From what I've seen/heard, I think the answer is yes it should do - but no word from ED yet.

I think with antenna logic they're talking about the B Sweep getting stuck on one side of the radar, FPAS is a page that gives you your range with current speed/fuel and gives you advice on what the best speed/altitude to fly at would be to get maximum range (among other stuff).

Samsung Odyssey WMR HMD Initial Impressions
backspace340 replied to GCBraun's topic in Virtual Reality
Yes you need to use SteamVR (and have the Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR thingy installed from the Steam store) - that's how the headset interfaces with DCS (either standalone or steam version), without it the headset will just display DCS as a 2D game in the Cliff House. Should be fine. You won't need bluetooth to play DCS - it's only used for the controllers (which you don't need to play it). You'll need a bluetooth dongle thing if you want to use the controllers in other games. -
Yes - it's because eventually ED will add in the ability to change the dispersal height on the bomb (hopefully through the kneeboard or loadout picker), and then we'll need to change it on the DDI to match. Right now they're always set to 1500, so we need to set the DDI to 1500 to match in order for the computer to work out the right aiming point.

[NOT A BUG] Rockeyes Bugged in Stores Page
backspace340 replied to Jetguy06's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yeah you don't *have* to, but it's a little bugged if you don't select AG first - I've been meaning to get a track and report it. If you select RET first, and then select AG, you can't edit the fuze/HT until you cycle out/into AG mode - so it's better to go into AG first and then select RET (or any stores) for now as that works 100%. -
[CANNOT REPRODUCE] AG Gun CCIP off since 22652
backspace340 replied to Eldur's topic in Bugs and Problems
Have you got the radar altitude on? Doesn't look like it from the screenshot - I always thought you have to have that on to get an accurate CCIP marker. -
You don't have to fly over the target to hit with a GBU - you've just gotta lob it. We should be able to get 5-10nm lobs out of it pretty easily with such a high speed launch platform.

It's due to a change ED made recently to move the starting position back to the natural sitting position of the pilot (before it felt like you were essentially sat on the joystick). The problem was they didn't also adjust the HUD scaling - so the HUD is scaled for the old seating position, not the new. It doesn't look like they're going to change it (judging by other forum posts I've seen in the A-10C section) which is disappointing - for now, you can either live with the right seat position but have to move your head, or you can move your seating position forward to the old position. I think by default double-clicking the mouse-wheel will let you scroll forward/back (and then double-click it again to exit that).

[NOT A BUG] Rockeyes Bugged in Stores Page
backspace340 replied to Jetguy06's topic in Bugs and Problems
Rockeyes have always shown up as RE and CBU-99s as RET (it means Rock Eye / Rock Eye Thermally-protected) - and the HOF and fuzing options only appear when you select AG master mode and then select RE/RET (which you haven't done in that screenshot). -
I'm guessing not - I would have thought we'd have an instructional video from Wags on how to turn it on and calibrate it (and same for the laser mavs). Probably not going to get one before the patch now given the time in the US.

Pitch UP when Carrier Launch with Auto Flap
backspace340 replied to backspace340's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
You're incorrect - read 11.3.2 of the NATOPS, titled 'FCS Degraded Modes (DEL/MECH)' - MECH is the degraded mode when the FCS completely fails or you lose all electrical power. -
Pitch UP when Carrier Launch with Auto Flap
backspace340 replied to backspace340's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I'm not sure what you're trying to argue now - trim does work in Auto Flap mode, it's just slow and it's not quick enough to overcome the violent pitch up like I just said a couple of posts ago. The bug here is not trim, it's that the leading-edge flaps and trailing-edge flaps get stuck in a pitch-up position until you cycle the flaps switch. Trim works whether it's pitching up or not, whether you've cycled the flaps or not, the only difference is that the LEF & TEF aren't stuck on +30 after you cycle the flaps. -

backspace340 replied to backspace340's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Trim is different in different flap modes - if you've got the gear down and full flaps, then you're in approach mode and the trim is setting the AOA that the FCS targets, not a 'trim' in the traditional sense of the word like you'd find on something like the F-5E. -
Pitch UP when Carrier Launch with Auto Flap
backspace340 replied to backspace340's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I know, I'm just clarifying that WOW issue isn't what's happening here - it's not the stabilator causing pitch up. As far as I know, trim DOES work in Auto flaps mode, it's just really really slow for pitch trim (which I think I read was accurate) - I'm sure if you watch the FCS you'll see some numbers moving but it's nowhere near quick enough to tackle the violent pitch up the LEF/TEF are causing. -

backspace340 replied to backspace340's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
The stabilator isn't causing the pitch up - it's the LEF and TEF. You can see it on the FCS page, the stabilator returns to neutral if I'm remembering correctly. -
Would there be any reason why it wouldn't be a possible weapon for the C if it was carried and certified for the A?

It's listed here on the ordinance fired (with a source): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1986_United_States_bombing_of_Libya#U.S._forces_and_targets From the numbers there (6 Hornets, 20 HARMs and 4 Shrikes), it seems like five Hornets were fully armed with HARMs (4x each) and one took 4x Shrikes.

Pitch UP when Carrier Launch with Auto Flap
backspace340 replied to backspace340's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
It's not really up to us to decide the priority order for dealing with bugs - we should just report anything 'wrong' that we find and they can deal with it when they like, if at all. We shouldn't stifle bug reports just because we'd rather they spend their time on different things. I've seen a few new players killed by this bug and the solution isn't always 100% obvious for them. For now players can fix this by either taking off in the correct configuration, or if they took off with flaps in auto, by flicking the flaps to half and back to auto. -
Heatblur 1st:dev to introduce Jetwash in DCS?

So you're saying if Iceman won't get out of the way till the last second, then I'll be taking a trip out to sea? -
For CBU99's you HAVE to set the fuze to VT and then set the HT to 1500, otherwise it won't work properly. There's also an ideal launch profile (20 deg dive, from 2500ft I think - check Wags' video on it in the mini updates to find out for sure).

Pitch UP when Carrier Launch with Auto Flap
backspace340 replied to backspace340's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Cycle the flaps - set to half and then back to auto, and it'll stop (and remember to set half-flaps next time). It's almost certainly a bug - I can't believe the Hornet FCS was programmed to attempt suicide if you forgot the flaps switch in real life. -

backspace340 replied to backspace340's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
It does the same from the field - I reported it as a bug with tracks and it got moved out of the bug forum with no explanation. Perhaps they don't want to deal with it. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=222009 -
The F-14 will have the LANTIRN pod available from its early access release - sounds like you're gonna go crazy as I can't see ED having the Hornet's done before then :)
