  1. And ah yes they do seem to go to the moon alot...like I said they suddenly gets this inexhaustible energy. They also love to go into vertical loops over and over and over with these crazy physics until you run out of gas (or they do). Before I only used to notice this in the AI MiG-21, but now it seems like any AI aircraft. To test this theory I went to a dogfight server to fly against human F-15s and F-16s. I got 4 of them, and every time I fought them, I did not have a problem with holding energy in turns with them and so on. I clearly was not flying against UFOs. v6, boNes
  2. The 23 Enigma...is that the whole 23 phenomena thing where it has power and turns up in the most irrelevant of space and times? v6, boNes
  3. I haven't had any problems in all but Normandy (which I don't have). But I did notice that though VAICOM Pro and AIRIO recognize "Salute", DCS does not. v6, boNes
  4. Thanks all. If I have Phoenixes in flight in SARH being guided by TWS, awaiting them going pitbull, then I flip the ACM cover up or in the RIO seat selecty PH ACT, will this affect the Phoenixes in flight or just the next ones fired? v6, boNes
  5. WHAt does this mean exactly? I know the Illuminati but I don't get the quote. v6, boNes
  6. This one is still not working after the Oct 28 hotfix. I have the Steam edition and did an integrity check. Even after the files were redownloaded, the problem still occurs. Thanks! v6, boNes
  7. Instant Action Caucuses Case I recovery mission, the TACAN works for a minute or two then dies. Already checked...TACAN on and on T/R, tuned to 059X, pilot selected, AWL steering selected. Works then HSI stops working and the bidi TACAN needle starts spinning. Checked it again. Seems that it stops working if you miss your first trap (bolter or otherwise). v6, boNes
  8. He works for me though I can't control his choice. There was an An-50 but he chose and targetted the Mi-28 parked nearby instead. But they were both static aircraft. I would like to know if he can be told to target a structure, like a control tower or something. v6, boNes
  9. My buddy and I have done this before. It was a night mission and I had the Tomcat and he had a Hornet with LITENING. He used the LITENING laser to show me where the target was, aand I hit it. It was great. v6, boNes
  10. No you were right, I was talking about the back seat. But I get it now, es, of course, the CAP. I’ll give that a whirl. Thanks! v6, boNes
  11. How do you mean? v6, boNes
  12. Since the new 2 line data has been added to the TID (thank you and thanks for the TA fix!), the data for target's MC I think has gone missing. Where do I find that aside from estimating it from ground stab? Thanks, v6, boNes
  13. If I use eyeball for Jester to target something, I think I have to wait until he actually stabilizes the LANTIRN before I can tell him to search. Is that right? I think I confuse him if I tell him to search targets too soon. Also, once he finds a target, I assume that he makes that QDES. However if we miss the approach and I double back and I tell him to go to QDES, he seems to not be able to find it. Am I doing something wrong? I also second the post above..can he be told to zoom in, or can he be told to adjust the gain? Maybe if I jump in the backseat and adjust the gain myself he will leave it at that setting when I go back to the front? Thanks for this great update. I almost feel like I'm cheating using him for LANTIRN because he is so deadly accurate with it and takes away my song and dance between cockpits. v6, boNes
  14. OK, it would be nice if that can be turned on and off on the fly but it looks like for now, you'd have to restart both DCS and VAICOM PRO to do that. Thanks. v6, boNes
  15. So to clarify, this will enable the Jester wheel but still allow VAICOM Pro voice commands? That would be great because the only reason I would want to do that is to use Jester for LANTIRN. v6, boNes
  16. Yes I have used AIRIO hints. What that does is if you say a command but it is say incomplete, then the menu on the upper left will show the command and hint at what the rest of it should be. Set hints on and then say, "Track single" and you will see the message will hint "Track single [target ahead][bandit ahead][friendly ahead][first][target 1][target 2]..." etc etc. So now you would know to say "track single target ahead" instead of "track single", for example. v6, boNes
  17. Supercarrier commands such as Salute don't work. I also called the ball and it responded that it wasn't a Supercarrier carrier even though I was landing on the Lincoln. v6, boNes
  18. I lost my wingsweep, speedbrake, all my LANTIRN, and many of my RIO HCU keybinds. I was bale to restore some manually, but for some reason, it doe snot always see them coming from my HOTAS. Keystrokes work fine tough. Loved the training day LANTIRN mission too! v6, boNes
  19. This is a carry over from another thread that I'm continuing here since it didn't really fit that thread. So I'm wondering about the Phoenix and its mechanics in the cockpit. 1. If I have the Phoenix selected and STT or PDSTT a target and then fire it, does the missile guide so far and then go active? Or does it basically become an expensive Sparrow? 2. If that particular missile lock is lost, will the missile switch to active? 3. If I have the ACM cover up in the front seat, and I put the gun cross on a target or in that target area, will the missile go active off the rail and hunt what was in that cross or cross area? 4. Is PH ACT in the backseat the equivalent of the ACM cover up in the front seat? 5. If I lock a target in the backseat then select PH ACT, will the missile go after that locked target pitbull off the bat? Thanks. v6, boNes
  20. I usually put the indicator where it is barely on the block. When it's there, if you look at the HUD heading tape, if you pass 9 degrees of turn in about 9 seconds, you 'll have a 2 minute turn. Round it up to 10 seconds for ease and it's close enough. v6, boNes
  21. I do the same but I don't set Jester to inactive. Haven't had a problem that way but maybe I should set him inactive. Anyway, it's a dance switching from fron to back seat back and forth but fun. I just wish LANTIRN could search a buddy lase. Iron dumb is, I agree, more accurate than I thought. I'm not a fan however with the CCIP pipper being on the BFL like it is because when it gets on target, it seems to always be right where it says "ORD" and I can't see it as well. CCRP--I haven't had good results for accuracy, at least not as much as CCIP (Really I should be saying computerr pilot, computer target). It's hard to see the upper and lower bomb cues. BUT...I still have fun with it! v6, boNes
  22. Yeah it's looking more coincidental than anything since last night. v6, boNes
  23. OK, so when I took the screenshot, I estimated the bandit heading and such by glancing at it in external view and getting reading from there. So not the best estimate in the world, quick and dirties that led me to 35L being good. Really it should be more like 15L. Looking at the positions at the time, he would have to turn his head about 15 degrees left to see me on his nose. But my point was being it used to say 180 or 175 which I think we can all agree was WAAAAAY off, this was a much better improvement. So no, not fixed, but better than it was, and thus, worked better for me than before. Plus he might have changed heading and TA in the time that I switched back to cockpit view and took the screenshot. We were maneuvering after all. I tried it a few times again with more accurate numbers and it was the same way. So yeah, not quite fixed yet, but better than it was. v6, boNes
  24. It used to say 180 which REALLY showcases the bug. here it is around 30 left which was about right since the bandit needed to turn about 30 deg left to be nose on to me. maybe it’s not as exact, but being it used to read 180 or close to it before when he was head on, I’d say that’s an improvement v6, boNes
