  1. I'm actually using VAICOM Pro. But I'm using the same technique that I have ever since Jester and LANTIRN started working with eyeballs etc. Up until recently, the technique worked. I would be able to have Jester designate and drop on anything I wanted and if he couldn't (say like on a control tower), I'd be able to go in the RIO seat and do it for him, then jump back into the pilot seat and he'd leave it designated. Now with the new updates, as soon as I get back in the pilot seat, he drops the designation and goes looking elsewhere. Or he goes back to the first target designated that has already been destroyed. Or he does weird things like the TTI countdown and lasing even though the bomb didn't drop--all things he didn't used to do. So I can't tell officially if it's the updates, if it's VAICOM Pro not keeping up with the updates, myself, or something else. I'm still testing out what works and what doesn't but wanted to ask around here too to get more answers and explanation if any. v6, boNes
  2. I tell him to designate every time. In the worse of scenarios, I do eyeballs>designate>head control>designate But I notice then that the symbology and TTG doesn't appear. If I say track designation, he goes back to the already killed target I designated. v6, boNes Honestly, all I've been saying is for him to select stations 3,4,5,6 even if I'm carrying 2 Phoenixes and he drops without a problem. I think also that if I just tell him to select Paveways, he will turn the drum to the proper GBU but also select the proper stations. In the front seat I have seen the non-Phoenix stations go checker, and hopping in the back to micro manage him haha I see the right station switched are also flipped. v6, boNes
  3. Well, I dunno what else to say. All I know is that all the times BEFORE the patch when I failed to drop the bomb because of say master arm was off or I hit the wrong button or whatever, the TTI timer kept going and Jester didn't say squat and didn't lase. I've been dropping bombs with Jester for well over a year before the improvements even and he's never continued a countdown or lased when the bomb did not drop. Personally I think there was some glitch in the server or maybe I was below the staple (although I don't know that being below the staple would inhibit your drop) because it hasn't happened much since. But it was an occurance before. Now what I'm experiencing, even in SP, is that I will tell him to designate a target and he does, and after we kill it, if I designate another target via eyeball and head control, then tell him to track designation, he always go back to the 1st killed target. If I tell him reset LANTIRN and try again, he still goes to the first killed target. I have to jump in the back and designate the new target myself then jump back in front before he will track the new target. Now I will say that I am using VAICOM Pro with AIRIO and that may have something to do with it, but that's what I'm trying to figure out. Plus VAISOM doesn't explain him counting down without a dropped bomb when he didn't all those times before. v6, boNes
  4. I was in CMPTR Pilot mode. Just seems odd that he would still be lasing knowing no bomb came off, even if he's just reading off f the LANTIRN display. Almost seems as if the bomb did come off, but no one told DCS haha v6, boNes
  5. I can confirm that not only was I in A/G, but I had the weapon selector switch all the way to off and ORD in the HUD. v6, boNes
  6. Just did another on the server and I did everything the same way and this time the bomb dropped no problem. Server fluke? I dunno. v6, boNes
  7. I was flying a hop in our server with Jester as my RIO. WE had a target designated and locked in LANTIRN, and he talked me on, and when he told me to pickle, I did. But I never heard the thump and the ordnance remained hung. HOWEVER, the LANTIRN TTI countdown was still running AND Jester was still counting down TTI. At 10 seconds he even called 10 seconds and then said "Lasing." It was as if the sim thought I dropped the bomb and so did Jester, but we didn't. I tried 3 more passes on the same target and the same thing happened everytime. I troubleshot as much as I could considering I had bandits coming in and everything checked out: I was set to A/G I had the weapon select switch to off. "ORD" was in the HUD with a bomb fall line. I had Jester select stations 3,4,5,6 AND he correctly had GBU-10 selected Master arm was ON Wings set to bomb mode I pressed and held down the correct pickle button--in fact in a CCIP non Jester drop later, the bombs did drop when I pickled them. On the third pass I even made sure I was above the staple and still no dropped happened. Has anyone else experienced this or knows what could have gone wrong? Thankfully my wingman in his pitifully inferior F/A-18 (haha) finished off the target with a Maverick but I would have had it long before if it was working! v6, boNes
  8. I fly both the Tomcat and the Bug. IN the Tomcat, it's there, but I don't really notice it--I think I just got used to factoring it into my traps. Now the Hornet, I just tried today and I was on the ball and CL all the way and when I got to the ramp, boom, that burble dropped me right down on the deck, like an express elevator. It was so sudden, I didn't know what happened and then it dawned on me that there is a burble now. v6, boNes
  9. OK..checked in the Hornet. Wands come on only for essential personnel, namely the greenshirt when getting you hooked up on the shuttle and the flight director. Lights on does not trigger the deck crew launching you. You have to choose "salute." When you do salute, the wands come on for the remainder of the deck crew. v6, boNes
  10. I noticed that the deck crew doesn't turn their wands on until you request launch and get close enough for the flight director to catch you. BUt, they ALL do turn them on. v6, boNes Mine works. BUt it is when you hit the master light switch so they all come on at the same time. When you do they will get you launched, you don't have to even salute. Come to think of it that was the Tomcat, haven't tried the Hornet yet. Will get back to you... v6, boNes
  11. I guess that's why that call it a teaser trailer... v6, boNes
  12. I suddenly can't get certain views to work such as the camera view RCTRL F11 or switching between deck crew RCTRL F9. Anyone else having issues? v6, boNes
  13. Are these in Supercarrier yet? Saw it in the video. How do you conjure it up? v6, boNes
  14. Actually, I just checekd and I do have that one. Mine has a last revision of April 7, 2020. Is there a newer one? If not, then my question still stands because the diagram I was referring to was in that April 7, 2020 revision. v6, boNes
  15. That's exactly the reference I was referring to in my question for Case II/Case III departures. However I see that the one you listed is V1.8, I have 1.0. So maybe I need to find 1.8 v6, boNes
  16. I think it is an active object because there is a JTAC who will smoke the target. But even if it wasn't, I've dropped on things like control towers before that weren't even part of the mission by designating it in the back seat myself, then switching to the front seat to do the drop and he didn't switch targets away back then like he does now. v6, boNes
  17. I rarely get either EGIW or 3PTS, in both the Hornet and the Tomcat. I used to more often but found that just as I am about to touchdown, if I start moving my throttles forward slowly (which I should be anyway since you should go to at least MIL upon touchdown), I don't get the EGIW mark. If I keep the AOA donut on, I also do not get 3PTS. What I do notice on a different note is that if I get waveoffed, and I come around again, the next time the IFLOLS shows up, the waveoff lights are still flashing at the same time the ball is moving, even though I'm far out and the deck is clear. It's like it's leftover from the last pass. When I do land anyway, it COMBINES my current grade with the LAST waveoff grade and remarks, and this affects the final score. For example I could get say _SLO_x DRIMx WO (AFU) and then when I come back, let's say I drifted a little left but was otherwise on slope and catch a 3 wire, it will then say C _SLO_ x DRIM x WO(AFU) (DL)IM WIRE3...it combines both and turns an otherwise ((OK)3 into a cut pass. Or, literally a millisecond before touchdown the LSO will say waveoff as if I could possibly do that then and then I get a cut pass for "ignoring" his waveoff. But that only happens from time to time. <shrug> v6, boNes
  18. So is thus just a Jester thing? Since he can't lock up a building with LANTIRN (at least there is not function for him to look for one), I used to hop in the back seat and do the designation myself, then hop back in front and do the drop. But now when I do it Jester holds my designation right up until 3 seconds before drop then he wanders around looking for a new target. DInd't he used to just leave what you did alone in the backseat? He keeps spoiling my building strikes like that. v6, boNes
  19. Well my 2nd question was more about the altitude than the arc. The text says at 7 nm going into the 10 nm arc to be at 500 ft until you reach departure radial on the arc, then climb out. But the graphic diagram shows "climb and intercept" at 7nm, not to stay at 500 ft. SO which is it? Stay at 500 until reaching departure radial on the arc, or continue climbing after 7 nm to the 10 nm arc then depart on departure radial? v6, boNes
  20. The problem I've found with being high up is that if the target is down low, that is thousands of feet for the Phoenix to plunge down to and it slows it down and loses energy, making it easier to spoof. I've seen this happen way too many times if I launch say from angles 30 and the target is at say angels 15 or less, 50 nm out. If the bandit refuses to come up to close the altitude gap, I get in closer to say 20 miles and only 5000, maybe 10000 above him to fire. They almost always kill then. If he fires on me, my Phoenix usually is pitbull shortly thereafter and he drops the lock to defend or I crank away and evade. And yes, in both situations, I keep my speed fast, not just to give the Phoenix extra energy but also so that if I need to crank away or defend, I have the energy to do so and run if need be, v6, boNes
  21. -Wasn't there a keystroke that cycles the view between each deck person, not just each catapult? -Also, in Case II departure, I understand from the manual that we stay at 500 AGL up to 7 nm, then turn to intercept the 10 mi arc, then only when we hit the departure radial, start climbing out on the radial. But the manual shows in the figure on page 42 "climb and intercept 10 nm arc" at the 7 miles point. So which is it? Now this question has more to do with carrier ops in general not just the SC module, but I'll ask it here anyway: In the PDF "Aircraft Carrier Operating Procedures for DCS v01" they say that for Case II the 500 ft AGL restriction AND the arc is lifted at 7 nm if you are VMC or can pick your way through holes in the clouds. It says the same for Case III for just the arc (since you have to climb from the get go on Case III departure anyway). So my question is, if you are VMC, what is the point of a Case II or III departure then? Wouldn't you just be Case I anyway (except at night which is always Case III)? Thanks. v6, boNes
  22. On rare occasion--but it does happen--I get a last moment wave off call literally right when I am about to touch the deck. As in the IFLOFS is pretty much right at my 9:00, or I actually touch down a millisecond after his call. No way to bolter or waveoff then. This is in the F-14 and F/A-18. I just figure it's lag and disregard any cut pass he may give me and cuss him out haha v6, boNes
  23. Yup, works now,thanks. v6, boNes
  24. OK, thanks, I have the Steam version and with validation it had to download 5 files...hopefully that does it. v6, boNes
  25. Yes I have the latest version, and I've always used the keyboard 1 and 2 button to switch cockpit in single player. Is it the 1 & 2 key in MP or something else? v6, boNes
