  1. Since no one really answered your cage question, it's under the hotas commands called cage/uncage. It's the same as used for aim 9 seeker/ changing modes for aim-7/aim-120.
  2. I've flown the hornet and that would be considered more input than blowing on the stick, but the aircraft also has a ratio changer that moves depending on flap scheduling giving more or less authority to the H-stabs. The stick should get slightly less sensitive with flaps full in DCS the aircraft flys just as sensitive as if you were doing 300kts with flaps auto. I have curves on my stick ,but the jet flight model should change pitch sensitivity with flap position change that's how the real aircraft does it.
  3. Yea he seems to be using quite a bit of pitch with only little changes in e bracket, if you breathe on the stick in DCS the bracket goes crazy , seems a little too extreme right now in the amount of lift with flaps full and the Porpoising it does with any pitch adjustment. That was a rhino in the video so it may react differently but it definitely seems like that was a lot less finiky to land.
  4. The brightness knob for the HMD is the knob you use to turn it on above the spin recovery. I think because of the nature it needs to be in both eyes or it will feel very awkward , I remember a bug on the a-10c I believe where something only appeared in one eye and it was uncomfortable.
  5. You won't get a caution if the flight control surface itself gets damaged, there's nothing in the surface to detect that , all the FCS signals come from the servo that moves the surface, only way you would know if that takes a hit.
  6. It will be on the radar when it's finished, it will have your bulls position and the TDC captains bars location will also show its current bulls. So if you have multiple bandits you can say I'm pressing bandit bulls 343 for 40 . Will work for a/g targets as well with radar and FLIR.
  7. Can't wait until they implement damage to the aircraft for over stress, sort of like BMS does with stores errors so there's a consequence to doing it. At the end of the day its supposed to be a simulator, that g overide paddle is a emergency situation only and you would most likely loose your wings for unauthorized use.
  8. Awesome thanks, I'll give it a shot !
  9. Not sure if this was mentioned in here yet, but are you willing to sell the 3d files ? I have the board would just need to print the parts and don't have very good cad skills yet.
  10. Yes the procedure for doing a ground run would be contact tower after #2 is running and request a run-up. For normal starts it wouldn't be practical for say 20 jets to contacting tower for startups they have flight plans filed anyway like you said taxi is the first real contact with tower.
  11. Falling leaf is now not possible with the latest fcs software update.
  12. Yes Canada is running the latest version of the flight control software.
  13. Yea figured that's what it was , one thing that I noticed is the APU ACC caution won't go away on the right panel until #2 is running but it should extinguish about 5-10 sec after cranking the #2 engine since the ats is turning the amad which turns the hyd pump charging the apu accumulator.
  14. Anyone notice since a few updates back she feels a little wobbly in turns? I've flown the hornet and it doesn't have any noticeable yaw rate in corners unless you ask for it, if it did it would probably nose slice depart.
  15. Yea it can keep up somehow.
  16. You can drop a single flare in the actual aircraft.
  17. Awesome work , can really crank the settings now . What mask size are odyssey users using ?
  18. It's not implement yet in dcs but here's what it will look like, this is the vrs superbug @ 47:32 you can see the numbers on the radar page.
  19. Oh ok yea thats not implement yet , but you should have a BRA in the lower left if you select to have it. Also you can get a bulls reference of your tcd displayed in the top next to the bar when they finish the radar.
  20. Its given in true heading from the awacs , the heading tape is in magnetic by default ,you can change it by going hsi-data-ac- mag hdg osb. The top of the radar shows a true heading though.
  21. Well in the actual aircraft is just as hard to see as well so I think they've done a pretty good job with it.
  22. Yes I made my own kneeboard too but its not easy to use in vr , quite impossible actually. I've been making my own in game kneeboards but still doesn't work for multiplayer targets of opportunity.
  23. Yes yes yes , this is something I've been thinking about now , even more so that the hornet is about to be released, I have no way to record coordinates without pulling off my hmd in vr, even if I could store one jtac on screen and pull it up with a command, or pause the message from disappearing. Ideally would be look at f10 map hit a key that saves the coordinates that your cursor is over to the kneeboard. Seems like something that can be implemented pretty easily.
  24. F-18 doesn't get mist in the cockpit because its ECS system removes the moisture.
