I think it would be worth the effort to program it for FC2 and BS. I got an e-mail from BLT today saying they changed the ship date to 9-27. MD

A little research on line shows the price range of the 210 to be $45K to $70K with an average of $55,000 per unit. Not in my budget, but not a billion dollars either. :-)

My father in law is an extremely experienced pilot, he has flown movie stars and wealthy executives around in twin engine private jets, has been a flight instructor for many years etc. and he says even he would have his hands full in that situation....we discussed it once. He said he could "probably" get a heavy down but it "wouldn't be pretty". So I am thinking a sim-only pilot would be pretty screwed in that situation. :cry:

So are you talking about a pilot who has experience in other jet aircraft, or JUST sim experience? There is a big difference.

I would be extremely surprised to see it on 9-15. Sure TM is using DCS Warthog as part of the hype for its new stick, but I don't think thier sole intended market is DCS Warthog customers, and they would be silly not to ship the stick as soon as its ready to go. Personally my guess would be that we might be lucky enough to see the DCS Warthog around the end of October, if all goes perfect. Thats only a wild guess, though.

I would agree that trying to find a balance between black and white and color. with only parts in color to keep the price down a bit, would be a good idea. But if its too pricey at the end of the day, I would prefer to see a B&W printed manual that more people can afford than a color one that only a few people would buy. The Black Shark manual is very useable....if anything, tabbed sections would be nice!

It has roughly the same ballistics as a Mk. 82 LDGP. It is exactly a "heap of metal"...I have a couple of them sitting around....you still wouldn't want to get hit with one. In fact, a couple years ago someone accidentally put one on a house and it did major damage...25 lbs. with that much inertia behind it totals quite a bit of kinetic energy!

Cool to see the different ANG schemes...inculding the 190th from Idaho! BTW....the 190th flies from Gowen Field, just a few miles from where I live, and they are hosting the 2010 A-10 gunnery competition called Hawgsmoke in October....I am trying to get permission to get on base to get some photos....if I am successful I will post them for everyone to see.

I also did not pick up on the TM MFD's being plug and play...thats really cool too! I am just waiting for the Warthog HOTAS to become available for pre-order in the US! Thanks to the ED staff and testers for answering our many questions!

At the end of the day, it will cost what it costs....people posting thier marketing credentials or opinions of what they hope it costs are not going to change anything. I can give all sorts of reasons gas should cost less than $2 per gallon but when I go to the gas station its still $3. What I DO wish for is........a patch for Black Shark and FC2 to give them the same type of plug & play functionality with it as the A10. Or at least, a professionally made profile by ED/TM staff to let us get the most out of the stick without having to spend hours and hours making and tweaking and testing profiles....that would certainly be nice. So change the line MaxFPS = 0 to MaxFPS = 90? Or 90 fps? or does it need the "" marks...ie "90 fps"?

Same here...intermittant crashes in the A-10 when using the D key to cycle weapons....I don't feel having to run in windowed mode is a viable solution to this problem, the frame rates seem much slower in windowed mode.

I get frequent crashes when using the D key to cycle weapons in A-G mode, so far just in the A-10 in Instant Action as thats all the further I have gotten. Would like to sort that problem out before I delve deeper into the sim! When it happens, I get a little Widows error box saying there is a problem with the application, when I click out of that box the sim ends up at the debriefing screen but with no mission results listed, just a blank screen....its like the mission never happened! :( MD

I am having the following problem: In instant action, in the A-10, quite frequently when in A-G mode and using the "D" key to cycle weapons, I get a windows error which brings the game to a halt, and brings up the stupid "Windows is checking for a solution" box...then I end up in the debriefing window with none of the mission results recorded. Happens quite often. BTW I run LOMAC and Black Shark with no problems. Any ideas?

FC2 downloaded and installed with no issues for me, without having to insert the LOMAC disk or point it to the directory.....not sure why the problem for Peter....maybe LOMAC is not installed in the default directory?
