Control bindings related to ATGM sight work sometimes but not others. Examples: Mapped zoom to button on HOTAS throttle. It will work when I first play a mission but if I exit and come back in it will not work. These next two might not be bugs but just me: 1. I want to adjust the sensitivity of my sight axis. It works using my joystick when I'm in the sight but doesn't appear to be mapped in the axis controls so I can't tune it. 2. I'd like to be able to fire shturm using the mouse buttons but I cannot map these. Thanks

I've just tried mission 7 three more times and each time it doesn't progress beyond the factory. Two of those attempts resulted in the infantry and humvee advancing a portion of the way to the factory then not moving any more. I've got it in 10x time acceleration right now just to see if I come back in 15 minutes whether they'll have eventually moved on.
-
Thanks for looking into that. Maybe the mission 7 issue was just a one off glitch, the humvee couldn't see the last remaining terrorist around one of the silos.

Hi Petritis, It's intermittent but most noticeable in the mission where you have to find the refugees at night (sorry I can't remember the mission number). It was also obvious for the mission where your FOB is attacked. My gunners would not engage infantry on the FOB perimeter but would engage the mortars. Thanks In addition, Im on the mission 7 now and have been orbiting the factory for 20 mins, the humvee has advanced and killed most of the enemy but will not advance further so it looks like I'm stuck. Tried to kill the enemy myself but guns won't fire even with master arm on and crew member 2 being told to hold fire.

Can't get my door gunners to engage, doesn't matter what I tell them to do. Is this a bug?
-
Thanks for that, where do I find the "external emport point' option?

Hi All, What happened to the 7th Air Cavalry skin that used to come with the UH-1? It looks like the closest thing available now is that shark toothed army one and the plain olive drab.
-
As per title. Can't move after engine start. Park brake is off. Sometimes I can move but then the wheel brakes get stuck on. I can see it's the wheelbrakes because the pedals are fully depressed and when I push the mapped key/button nothing happens.

Thanks, I'll have another look, does the RADAR need to be operating in BEAM mode to get the range information, launch and break cues because so far that's the only way I've been able to do it. I've probably missed a step.

Hey, I've done the tutorial and watched a number of videos on youtube but for whatever reason the glass below the ASP is not displaying any range information or giving me launch/break cues. I've selected everything as per the tutorial. Is this a bug?

Hey All, When I first bought the Huey it was possible to switch between aim down sight or free look while using the mouse both with door gunners and co-pilot sight. I don't like using Trackir to aim the door gun but I don't know how to look down the sights of the co-pilot sight or door guns after turning trackir off. I've seen there are mouse controls such as hold mouse button 2 but they don't seem to do anything. Any tips?

You guys are awesome. Thanks very much for this, I only play single player and now I get to use modules which have no campaigns. Any luck on the wingman options for single players? Specifically, allowing them to rearm and refuel without restarting the mission? Also, I've opened the mission in the editor and set all the ships to ROE weapons free but they still don't shoot at me. How do I get ships to defend themselves against me? My wingmen will not attack the ships. I've tried setting them to anti ship mission in the mission editor and I've tried telling them to "attack ground targets", "attack my enemy", "engage objective and rejoin", they don't do anything. How do I get them to attack enemy ships?

I bought it, I really like it, particularly when you start scoring reliable and accurate hits using the bombing tables. It's just the lack of content yet again that bugs me. I use the quick mission builder and then edit the mission to try give it a 1970s feel but it's not that great.

[CORRECT AS IS]Engine starts with mags off
Shibbyland replied to Badders46's topic in Bugs and Problems
I never knew that about the Spitfire (or other warbirds for that matter). I love the level of detail that goes into the aircraft in DCS. I have the P-47 for another WW2 sim but it's really badly done. I'd like to purchase P-47 for DCS but I don't play multiplayer and there's pretty much no missions and absolutely no campaign. I got a bit slow on finals earlier, started to sink, gave a big burst of power but it was too late and resulted in a 6g landing. Somehow the landing gear survived but I broke the engines main bearing. New damage model is awesome. -
[CORRECT AS IS]Engine starts with mags off
Shibbyland replied to Badders46's topic in Bugs and Problems
Did the OP say the engine remains running in flight once Mags are selected off? Is this both mags selected to off as that doesn't make sense to me. The magnetos are there to provide electrical power to the ignition system independent of the battery, to my knowledge, they must be operating for the engine to run. In addition to grafspee's post above about magnetos providing spark at low RPM. I don't know about the P-47s ignition system, but many piston engine aircraft have an impulse coupling on one of the magnetos, it is independent of the battery. This provides a larger and delayed spark during engine start to overcome the issue of low RPM. I am curious to know how the engine is started without the magnetos selected to both. As I understand, a piston aircraft can be started without the battery (such as through prop swinging) but it can't be started without the magnetos. -
My apologies, I scrolled right past it...3 times, how embarrassing.

All good points but basic handling, map reading and ground based navigation aids are something I've had a reasonable amount of experience in. I absolutely agree with you regarding the satisfaction of starting a mission cold on the ground and working your way through various environmental and navigation challenges to achieve an objective. Therein lies the issue with modules like the MiG-15 and F-5e, they don't come with a lot of content when purchased and because they're somewhat fringe aircraft, there's limited user downloads available. I'm just not good enough with the mission editor yet. As others have said, that's probably holding me back with this game. I just find it takes me hours and hours to make really bland missions. I I do enjoy dogfighting in the F-5e though and it's a neat wee aircraft to zoom through valleys in.
-
It looks like the MiG 21 RADAR fix didn't make it into this update. So annoying, that issue has been around for yonks I've just given up on the aircraft because I had enough of running old drivers for my GPU just to get around it.
-
I don't use VR but I still don't like the reflections. Not that there's really anything to use the MiG 15 for in single player anyway.
-
Haha yea I have had several goes at making missions. I made one for the MiG 15 which was pretty basic but had a few triggers in it and a bit of a back story. Took me hours. I am reliant on others for quality missions.

Only 25gb? Mine is 60gb and my hard drive is rapidly reaching a point where it won't be able to perform at optimum.

I often see this aircraft touted as the best aircraft to buy if you're just getting started in full fidelity DCS modules. Having finally tried it out under the free to fly period, I have to agree. It's so simple but still does enough to try out various mission types. But what if you're reasonably experienced in full fidelity aircraft, what is the big draw of the F-5e over all the other modules? I like it a lot and I'm tossing up between the P-47 and F-5e. Unfortunately I made the mistake of adding up how much I've spent on DCS over the years and it's actually a bit shameful haha. I've bought a number of aircraft I wish I hadn't because no matter how cool they are, there just isn't any content for them other than a few instant actions and basic missions (the MiG 15 in particular). I always find myself back in the f/a-18 or A-10 and thats purely because of the single player content available. I've heard a bit about the liberation dynamic campaign but am a bit wary of Github as you never quite know for sure what the risk is of downloading and executing.
-
Is the liberation campaign a safe download tho? It looks fantastic and I’d like to give it a try but Im a bit wary of GitHub. I’ve heard There can be some pretty nasty stuff tucked away in legitimate code but I don’t know enough about it.
-
Oh I haven’t heard of the liberation campaign. Is it in the user files downloads?

What's wrong with the Jug, why so little interest ?
Shibbyland replied to Hueyman's topic in DCS: P-47 Thunderbolt
I've got a lot of interest in this aircraft but my reason for not purchasing is less about the aircraft and more about everything else. I' m tossing up on whether to buy the P-47 or the F-5E at the moment. I'd probably prefer the P-47 but after having bought most of the other modules I just find with most of them I get the aircraft then have no use for it due to lack of single player content. Multiplayer is of little interest to me. I enjoy really good campaigns and there's a few out there (looking at you Reflected) but then comes the other thing with the WW2 aircraft. You need to buy the associated map and assets and I suspect the focus will go on the channel map for this aircraft, or a combination of channel and normandy and I have no intention of buying the Channel Map, therefore will probably not bother with the P-47. In saying that, I had a go with the P-47 earlier on with this free to try thing we've got going on and really liked the aircraft. It seems to me it's probably the best WW2 aircraft in DCS and is way ahead of the P-47 on offer in a certain competitor sim. Unfortunately there's only so much free flying I can do and making decent missions myself takes time I don't have.
