Counter measure programs can only be changed in the air or you make your own mod. There are 1 or 2 default change lua files available if you search. Recommend the YouTube videos referenced above for counter measures. Counter measures can.be dispensed in 4 different modes, manual, semi-auto, auto, and bypass. You'll have an epiphany about them once you get an understanding of the system setup. BIT isn't completely implemented yet. It's safe to ignore everything except FCS reset and the basic controls check. Carrier is ATC is very poor at the moment. The biggest problems are when you need deck lights (at least for me). Otherwise, you might try the LSO script for a more immersive experience. RWS, ACM, STT, and SIL are the only available radar modes available, currently. LTWS is hopefully not too far off. It seems like you read the manual. Keep it up! Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

You have to hold the cage/uncage button until you get a lock when using the JHMCS. Are you holding the button? The problem of not slaving to the radar lock is puzzling. If you have Tacview, have you checked to see if there is some counter measure activity that you can see? Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

I have the impression that a JTAC will be able to transmit MGRS but we won't be able to enter MGRS, but based on the MIDS pages that have been shown so far (a.k.a. an assumption, not fact). It seems like for manual entry of precise coordinates we need to be able to enter a position in DMS (no decimals) and then an offset with a direction and distance (which didn't work the last time I tried it), also useful for navigating from bulls. Other online coordinate conversion: http://www.earthpoint.us/Convert.aspx The legallandconverter.com one seems a bit nicer. NGA software: http://earth-info.nga.mil/GandG/update/index.php Includes and Android APK on the page. Haven't experimented with this but it seems to have enough features for "free." Maybe too many.

Trying jettisoning them. I just did and they fired. Unfortunately I wasn't aimed at a SAM so I can't tell you anything more.
-
I can't seem to launch them though. This is like getting a candy cane made of coal in your stocking.

The AGM-65Es are laser guided. You need an AI JTAC or a buddy with a laser pod to use them effectively. The AGM-65F's are IR and can be used independently with the video display on the Hornet DDIs. I think this is what you mean by "TV mode." Wags posted some demo videos and a few other prominent DCS youtubers have as well. The best thing to do to get started is watch them (Wags's videos are succinct) and then try the demo missions.

NOW AVAILABLE: Community A-4E-C Mod
WOPR replied to Merker's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Is anyone else getting kicked off some public servers that enforce "pure client" when the A-4E mod is installed and enabled? -
You should ask this question in the Vaicom Pro thread in case your question is missed. The author will likely answer you directly and will work with you to try and solve any setup issues if that's the cause. *edited to make sense after realizing the thread was moved*

I'm not certain, but I think I've seen it in the latest beta chasing an AI MIG-29 that was popping chaff. I didn't realize at the time that it was popping chaff so that's why I'm not certain. I only found out later looking at the Tacview file. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Was your target dropping chaff? If it was, that could cause similar behavior in the gun reticule.

I've been having problems with this too. I'm a mission editor beginner and I don't know if this will help you or not. Hopefully it will. I just tried not changing the default coalition presets on the PG map for a mission instead of choosing "modern" and then customizing the sides a little and I'm able to place Iranian units on water now. I'm assuming I'll be able to place Iranian land units. Good luck.

I just flat out couldn't get it to lock on a close by radar. I no tone with the volume set to full.

[REPORTED] APU light illuminates the cockpit before it's on
WOPR replied to backspace340's topic in Bugs and Problems
Instrument panel dimmer and flood light dimmer seem like they affect the intensity of the "APU" light. -
I also run TACVIEW & SRS. DCS Log has bunch of errors about nose art and custom cockpits, mostly for modules I don't own. PM incoming.

No joy.

After upgrading to 2.5.5, my comms menus are triggering periodically without input from me. Shutting down Voice Attack causes the issue to stop and I didn't have this issue prior to upgrading. I have PTT set correctly as far as I can tell. I have reset LUA and settings. I have searched the forums unsuccessfully for a similar issue. What am I doing wrong with VA/VIACOM? Thanks in advance.

Make sure you have your weapon set for auto mode too. Otherwise you won't see the ball and chain. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

There is a "Scale GUI" check box on the system settings screen that might help.

Can't detune sounds. I'll try turning down the cockpit sound though, I may still have trouble hearing radio calls. ;). Seriously, I will give a try. BTW actual warning sounds is a huge step up from nothing. The effort is appreciated. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Volume on the RWR is either on or off, no in between. The impact is that it is hard to radio calls clearly over the RWR sounds (i.e. on a multiplayer server). Please fix quickly.

What new feature of the Hornet are you most looking forward to?

My top 3 are HARM TWS A-G radar -
I'm adding 2 cents a little late, but hopefully this helps OP a bit. ABS in a car is better than pumping your breaks to prevent skidding in a hard stop or on a slick surface because without it your wheels stop moving but you don't. Before ABS was common, you had to pump your brakes to be able to steer through adverse circumstances. Constant brake pressure on dry pavement, that doesn't lock your wheels, tends to work better in a normal stop. For your test case, check to see if your wheels are locked up. Whether they are or aren't, it could be your wheels brake controller sensitivity isn't high enough to locked them up, or it could just be a sim improvement to potentially be addressed in a future update. We aren't going know unless ED decides to tell us. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Can confirm. Some some seconds go in as ##-1 others just go in as ##. You can't just add 1 to the seconds you enter and expect 1 to be subtracted from the value. The behavior is not consistent.

Patch date: 2017-07-06, bump. Happened to me today on Hoggit's Caucus at War. Sidearms locked and ready, but guns fired when the trigger squeezed. Pre-loaded with Stand-off 3. Resetting weapon selection to sidearms did not fix the problem.

The DMT shows color smoke on marked targets in DCS 2.5.2.19157 Update 6. I thought I captured a screenshot of the problem, but a shot of the DMT search that happened just prior to seeing blue smoke on the DMT was saved instead, which could be another bug.
