  1. I find that with aircraft with overly-sensitive pitch trim , the workaround is to make minute throttle adjustments to fine-tune the pitch . If your trim state is slightly pitched up , just take a few rpm off , and she'll settle to level . "Stick and Rudder" - still the greatest book ever written on how an aircraft actually flies , describes why this works .
  2. I don't think i ever got a trophy for doing my best .
  3. More vram will be one of my primary considerations . I expect DCS Vulkan will land during the next card's life-cycle .
  4. The absence of a hud pointing indication is killing me , at least . Maybe ATFIR will have it ?
  5. Being more the mudmover type , i prefer vr . But i certainly can understand the aa guys finding it more problematic .
  6. We'll see about "Nvidea killer" . Usually that refers to Nvidea last-gen , and falls a little short . I'm not really convinced of a price drop of the 3080ti , although i'd love to be proven wrong . All of this is not to say i would not consider RDNA , particularly if it offers more vram . (Sigh) If only AMD would get their driver act together....
  7. I've been learning the Litening by blowing the crap out of ships at Batumi with Mav-f's . Guess i'll have to try the Harpoon & compare .
  8. On the Hornet roadmap implementation priority .:clap_2::clap_2: And to all who voted down ATFLIR :spam_laser: :)
  9. I had no problem accessing it by clicking the link .
  10. Eagerly looking forward to release as well . I'm thinking the 3080 with (reportedly) 10gb vram .
  11. Within that budget , and assuming no IPD problems , i would go with an overclocked 9700k with an AIO cooler , 32gb of 3200 or 3600 ram , at least one 1tb m2 nvme drive , Gigabyte z390 pro motherboard and a Coolermaster H500m case , driving a Rift S . Many like the Hp Reverb as well , but i prefer technology that works for me rather than the other way around . You should be able to fit an RTX 2080 or 2080s in that build as well . Thrustmaster Warthog is by far the most popular hotas for DCS , and will fit your budget . Cheapest monitor you can find , Crosswind rudder pedals if the remaining budget allows , and PtCtrl (input/output forum) will prove most helpful in VR . Personally , i am awaiting the launch of Nvidea's 3000x series gpu's come september . And Intel's new gen launches in august . I elected to pass on that due to heating concerns .
  12. You're gonna throw your arm out of joint with all that reaching :)
  13. Welcome to the forums ! You certainly can have an amazing experience within that budget . However , be prepared for a lot of conflicting advice here ! A lot depends on your own preferences and tolerance for tweaking , as well as : Are you comfortable building your own pc ? What is your IPD ? Do you plan to run VR games or just DCS and possibly other sims ?
  14. Is it possible that you are not flying in the same mode as your bindings ? (Aircraft and particularly , game vs sim mode) ?
  15. There is a DCS SLI middle ground if what i have read is true , which stated that while only one GPU does the processing , the VRAM of both is accessible . Perhaps this explains the performance gain claims ?
  16. Nope . Refueling would still be considered "aid and comfort" . IRL , combatants would be impounded .
  17. It looks like your preload range is set to minimum . This can result in a lot of terrain-loading stutters . And yes , otherwise your settings are very , very high .
  18. Hellifiknow . But i see you've been having a lot of problems trying to transfer files from one to the other , so i'd bite the bullet and rebind .
  19. Don't know what to tell you . I can't read it at all , even max zoomed , and i have no problem reading the ddi text or switch legends without zoom or lean-in . Msaax2 , pd 1.0 .
  20. Just use the normal updater . https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4300298&postcount=6
  21. Yeah , in the Hornet it is functional but unreadable in VR .
  22. My grandson has a problem with heights . He had no problem flying on a flat screen , but the one and only time he flew in my VR (free flight in the hornet at 8k) , he ripped the headset off literally within a second . That should tell you something about how immersive vr is .
