This pilots are training exclusively for this, do it constantly, those are pre determined routines, in planes made for this so they can get away with it, only if very well trained, we loose some of this aerobatic pilots every year due to loss of control, incapacitation, airframe breakup etc. Have not seen any WWII training videos were a pilot train like this, in DCS we can do this in the game get away with it, and looks horrible.

Those are competition aerobatic planes, which are made for this. If we look at all the gun cam footage available from WWII I can assure you we wont see a single airplane doing this kind of violent maneuvers, other weights, other speeds, airframe and pilot limitations . This is why it looks very unrealistic and gives an arcade feel to see this in MP. To sum it up, IMHO this DCS warbirds are a digital work of art, with an arcade pilot modelled. Hope we get the pilot model this planes deserve.

Here is a video showing how arcade and ridiculous does it looks when someone tries to evade you using this tactics in MP. Positive Gs followed by negative Gs and nothing happens, even if done continuously, pilot never gets tired and can do this forever. All the fantastic FM fidelity wasted with the very simple DCS pilot modelling, which makes MP flying feel arcade. People say DCS AI cheats, the DCS pilot modeling's allows this kind of unrealistic maneuvering, sadly fighting AI looks and feels more realistic, than fighting humans in DCS Have anyone ever seen this kind of maneuvering in real WWII gun cam footage? Not even close.

Real pilot, flight sim enthusiast for 30 years, beta tester for some of them, real pilot, 3,000hrs fly often in the backcountry, and off airport, also a warbird in which I do aerobatics and dogfight simulations. DCS WWII planes are amazing, they feel realistic, the landings , the take offs, stalls, the feel of flight is there, wake turbulence is spot ON, damage model is very detailed , quite impressive really, some stuff might need a bit of tuning, but overall great. All of this amazing effort goes down the drain when playing in MP and the plane in front of you starts to jink up and down positive Gs , Negatives Gs and lots of impossible aerobatics like a super human, because he even does not get tired, and can perform this stunts forever, once this happens DCS WWII feels and looks very arcade, have you ever seen this kind of maneuvers in WWII gun cam footage? Not even close. If developers can fix this , DCS WWII would become an amazing simulator, the other sim got it quite good (only thing that it beats DCS IMHO). Its my only real complain, but it really ruins immersion, the rest of the sim its really amazing.

Totally clear is worse than scratched and dirty IMHO, a mix would be good. Default transparency is 1, I had it at 0.6 in the mod and it looked realistic, not too clear not too dirty.

I use VR I can get my head out of the canopy and see better than my opponent, so that is also a cheat then. MP are we making any money playing this game? to restrict the clarity of the glass? It is ridiculous, its the difference between cleaning the windshield before a flight or not, is not that dramatic. Canopy mod you could tune it to your liking, for a more realistic feel, in my case I had 0.6 some dull, not totally clear.

The canopy glass mod was really good, was not a cheat, does not makes sense to get rid of it if in VR you can get your head out of the cockpit anyway! What is realistic about going thru the canopy with your head? Cleat canopy glass improved FPS and made planes looks more realistic, please we need to get it back.

I tried that and not smooth at all AMD 7800X3D , 4090. With Motion smoothing not so good either. -
I dont think so , once you fly the warbirds in DCS, its very difficult to go back to IL2, I tried it and it felt so arcade, I just quit the game after a few minutes,IL2 its not more fun for me,not even close, with last updates it became very boring and arcade, and this is why so many left and moved to DCS. But for sure agreed the spotting got better with this mod, and should be addressed in DCS soon.

There some amazing campaigns by Reflected, but not dynamic. Highly recommend those, and in the new Normandy map they have been updated, so are like new campaigns. But I suppose you already know about those? We need dynamic campaigns for DCS, or convince Patrick Wilson to switch to DCS

Reprojection is very taxiing on the systems, I get the same with an AMD 7800X3D and a 4090, also MT version, DFR helps, have you tried it? -
Its a great server, hope we get more people joining.

A8 is old agreed, but totally worth the price, you get a digital accurate representation of this plane like no other game or sim has ever done it. We all want the version with more power, but still what we have is correctly modeled.. I think if we get an update , it would be very popular.

In general looks great, water jacket hit, but the white smoke trail sometimes looks a bit weird like the speed of the plane does not relate to how the smoke looks, looks like train puffs of white smoke, Here is an example of a Dora hit IRL, the hit looks very similar to what we have in DCS, but the rest of the smoke, the white trail comming of the cowling in DCS looks diferent, like if the plane was going a lot slower, puffs of smoke coming out.

The problem are not the planes, they are Historically matched up, problem are the maps, if we would have had a Germany map then all of this will be Historical (except Il16 and maybe if you want to be a purist adding boost to the 190A8). I am all about making it more realistic historically, a G6 is needed for Normandy and Channel map, which by the way are amazing.

Its with WWII fighter doing dogfights and have planes moving around in front of you , they get blutty. For sightseeing or ground attack works great. -
G6 for sure! Me 262 meeeh , lots more options before that one IMHO.
