You might try setting a snap view looking down at the throttle panel at an angle if you are having trouble seeing knobs and switches near the throttle. If you don't know how, I recommend searching the forums for help. I've never had cause to do this and won't be of much help without searching for a how-to as well. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Well, I guess that confirms it then.

Is HPD the Harpoon?

Look through the comments. It was a reply to a question by Wags. It wasn't in the video.

It's possible that video was made for a product upgrade or released because someone at Raytheon decided "they needed a social media presence" in 2012. I wouldn't assume it wasn't available until 2012 just because that's the date it was posted on youtube. According to a public release DTIC report, the ATFLIR pod program started circa 1998.

What about the TACAN page, pre-set channel list, etc.? Those pages don't seem like they should be unique to the F-14 code.

You can download some missions from the use files. "Through the Inferno" and "Free Flight" are decent for just practicing with. You will have to use the rearm and refuel menu to select your load out, but it will save you the trouble of creating your own. Backslash will pull up the comms menu when you are in the ground. Lalt+' is the short cut. You could also try the cold and dark mission just to load up some stores and mess around. Multiplayer through the Inferno and the fraternity server are pretty good for beginners as well, but it's understandable if you want to hold off for a while. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Lucky for us we get a brand new jet every time we login!

If radio calls are ignored, check the tanker and air craft frequency and that you are using the correct radio. That's all been pretty reliable. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

If you see the baskets trailing and haven't made your ready pre-contact call, then you can't assume they are actually extended. I've noticed that in missions I've made for the same purpose, the KC-135MPRS, especially, seems to have the baskets extended visually, but the simulation part of DCS doesn't appear to know they are extended. Of course, I've found a definite pattern yet either. If you get into the pre-contact position and make the ready pre-contact call whether you see the baskets or not, it should work. As a side note, on the last 2.5.4 patch, the 135MPRS basket was very very difficult to connect with in the Tomcat. The KC-130 basket seems like it more sane (at least for now).

You need to be in range and within line of sight to the TACAN station as well. Otherwise, you have probably missed a step or something about the mission is bugged.

Try running a DCS repair. It doesn't seem like an SRS issue. If that doesn't work, getting on the SRS discord channel. Asking for help there will get you the help you faster than the forums. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Description: When spawning in at a time later than mission start time, the F-14 clock shows mission start time instead of current time. Work around: Manually set clock as close you can to current mission time. Can't tell if this intentional or not, and it's probably not a big deal to most players, including myself. It's just a minor nuisance when knowing the current mission time matters.

Update: I figured out that VAICOM PRO wasn't actually auto-updating for me. All the log messages I indicated it was, but it didn't. After I manually updated to 2.5.10 it started behaving as expected again. Haven't tested AIRIO since but hopefully it's fixed too. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

The PAL diamond doesn't always appear for me. VSL low does show reliably. I don't think the high vertical scan should show because it's high above the nose. However, I'm not certain. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

You an control the radar with PLM and ACM controls. RIO controls everything else. The PTID is exactly that, a repeater. You see what the RIO sees. A Commodore 64 had more power than the CPU in the AWG-9. The compromises made were deliberate. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Way past this step. Forgot to add in addition to the "Take 10" command issue: RIO is enabled. Menu is NOT disabled. I forgot to post that the RIO commands are not being sent to DCS. "Loud & Clear" never triggers, but is recognized.

I'm still having trouble after the most recent updates. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Post AIRIO updates, "Take 10" and some other commands don't work for me. VA is recognizing them, but nothing happens. "Take [1-9]" seems to work, but 10, 11, 12, especially 10, aren't doing anything. Other commands, I use commonly work fine. "Request Rearm", "Ground power on", etc. I have done a LUA reset.

Just using NAV seems to work. IFA seems liked it is bugged. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

AFAIK, the OK is flag you pay attention to. It means alignment is "good". I haven't tried just switching to NAV recently. Whatever ED has done to the alignment process recently is not entirely obvious. Set a waypoint on a TACAN and compare the TACAN azimuth and range to the waypoint azimuth and range. They should be the same. Look at the map, they may both be in the wrong position on the map. The results vary with ground or carrier start I'm told, but haven't checked it out fully. Its difficult to determine if the problem is the alignment, the map registration, or both. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Wags answered my question in the JDAM video today. There will be an option in the future to enter hundredths of seconds. That will do the job. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

The hornet is limited to about 20 to 30 meters of targeting accuracy because the smallest coordinate unit it can enter is 1 arc second. JDAMS and JSOW, civilian GPS would still miss very precisely if limited to the common GPS accuracy of 10m. Other than using waypoints in TOO mode, is there going to be a way to enter more precise targeting for pre-breifed mode?

Running request - Bindable Button / Axis options
WOPR replied to maverickturner's topic in Bugs and Problems
+1 DLC axis (real or not). X-56 stick thumb stick should work well for that. +1 on JR menu location. Prefer option 1. I think it does this already for TrackIR. Regardless, TrackIR is easier to manage the wheel with. I have tried both TrackIR and VR. Add LIQ COOLANT switch bindings for the RIO pit for completeness.
