Burne quick side question: may I ask what temps you are running on your 4820k? I have a 4790k and run it at 4.4 wit a Corsair H100i and it frequently spikes over 80C, reaching even momentarily up to 99C occasionally (yeap, very bad temps)... Thnx

Sounds Interesting. Can you give a step-by-step description on how to do that? I have the same issue, single- and multi-player. After Take-off as the aircraft accelerates continues down trim is required until I reach maximum down trim around 290-300 knots. Then I run out of usable down trim. :(

Ha, me too, but I also got me, about a decade ago, the FSSB mod for my Cougar... Gonna need to dust it off though

Alpi.. quick question, and I’m not suspecting your answer will be this isn’t what is supposed to happen... I had a MiG guy stalk me around last week on Crying Mountains and was actually one of the more “famous” streamers who followed me around. Endgame was, after a few turns and pop shots, I escaped, but he ran out of gas and landed somewhere in the middle of nowhere... while I myself, after aborting my operation, landed back at base with my jet intact. Of course this “subject” boarded another MiG and continued instead of becoming a “POW” or beginning his long walk home... I am pretty sure this is not the intent as realistically no one would fight until out of gas (even Col. Toon against Driscoll/Cunningham was apparently forced out of the fight due to lack of fuel). But after watching a few of his feeds on YouTube it seems to be a regular thing with this guy... Anyway you could instill a system that would rectify this? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I wouldn’t be surprised if Alpen in the long run would give into a mission or two with the F-14 flying around... with very limited armament, I’d assume... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think that depends on the time you get on; around 7PM Eastern on Friday and the weekends you usually get somewhere from 20 to 30 flights with human AWACS on the server... Now, since the server turns every 6 hours it’s not easy to coordinate a strike package, most times you get on with only a few hours left, but it is possible. When I get in with a friend or two we usually meet up in TeamSpeak and use web whiteboard to brief and plan, it makes things easier to visualize... then hop on the server and make the red side regret they were ever born... (not really, we usually get our Arses kicked... no plan survives first contact!) [emoji1787] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well, during the Cold War or in Nam there were fairly few areas to fly low level, skimming the mountains for hours, while waiting for prey to show up and overfly ya, because it was just too dangerous (unless you were a Sandy Rescue Prop); you would be inside the AAA envelope most of the time. As such most fighter packages would fly in the 15’s to 25 thousand feet, in order to safe fuel and be less vulnerable, which is the motive the SAM was invented in the first place...if you watch some of the YouTube shots from your server, the “Ace Pilots” always seem to find their unexpecting prey by skimming the terrain, which I guess is ok, but reality is that they would not be able to the Cold War days. And as they fly around until they burn through their fuel (low level flying is a lot less efficient) they just land on a dirt road and restart in another plane... I’m not sure if that is the idea you had in mind... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Cold War 1947 - 1991 Hey Alpen; may I suggest the increase of the AA Units in all maps...? I keep seeing the low level stalkers running out of fuel since not bringing back your Jet is not being punished... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Isn’t that the idea of the fog of war...? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks Alpi for clarifying... Its funny you mention “eyes to rely on”; I’ve read, been told and have plenty of experience with “seeing” in DCS, especially with 2k and (worse) 4k monitors. Most fighters of that time did NOT tactically crawl around the mud waiting for prey to trolly by hoping to see them first and not get spotted, and that is how most of the kills are made... and yes, I’ve seen vidas and replays of plenty of guys squatting at low level and running out of fuel instead of returning to Base in time... but thats an argument for another post! But hey, its your BBQ, and it smells great! Thanks again for all your efforts, time and making a great game awesome and fun! PS to Brigg: the F-14 WAS a Vietnam War Era front line fighter and was deployed during the evacuation of Saigon in 1975... so adding the Kitty for a mission or two would not hurt if we got the Fulcrum and 27 on the other side, too?

Guys; without meaning offense, you have to admit that the Steam DCS Pilots DO have a case; I myself invested over US$200 in modules and add-ons as my International Credit Card was not good enough at Eagle Dynamics itself two years ago but had zero problems with my Steam account. I quote myself that “I am pretty much married to Steam DCS World and a divorce will be very expensive”, so it’s not really fair to say: “you want your discount, should have gone stand-alone”, because, simply speaking, it was promised to us, and it’s not about early release or not or even the US$20. I would have LOVED to pre-purchase the F-18 or any other module for that fact because I sincerely want to support the efforts of ED to make things bigger, better and more amazing, but I was never given a chance because I am stuck in Steam. Wags, I’m a big fan of your videos and as an old-dog BMS Pilot, it was pretty much YOU who convinced me that paying for a good, developed module is the right thing to do because my hobby supports the jobs and therefore the families of developers who dedicate their life- time to bring us great memories and a lot of fun experiences. And DCS has grown, a lot, which is great for everyone. It has grown into a very reputable business model which I hope others are to follow. But are you sure THIS was a fair decision to us Steam Pilots? Would it not have been better to just give us the week of discount, perhaps miss out on a few $$$’s but understand that reputation and confidence is an important part of successful marketing strategies which in retro is $$$ in the long run? Yes, I for my part am very disappointed, and the damage to Eagle Dynamics and it’s associates is done, because for many this showed that “miscommunication” is not a reason to keep your word and promise.. I for myself think the F-18 Module is far from being bug-free; from what I read and see, there is still a LOT of work to be done, so no, I do not believe the module is ripe and is worth US$80, yet. I am sure it will be after it’s first update! Then I’ll think about purchasing it, full-price. To finish the subject on some commentaries of “leave Steam”: understand the “just leave” is not possible because our purchases on Steam only work ON Steam and vice versa. So, to Eagle Dynamics: I highly recommend to re-think your decisión making paradime about not following up on the miscomunicated promise to offer a release discount on Steam, because going back the way you did will make a few of us wonder what other promises you will NOT fulfill. Most sincere regards Picnic PS: keep up the good work!

Don’t get me wrong because I’m all for it, but... Red/Green/Purple Flag Exercises depend on a LOT of Ground and Air Support when it comes to the ACMI Evaluation; we’ll need those “referees” stations, too! I’d be happy to take up the Exercise Evaluator once in a while... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I also agree; the purpose of Combined Arms was to coordinate and experience a war from the ground; well, this option will introduce the possibility of a chain of command... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
