  1. How do I get the AI (or myself) to take off from the longer runway on the carrier?
  2. Both are incredibly cool, maneuverable, and capable aircraft that can counter the F-15C (and eventually F-14A) effectively.
  3. As the title says. The Su-30MK2 is used by several air forces around the world, and is a capable combat aircraft.
  4. I'm afraid that installing FC3 will remove icons, wallpapers, and themes of individual aircraft. You still have them, though. You can see in the module manager. I wish the themes and stuff stayed, I really do, but it's just the way it is.
  5. Yes, it would definitely be nice to have a skin change button.
  6. We definitely need an updated encyclopedia.
  7. You know you're dead when this happens!:megalol:
  8. What exactly does a spectator/observer do, and how do they do it?
  9. Like, how to set it up to make it work? This should probably be in Combined Arms or some other place, but I'll try to explain. One easy way is to simply place the template for it in the mission editor (it's under Russia). I'll still tell you how to set it up though. You need 1 CP 54K6, 1 TR 30N6, 1 SR 5N66M, 1 SR 64H6E, and as many LN 5P85C/Ds as you want. All units must be in the same group.
  10. Yup.
  11. Well, DanielNL, I've never played on anything newer than that (except for the Sega Genesis) until I started DCS.
  12. My dad got an old SNES when he was young, and I got the game used.
  13. Well, I'm an early teen (won't be exact). My first flight SIM (also my only other sim) was Microprose's Super Strike Eagle. Not exactly a SIM, but a fun game for the SNES (Super Nintendo).
  14. I too would absolutely love an advanced Russian fighter like the MiG-29K, Su-30SM, and Su-35S, but unfortunately even the moderately old Su-24M is off-limits. However, the MiG-29S and J-11A (Chinese improvement on Su-27SK) can use the R-77, which just recently got updated. Also, even the Su-27 (Su-27S) can defeat F-15/16/18C with AIM-120s, it's just hard.
  15. Buk-M2E...Ah yes, the SA-17 "Grizzly", whose launch vehicle looks sort of like the SA-8. I wasn't really thinking medium-range SAMs, but I should have been, and this would also be a great addition. Cik-1-The one I'm really thinking of (S-300PMU-1) isn't able to fire at targets THAT far away. 2-I guess it wouldn't be all that useful to have them, but I think it'd be cool. Plus, if aircraft like the Su-30SM, Su-35S, F/A-18E, and Eurofighter got added (presumably just for AI), they'd be realistic.
  16. First, it's more like 100-150km, depending on the unit. Second, it may be the best-case scenario, but I don't think it's possible in DCS to have that kind of range.
  17. I've noticed things like that when flying FC3 campaigns.
  18. Good information, Alfa. Dudikoff, I agree with you. I didn't think it through.
  19. You know, to make the S-300PMU-1 (SA-20A "Gargoyle") in DCS, all that would have to be done is the 48N6 missile would be used with a land-based system. In fact, ED wouldn't even have to make new external models for the S-300PMU-1's units. They could just have, in the "Ammo" tab of the S-300PS launchers, and an option to switch between the 5V55 and 48N6 missiles. Additionally, the 48N6 wouldn't need to be improved and have the ~150km range it has in the real world. It could still have the ~80-90km range it currently has. I think it's a good and feasible idea, anyhow.
  20. Okay, I've switched post #2 to say RL 5V55R=IG 5V55, rather than the real world version being the 5V55KD. I've just watched an old video of in-game SA-10s, and the missiles were called 5V55Rs, which must mean that at some point in the past the in-game 5V55 was called the 5V55R.
  21. Also, it would be nice if the firing range circles of, for instance, the SA-10 were reduced from ~120km to the ~50km the 5V55 missile can actually go. Obviously, I'd want this for all systems that have drastically different range circles and actual missile ranges.
  22. If you mean just downloading and installing the game, it's pretty easy. I'm not sure about equipment, I just use a lower-end laptop and a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick. I've been playing for almost a year now, but I've never used TrackIR. I don't even have a VR headset, in fact.
  23. I'm not sure why it seems inconsistent to you, but I suppose the 5V55R would make more sense than the 5V55KD, as real-world missiles seem to always be longer-ranged than their in-game counterparts.
  24. S-300 Missile Range Clarification So, the ranges (encyclopedia and actual) of the in-game missiles. E=encyclopedia, A=actual. 5V55-E=45km; A=50-60km. 48N6-E=90km; A=80-95km. Now, please understand that the "Actual" ranges I've posted are under the right conditions: the target is flying 8,500-9,000m above sea level, mostly straight towards the system firing the missiles, and also going 500-600km/h or faster. I hope these posts have helped. Happy flying!
  25. S-300 Missile Version Clarification Okay, as I promised, here goes. Again, RL=real-life, IG=in-game. Here are the real missiles: 5V55KD-Systems: S-300PS; range: 47km. 5V55R-Systems: S-300PS; range: 75-90km. 5V55RM-Systems: S-300F; range: 75-90km. 48N6-Systems: S-300PMU-1, S-300FM; range: 150km. Export: 48N6E. 48N6E2-Systems: S-400; range: 200km. As for the in game versions: 5V55-Systems: S-300PS (including naval versions); range: 45km. 48N6-Systems: S-300F (RL: S-300FM); range: 90km. 48H6E2-Systems: none; range: 90km. Mistranslation of 48N6E2, which isn't in the game. Now, the pair-up: RL 5V55R=IG 5V55. RL 48N6=IG 48N6. RL 48N6E2=IG 48H6E2 (not a real missile). Next post, ranges.
