  1. LOS...line of sight?
  2. Thank you for that info, especially on threat reversal! For me it's more intuitive to have the higher threat closer to the centre of the RWR with the least threat further away. So from outside in...non-lethal, lethal, critical?
  3. Please PM me I have a question. Thank you.
  4. After reading all this info from you guys I'm not sure what I know/don't know:doh: Using the Azimuth Indicator [RWR] my understanding now after reading these posts is threats in the same threat band do not pose the same threat level. I thought all planes in the outside band [where the tick marks are] always represented the same critical threat as did the planes in the lethal band. The non-lethal threat band I assumed were friendly and unknown planes. The only thing I think I'm sure of is the threat direction, this being determined by the planes location relative to the status circle in the centre of the Azimuth Indicator [RWR]. https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=220736&stc=1&d=1573165576
  5. To be more specific: When I press the 'Colors' button [or any font, or font size] in the above toolbar and choose any color I see what looks like HTML markup code. example: [color-"Blue"][/color] [color-"Purple"][/color] [color-"Red"][/color] Once I press 'Save' it shows the text as the actual selected color.
  6. I would really appreciate a breakdown of the entire symbology and zones of the RWR and what exactly lethal vs. critical implies. I've read both manuals and still am confused.
  7. Thanks for the clarification! "L&S target or boresight" isn't boresight where you are looking?
  8. "• A/A Mode, AIM-9. Controls sidewinder seeker position. AIM-9 seeker head is boresighted until L&S designation, then it is slaved to the L&S. Pressing the cage button with an L&S, toggles the seeker head between the L&S and boresight. Pressing and holding the cage button with the AIM-9 seeker head in boresight, then maneuvering the aircraft to point at a target heat source, achieving AIM-9 tone rise, then releasing the cage button will result in AIM-9 seeker head tracking the heat source to the gimbals of the missile." Interesting, I don't find I need to press and hold the cage button to keep the seeker head in boresight. Once I have a target heat source nose on I uncage. It will lock and continue to track.
  9. I will give a study on both RWR and HUD symbology and get back, thanks all.
  10. In your photo I see 2 dotted and 3 solid RWR lines [nails]. I believe these lines are just showing radar emitters not necessarily locking me up.
  11. Since starting to use MS Edge instead of Internet Explorer I've been experiencing a posting issue. When replying to a post and choosing to highlight some words the poster wrote, I no longer see the color change, instead I see the code written in. example: example test. COLOR="Red"]example test.[/color Once I click submit I will see the color change. Using IE browser the color change appeared while writing and editing the post. Why doesn't this happen with MS Edge? Thank you.
  12. Are you saying there is a distinct HAFU symbol representing the plane locking you up?
  13. If several planes are in a close area is there a way to know which is locking you up? Thank you.
  14. Go to DCS/axis mapping and remap the axis to j-stick.
  15. I've tried 0-40 curvature but the small inputs and anticipating is the key... Thanks!
  16. I don't have any problems with NWS either...for parking and taxing, I'll engage the HI steering when needed, when not needed I use standard low steering...all is good with steering. The issue I was referring to was at speeds over 80 kts it's hard to keep the plane from going like this down the runway~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~. If the NWS turns 1 degree to correct drift, this back and forth oscillation occurs~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~.
  17. Perhaps the issue is simply that the NWS on TO & landing is not modeled properly...it certainly works well enough to taxi & park.
  18. With F/A-18 NSW, when not enabled for use, is it locked or free swivel? I know the F-15 NSW can be locked.
  19. metashaders2 & fxo in user/saved games
  20. Then you have to go and actually try doing it. I find with another pilot working radar for example back and forth tells you a lot quick. By the way, would you know if it's possible to know which plane is locking you up when you see a group of planes?
  21. Thanks all for your input...appreciate it!
  22. Interesting since my last post I deleted the folders and found I lost the smoothness. What I noticed was in the original folders there were hundreds of files but in the newly built folders there were much less. I reversed what I did and all went back to being smooth again...go figure
  23. I did and am still doing constant reference to Chuck's and the stock manual. Once you get the knowledge then you have to work on warfare tactics, SA and so on... Remember the best/fastest way to learn is to fly and do trial and error testing with one other person.
  24. So I see it's a general situation for everyone... LOL...they're easy landings usually with case 1 and the take-off is a pleasure
  25. Got it thanks! I find the aircraft movement from left to right is too quick to be able to compensate using pedal braking. It's not an aircraft deal breaker but I really need to focus alot when rolling out. Disabling NWS above 50kts. really helps but I feel it's not proper procedure so I don't want to.
