Had Dcs been more realistic, I'd already have been washed out
A10Yoda replied to Delta-canard's topic in DCS: L-39 Albatros
This is great advice and you additionally need to keep her slippery. The L-39 is very rudder dependent to keep the nose clean. Unlike other designs the t shape of the L-39 gives some ugly drag and flight characteristics if the nose doesn't lead the maneuver. Imagine the aircraft being pulled by an imaginary string that was attached to the nose of the aircraft. -
Sportier engine with faster run up and slightly more thrust. With Ukraine in the current mix it would be nice to have a sportier update to the L-39. Package it with some desync fixes and the extra variant, I would gladly pay for a L-39 2 update.. I promise you more people would purchase and flock to the L-39 if she had a sportier version.
-
Now that we have received multi-threading which has improved some performance is there a way to improve some of the desync issues in the L-39? Some switches on the ZO armament panel desync and becomes an issue when you are instructing and can't look over your student's shoulder and verify.

F4 legend Pilot walking away from the A10..
-
We need more start carts, weapon loaders, ladders, compressors, golf carts, etc.. Also, more dust covers and pinned aircraft for parked aircraft models..
-
/facepalm Which brings us all the way back full circle..

A particular A10 pilot helping with the A10C II wanted the switches in a standard configuration you would see as a PILOT climbing into the aircraft. So the type II Charlie is left in that configuration. It is also perfectly normal to double check the aircraft works as a pilot. Crew Chief are prideful, but if they have an issue with me double checking my left and right generators, etc.. Well..that would be discussed.... They are not the one paying the consequences for their lapse. You can always system check the pumps and fuel draw..

One would argue the atomic plume looked like cauli-'flower'..

Usually when the radio menu does not come up it is most certainly due to Viacom issues.

A10C2 Touble Finding Target - TGP WHOT/BHOT
A10Yoda replied to INSTIG8R's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
As much as I agree with dporter's assessment, there are ways to train around it. Sometimes it is DCS things that happen that you just have to chaulk up to **it happening once and a while. That said, even in real life instances do you have a smart enemy trying to be visible and is trying to mask their position. Good luck to you.. -
I knew they were YMWV.. I never saw one on an A10 and was told you had to be trained on them so I assume they were not 1 for 1 or at least on pilots end. Not sure how they where on maintenance side.

A10C2 Touble Finding Target - TGP WHOT/BHOT
A10Yoda replied to INSTIG8R's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
It just takes practice. There is a lot to unpack here in this as it could be a factor of a few things. That said, if you are looking for some training in this you can always get some one on one time with us over at: https://www.jointtaskforceheavy.org/ Issues can be anywhere from HOTAS issues, coordinate entry, LSS, bugged mission, computer settings, etc.. If you are getting coordinates from JTAC depending on your distance, the target should be in picture of the tgp. Being active with the TGP and scanning while changing from WHOT to BHOT helps with identifying shapes quicker and easier of threats. -
The file is called mission inside the .miz file. It has the radio tables in there, but it lays it out similar to the mission editor. The modulation is 0 for VHF 1 for FM and has frequencies for 25 channels. I tried adding a 'name' command in and followed the format of the above trying to give names but the file won't load when in dcs.

They are similar but they are not 1 for 1. My point is they are still relatively new in the history of the A10. You are correct about inventory but they were extremely rare to see on an A10 until about 2018ish. My point was trying to get focused attention from developers toward quality of life improvements that is much more needed.

I doubt it.. The sniper pod is a relatively new addition to the A10 and not sure it is a significant upgrade. There are other pieces of equipment still missing from the A10 that is more practical like the Long Raytheon pod..
-
Well.. I know we discussed Pre-flight ready-ness including cartridges. Didn't know if that was still the can down the road or if it was close.. I am glad to hear that's still the direction we are going..

Yes and no.. DCS does not have squaking implemented on specific Transponder codes. That said, an AI dumbed down version does exist. In the IFFCC menu under 'Display Modes' there is a sub-menu for IFF. Change Mode 1 or 4 from N to Y for yes. When AI IFF's you, you will get an alert that you can clear via ENT key on the UFC.

The point being the ME is supposed to act like the DTC software. Since you can load the 210 program over the DTS to the DTC, it would be fantastic to pre-program. I know it's tedious but it shouldn't take a lot of man-power to do.

Please add the ability to add channel name field to mission editor so we don't have to edit 20+ channels everytime we climb in. We love you..

not planned or realistic Sound notification when creating Mark Points
A10Yoda replied to ZenMaster_P's topic in Wishlist
When I would accidentally thumb TMS right and create a markpoint I often heard a sound. Does it matter if it was myself shouting, "fu@#" -
The purpose of the lights is for communication. If Tower sees two A10's taxing and cannot make out Board numbers, etc.. Tower can request flashing lights to identify a particular aircraft visually. That said, Flash is commonly, or was, used for startup of the aircraft and steady lights when the aircraft is ready to taxi. Anti-Collision lights are used when taxing anywhere were there high-visibility is needed for maintainers and other logistical equipment to avoid taxing aircraft. Each airfield has standard operating procedure to follow. I hope that helps some..
