Editor.lua file to enable this again. It will open up a whole new world in your mission making, believe me!
  20. X: Set Command with Value Command: 52 Value: -1
  21. Thanks, Draconus, I'll check it out.
